If you look in the back ground you will see that Latif’s mum kitchen is the same as any mums, lots of odd dishes, plates and utensils, nothing matches! I love it!!!
Mate you heard my cry in the comments of your last fish dish . Happy days and not a fish head in sight . Love my grub and should I travel on a long haul foodie trip Bangladesh or maybe ( sorry ) southern India where I hear fish recipes abound are on the bucket list .
Hey man just to say I love your channel, I used to work in a Kashmiri and Bengali restaurant/takeaway and learnt a lot about cooking curries etc and you are now helping me to get back into it, alhamdulillah, shukran.
as-salamu alaykum wa-rahmatu llahi wa-barakatuhu my brother nice to see you again dish looks fantastic mashallah i will definitely try this at home inshallah my mouth is watering
Keep pumping the videos out brother but not too quick otherwise you will run out of content, pace yourself inshallah. Once again amazing recipe no one makes fish like bengalis allahumma barik
I agree. Once every 3 days for this lockdown. Otherwise everyday.. might runout of new dishes.. maybe.. do videos on talking about things about bengali, asian food and history and what not.. talk about different food related things. Etc people do want to listen to things about different culture/race.
You've inspired me (that's the goal, right?) I don't have any katla fish around, but I do have a salmon steak that needs cooking, so I'm going to make a variation of your recipe that doesn't cook the fish for as long. I'm already hungry, but I'm spicing the salmon so it needs to take some time. Spuds are already on.
Thanks for sharing this. I am going to give it a try. You have said, a couple of times, that you have had difficulty getting fresh coriander and fresh green chillies. There is a Tesco Superstore (not a corner shop) and a Morrisons and a Sainsbury's close to me and they all have supplies of fresh coriander and fresh green chillies. If you have one of these near to you, you might be able to find some. I hope that this helps. Good luck. Stay safe. Stay healthy.
i like your style of home cooking mate, and the restaurant stuff also. I've made a few of your home cooked precipices, the best I've ever had. your style is the best.
Cooking and geography lesson. My wife fries this fish the same way but we have rice as there are no spuds, beautiful meal. Got the same glass bowls ha ha. Thumbs up from mum so must be good. Stay safe back in the UK!
Woww... that definitely looks delicious! Although i never thought that potato can go well with fish. Love watching 😎 as always. Thank you bro Latif. I will try the kasoori methi and the mustard oil on my next fish curry dish 🥰
Thank you! I recently came across your channel and made a chicken vindaloo (.. turned out to be a madras but i am still dreading the bathroom visit tomorrow). It tasted awesomely authentic. thanks for that! subbed!
A tip from your Jakarta-based, Dutch potato-head Latif-fan here. Never leave ANY green on your potatoes. It is poisonous. Maybe as a master chef you know more, but this is what I know since childhood. Will now watch the rest of this video. Don't have FB or Insta, I just follow your TH-cam. Cheers. Stay safe and keep up the awesome work.
Looks absolutely lovely and healthy too! Living in the Czech Republic then getting any fish is always a problem (unless it's carp, which is horrible), so what other fish could I use?
Jim Patrick I don’t if you’re from the Uk but it should be really easy to find. Any Asian shop sells it, it’s also called methi leaves. Normally in a box. If you have a Tesco extra or Asda with a large range of ethnic Asian food, they may have it to.
Thanks for all the videos!!! Any chance of doing a chicken madras from home? I know you’ve done a BIR style but you said if you was at home you wouldn’t use the base gravy and would do it different. Keep up the good work.
Very nice cooking Latif

I believe Katla is big head carp, it is available in Asian shops. Nut you can easily substitute it with sea bass or white fish
Could you make a curry with Bangla Khodu and fish please.
Thanks for sharing this. I am going to give it a try.

Generally, fish is mates with coconut, rice and potatoes.
I also add coconut milk and a about a tablespoon of lemon juice. Tastes amazing.!😋

Living in the Czech Republic then getting any fish is always a problem (unless it's carp, which is horrible), so what other fish could I use?
William Roscoe see bass is good for this dish
@@LatifsInspired Excellent!
I can get that here pretty easily, so thanks for your reply.
can you use other types of fish?
As long as sasi gave the approval i know its a great curry.
Prankstar. Lol
Can you use Fenugreek powder instead as the leaves are hard to get.

@@yasmina7548 No they don't have this stock only in powder format.
