    When you go to the market, take reusable cloth bags or a nap-sack. You'll never have to worry about the bag breaking no mater how long you walk and of course it's so much better for the environment. Less people using plastic bags mean less have to be manufactured :) Merry Christmas to you guys!

    I did this in 1982-1991. I was a single Canadian gal 21 years old and went to Japan alone. And I returned to Vancouver alone although I had a few marriage offers. I liked Tokyo at Christmas and New Years, the city was very quiet and a nice change from the usual chaos.

    I know how you must feel on Christmas. I hope you had a nice time anyway. I moved abroad a couple months ago and flights were too expensive to fly back home from Christmas, so couldn't be with family. Then my presents from them didn't arrive and got sent back because of a mix-up, so I didn't have anything to open on Christmas Day. THEN to top it all off I lost my job a week before Christmas. So I wasn't very excited about it this year. I did have a nice time though, it was nicer than I thought it would be. :)

    It is so opposite to me that I grew up in Japan where people celebrate Christmas so differently than Western world. I liked to go out with my friends and family on Christmas when I was teen. But ever since I moved to US, everything is closed and nobodys really seen on the street. I got sad lol but for new years eve and years Japanese people celebrate like Western countries do for Christmas. Its trade off

    • @beot-kkot
      @beot-kkot 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ¡Claro que sí! Also, in Spain, babies are given both parents' family names.💃🏻 I am proud of my very long name. 😌🇪🇸 However, other people may think that the Spanish way is strange. Habits vary from one country to another. That's the beauty of it!

    • @abmong
      @abmong 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@beot-kkot How does that even work down a few generations? Do y'all have like a gazillion names each? I always thought creating your own unique family name without taking either the bride or the groom's family names would be a fair way to do it. Something new the couple choose together and used by their children until they in turn get married and choose their own family name with their partner.

    I remember as a kid being really upset when my dad had to work on or around Christmas (he is a truck driver) - thankfully he did his very best to work weird and crazy hours in order to be there when we opened presents. But as I got older we "moved" Christmas to accommodate his schedule since my sister and I were able to understand more, and that helped when we started getting retail jobs and ended up working on holidays too. I think as we get older, things are hard at first but over time its the people around us that make the holidays - not necessarily the day. You using the day to reflect and then have dinner with your fiance is perfect. Love and kindness are definitely what the holidays are really about.
    I AM SHOCKED ABOUT THE XMAS LIGHTS THOUGH! Do they just not put up tons of decorations at people's homes in the holidays?

    Although I'm in America still, I'm currently living about 2,500 miles from home and had my first Christmas alone since I couldn't afford a plane ticket back and I don't have a car. It was weird, but I tried to just relax + spent a lot of time planning for a job interview that's coming up in January. Soon I might be in Japan and if so, will most likely be alone again for next Christmas, this time about 6,700 miles from home. Either way, I still try to call everyone and facetime my parents. That brings a little comfort at least. I hope you have a good New Years and I wish you the best! Here's to a lovely 2020!

      @Smith Emma Haha that's what I've been told :D I guess I'm just a free spirit but I've always had really bad wanderlust and after learning Japanese in university I guess it just makes a lot of sense + the timing if things go as planned will work out excellently (my tour ends in March and the job in Japan I'm applying to starts in April). Spending most of 2020 abroad just sounds really exciting :P

      @Smith Emma I'm currently serving in a conservation corps. - basically I work at national parks doing restoration and conservation work :D It's very rewarding but it's so hard work that you can only serve until you're 24 yrs old. And I'm turning 24 this month so I'm currently looking for a new job once I'm dismissed in March. This teaching job in Japan would start later that same month so fingers crossed I get it! I'll find out tomorrow if all my paper work/application process went smoothly and I can advance to the last interview on the 6th of this month!

