      I ride a kymco like 150, a scooter. The first time I drove it for real, no highway or interstate with that thing, I felt exhilarating. Even more so when I finally got comfortable with it and started line splitting and passing everyone.

    First ten minutes: DONTDIEDONTDIEIMTERRIFIEDJESUSCHRISTHELPME

    Nothing. I was thinking absolutey nothing. I was feeling. I was living in that moment. There was nothing else. It was incredible. Except my hands were super cold (I should get glove liners). That sucked. But everything else was awesome. It was the most zen I've ever felt in my life.

      I took my new (2nd hand) mt07 out yesterday. I started at the carpark and then ended up on some windey back roads 5 hours later 😂 i was terrified at first simply cause of the yoshi system on the bike but after 4 hours of getting upto 3rd gear and hitting turns at 40km in a carpark i felt confident enough to take it on the back roads and felt so relieved. Just got my first bike, never been on a bike. No dirt bikes, well a couple times over 10 yrs ago. I bought a 2010 zx6r... will say don't buy brand new!!!! Anyways, I got on it immediately and learned. Have had it for about 2-3 months. Have topped it out already, 160!!! Yes, I still get scared at times. But just relax, keep your eyes OPEN, and watch out for other motorists!!!!!!! I mean that. Let me know what you got or are gonna get. Gonna start a channel of my own. From a rookie, and let people see my skills get better!! Hopefully help out others who are scared because EVERYONE I mean EVERYONE you talk to says don't do it, they are dangerous. Don't get a bike (besides people who ride already) but yes the channel. Rookie to Stunting!!! Good luck, be safe!

The way that adrenaline kicks in and the freedom that you have is hard to explain, but it’s something that everyone should experience in their life. My step-daughter offered to let me learn on her CBR500R and after a bunch of slow turn training, down shifting and trips around the block I was ready for my first actual ride away from home. The feeling during the ride was awesome. All thoughts about anything other then freedom, excitement and being one with the bike were gone. I can't thank her enough for my first experience. I started with a CBR300R and just bought a brand new 2020 Triumph Street Triple R and damn I cannot wait to pick her up. @@ThorgalsWalhalla Its worlds apart! The cbr300r was like 25 or so HP, the Street is 115HP so its like miles apart lol. I could do the same speeds as the cbr without ever getting above 4k but once you hit 8k to 10k it just starts pulling super hard and the next thing you know your doing 140km/h in a 50 zone. I will say that it sucks ass on the highway, especially if there is any cross wind you'll get beaten up and shoved around. You have no wind protection so long distance rides on windy days aren't all that fun, but in the twisty roads and calm days its a riot. Super comfortable to sit and you have tons of power, I don't think I felt so giddy when I got on that bike in a long time. Definitely worth the money and insurance costs.

    Also, not a lot of people talk about this, but engine cc =/= horsepower. My 700cc naked bike isn't as powerful as a 600cc sport bike. Different types of bikes have way different gearing, frames, weight, etc, that greatly affect its speed and handling.

    • @Steinjung
      @Steinjung 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      CC for me has no direct link to power and performance of a bike. My Stryker is a 1300cc Twin and I'm pretty shure I would be smoked by guys on 650cc sport bikes.

    • @ajdegroot1980
      @ajdegroot1980 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yep, and there's a massive difference between types of bikes when it comes to CC's as well. A 300cc sportbike is fine, but for cruisers one tends to look at 1000cc or over. Also, I would say that even hp's =/= hp's...well, sorta. At least equally important is the torque.

    • @maxlutz3674
      @maxlutz3674 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ajdegroot1980 I think that torque and the rpm/torque curve is more important than maximum horse powers. Any power surges make a bike less controllable and more dangerous for beginners. As an experienced rider I still prefer a smooth power curve.

    Hey Yammie, I am a 67 year old guy in Australia who has just returned to riding after a 25 year layoff, bought a 150 then a 300 and finally settled on a Royal Enfield 650 Interceptor and all within 18 months, so apart from losing a few bucks every time I changed and dropping my first bike in the driveway :( I have had a blast and love to ride especially on my own and you are right about the helmet being your own space, I can sing at the top of my lungs and nobody cares :). 19 y/o rider here. Just got into riding not too long ago. First bike was a Yamaha V-Star 250 and I practiced riding around my neighborhood before I hit the main road. My first time on the main road was incredibly intimidating and liberating at the same time. I also highly advise for beginner riders to not go for something that would spook you. I’ve been on my 250 for almost a year now and I’m now only getting a Yamaha bolt. I feel like as if you need to have a certain bond with your bike to really understand your own limits. This isn’t recommended; but dropping your bike is a good way to have respect for your machine. It’s something you never want to do and will always hurt your soul if it does happen. But in short; stay within your limits, always wear gear, and if it gets too much for you just pull in somewhere and take a breather. Calm your nerves and never ride emotionally. Stay safe new riders :-)

    The first time we went onto the road during driving lessons I felt a little bit tense simply because it was a new experience, but it was never scary. I honestly think riding a bike is rather relaxing. Outside of town you can simply stay in 6th gear and still have better acceleration than most cars.