    Your videos make me happy .
    1. In trying to loose weight from 97kg to 70kg and in on Pariet (rabeprazole sodium) 10mg for acid reflux I get side effects like fatigue headaches etc. What helps with acid reflux?
    Im needing a colonscope endoscope before surgery to see why Im vomiting all the time and what ever I eat I get a allergic reaction like red rashes etc.
    2. Im having surgery in 4 months time for pilinidal sinus after a hospital neglected me for more than 1 year and sent me home many times telling them i gave been bleeding alot and due to this I will need to be in hospital for 2 weeks and 1 year recovery. I lost alot of blood due to this. First hole was ok but over time it got worse now I have 3 holes and all I wanted is for the hospital to do a simple surgery in march 2019 but lead to this massive surgery. Its hard to walk to go to toilet or even sleeping due tout he pain and suffering. Sometimes I pass out in toilet due to the blood. My therapist said once surgery is over my anxiety etc will go away.
    3. What vitamins help with anxiety to loosing weight to energy and with fatigue? I changed my diet etc.
    4. Hot flushes due to my neck pain and back stiff neck and food allergies.
    5. What helps with thyroid as I was hyperthyroid and I get heat intolerance alot and my thyroid does burn itch alot. Even though doctor won't do the test like the blood test to ultrasound for the thyroid etc.
    6. Sinus issues. Ent recommended surgery but most of my sinus is caused by either all of above or some of it.1 of my nostrils is blocked and can only breath through 1. When ever I have dairy or eggs I get red rashes headaches etc.
    7. Pre Diabetes found in blood test.
    When I went to a doctor he thinks all this is made up and I don't understand how is my bleeding to allergies against foods etc made up? He sees me for 1 minute then tells me to go. He even gave me antibiotics for my bleeding but the specialist said u don't need to take them and took them for no reason and had to take probitocs due to this.
    I even have a diary on what I eat etc and told.him about this he just dismissed it.
    I will need to change doctor as he not a good one.
    U don't want to get diagnosed with something u don't have. Since Im in Australia the heat and fire makes things worse.
    I got all this going on.

    I have psoriasis and increasing green food helps; Spinach, broccoli, green juices cruciferous veg and also microwaveable steamed vegetables (cheap - frozen- keeps a long time). I eat meat only a handful of times per year, limit alcohol to only a once or twice per year, and be cautious / limit nightshades; potatoes, tomatoes eggplant, goji berries, peppers. Potato starch is a massive trigger for me. I don't drink milk, but usually plant milks in tea, or drink peppermint / green tea. I limit my dairy consumption also.
    I will eat fish such as tuna, but salmon is too rich for my stomach. I eat wide selection of fruit (frozen - cheap!), for breakfast a banana, brazil nuts (2 or 3 every day) a few oatcakes, and a few pumpkin seeds for breakfast. Lunch is steamed veg (frozen - cheap!) with rice or some kind of veg sandwich/wrap with hummus or soup. (Tinned - cheap!). I buy large portobello mushrooms quite often and steam them. They are nice with hummus and some hemp power mixed in. Also wheatgrass powder is nice mixed in with hummus and eaten with raw carrots or mushrooms as a starter.
    I would say it's about balance with chronic immune issues. Try introducing more steamed veg and reducing oily foods, replace them with some nuts or seeds and see if it helps. I have improved many stomach issues by drastically changing my diet SLOWLY introducing and eliminating certain foods. Lightly steaming or introducing some raw foods before main meal has personally helped me. It's good that you know some of the foods that you cannot tolerate consuming in large amounts.
    Food combining is another subject worth looking into if you have immune issues. There are studies that show a raw salad with greens and seeds improves the nutritional bioavailability of a meal 10x more than if the salad and seeds weren't consumed before the meal. There are also some studies that show benefits of eating lower amounts of protein when eaten with carbohydrates such as rice or bread, can help with some immune issues.
    Not sure how much of this is 100% true for the majority of immune issues, but it's helping with my psoriasis. Too many carbs consumed with heavy protein can be a trigger for me. Wheat is another ingredient I am careful about eating in any great amount. Best of luck - initially it can be annoying if you cannot eat just anything that you fancy, and I have firsthand experience of it.

    Was the same for me I work and live in a different city than my spouse. My older son lives in the same city as my spouse. My younger son I think he's moved in with his girlfriend's family at this point my middle son we are in the same City but he's at college at his dorm. I believe this is probably the first Christmas that we we're all apart kind of felt weird not doing anything on Christmas Day.