    I just started riding around 5 weeks ago. I rode some scooters in high school (125cc) and spent a bit of time of a friend's Aprilia RS125 (2006 model). I rode a couple of 600s as well.

    What I felt during my first ride was a lot of power. I still laugh out loud every time I get on it. Really happy with my choice. Channels like this one and DanDan The Fireman are really helpful.

    I just bought a 200 and even though it’s low cc I absolutely love it. It’s my first motorcycle and the rush you get just from going into actual traffic for the first time not surrounded in a steel box is an absolute adrenaline rush. I crossed the street for the first time on a bike just driving to the gas station just trying to figure out the clutch and my heart was pounding out of my chest. I was shaking so bad I could barely put in my PIN number. I’m looking forward to getting it down and zipping around wherever I want to go on my little bike. I know some people think they need tons of power, but just riding around town on a little bike as a newbie is a rush. I’m sure at some point I’ll want an upgrade but as a new rider I’m freaking loving the feeling even though I don’t have massive amounts of power. Main goal is to not die, save on gas and just feel free while zipping around wherever I want to go. Your videos crack me up. I hope you keep making them. Thanks.

    I took the MSF course last week. Bought a GSX-R 750 and am loving it. That being said I have not taken it on the highway. I am driving around the streets (I live in the country) and the feeling of just hitting 50 mph was exhilarating. Love this channel and look forward to getting used to my bike and ripping it in the mountains of PNW.

    When I was looking for my first bike, I went back and forth between the idea of a 300 and a 600.
    I ended up settling on ... 1340.
    Yeah, so basically, my first (reliable) bike was my 98 Softail Springer. I love her. She's been the best purchase I've ever made. Was it the smartest idea smarting on something so huge? No, sir, it was certainly not, but I continue to learn quite a lot, and I still haven't dropped the bike once after two years.

    First time was on a Broadway c50t. Only driven a scooter before. Figured I could do it since I drove a manual, cranked it up and went on the highway after 10 minutes on the street. Love it.

    Im 16 and copped a Street Triple as my first bike.
    The first time out on the bike was amazing. There’s nothing quite like cracking open the throttle for the first time and feeling the acceleration from these 2-wheeled rocket ships.

    I've been off bike for 30 years and just got back on at 51. It was a first ride all over again! I did it right(this time). I did my research, bought a helmet, checked insurance then went looking for my bike. After four weeks (and a shit ton of disappointment in marketplace) bought my 01 Honda 750 Shadow ACE. I had the dealer hold it overnight so I could get insurance started. I don't leave a parking lot without insurance. Ever. When I picked it up the next day, I was shaking. I was so excited it was silly! I started it up and then it hit me. I'm riding again!!! I was shaking with excitement when I pulled out on the road. It took me five miles to calm down and enjoy the ride. I actually had to say to myself,"you've been here before, act like it!" They say you can't go back to your first ride. I disagree. After 30 years it was my first time all over again! I wish I could capture that feeling every time I ride.

    I took my course, got my Rubber M, and started out with a 2002 1500 LC. Call me stupid, but I bought the bike before I even started the course. I have absolutely no regrets about starting off with a bigger bike.

    Man I just bought a 2019 Honda cbr600Rr and I spent five hours knocking off the rust from driving dirt bikes as a kid and I was intimidated by the power but respect it and oh jeez the freedom it’s a crazy filling it’s something so different than just going fast in a car

    Just purchased my first bike, a 1989 FZR250 last weekend. Took it for my first ride on monday and could not wipe the smile off my face. It took me about half an hour to take it past the 12k rpm mark, but shit is it fun when you do. I was just screaming into the wind and engine noise in pure bliss.

    This one really chilled me out with the differing opinions of lots of people that all pile in when I talk about getting on the road next Spring. Big takeaway for me, be smart about your gear and habits, the rest comes with experience.

    I tell you what my feeling on my first bike was a few weeks ago. Aside from the ever terrifying whisky throttle into the opposite side of the road’s grass (on the safe back roads) it was absolutely exhilarating. Pure freedom. Bliss!

    I'm new rider at age 27, just bought my first 125cc. First time I tried starting I panicked and hold my throttle. Did hurt myself a little but nothing serious. I immediately earned respect for these machines and was more cautious next time. Then after some trials and errors something clicked in my head. It was scary and exciting at first but the fear quickly vanished as I spent more time riding and become more confident. Can't wait to visit all places near my hometown. I think it will become my first real hobby now and help me with my depression :D

    I started riding two months ago on an R3 and it’s been a straight up delight. Love that shit. I used to have an old cruiser that I absolutely felt unsafe on. It felt like the bike was riding me instead of me riding it. As soon as I sat on a sport bike, I felt like I was in control instead of the other way around. Good shit yammie.

    LOL. I remember my first accidental wheelie. Rode a friends bike and didn't realize how sensitive the throttle was. Another reason why a 300 is a good starter

    I recently bought a MT 07. It is the first bike I've owned. I've been riding smaller dirt bikes for the past 3 years. Nothing that compares to the MT 07 though. It is such a good ride, I love it!
