Made this last night for today, I used basa fillets OMG for my 1st time making a proper curry, absolutly divine! Will be using this recepie, from now on. I think it can also work for chicken & prawn. Thank you so much, your video was easy to follow and simple recepie. Your handing down your mums legacy to us all. Thank you ❤
This was AMAZING!!! Tasted restaurant quality. Thank you so much for sharing and for such great instruction during the video. Literally the best meal I have ever cooked! x
Was your fish curry as good as your mum's Shamza? ;-). I wonder how many great cooks were inspired as children, whilst standing next to their mum, peeping over the edge of a bubbling pot, waiting for their tea? One of the many great things about your channel Smamza is that you don't cook in a kitchen the size of a sports stadium and you don't use equipment that costs a month's salary per item. Your recipes are so accessible, I can pretty much just run into my kitchen, raid the spice cabinet, then rustle up one of your wonderful dishes on the spot. Much appreciated. Thanks, keep the videos coming
John, I think its fair to say that nothing can compare to mums cooking, although my mother will say that I cook much better than her 😀 😄 she doesn't cook in huge quantities as she used too. And I pride myself on cookimg simple dishes with ingredients that can be found in the kitchen to hand. I have never in my going up years seen my mum run out to buy things like star anise or mace etc... iwas always the basic whole spices used. Thank you so much John for your wonderful kind words. 🙏
Your Mom taught you well! What a fantastic, thoughtful recipe. The thinking is key to the recipe: simply put together and elegantly thought out. Chances are that with the balance inherent in the recipe, the result will be flawless. I will certainly cook by your recipe and it might well be that it is a keeper for the whole future! Respect! Best wishes.
so....finally found an easy recipe without the need of 1000 things for an obviously amazing fish curry ... will try it as soon as possible .Thank you so very much ! Lovely greetings from Austria 😘
Tried this today got to say it was the best sauce i have had i used hake as it was all i had in the freezer cant wait to try it with a better quality fish Thank you
I love fish, all types and love cooking with fresh ingredients and spices. Can’t wait to try this tomorrow. Thanks for your guidance and clear filming. My mouth was watering whilst watching.
I've only just started eating fish aged 56 and getting more and more into it. This curry looks epic, I didn't know you could cook it for as long as you did, I can't wait to try this :)
@@MyLittleKitchenRecipes my family loved it but I messed up somewhere. I didn’t get that rich dark color you got - mine was a bit more orange. I think it is because I only fried the onions until they were slightly fried. Any ideas what I may have done wrong?
Must be honest, watched it again and again and thought yeah let’s try and see, well Miss it was beautiful, spiced with a velvet smooth taste but not mild, not hot but perfectly beautifully spiced, will I do it again………Yup, going to do it with chicken next week! Thanks for the recipe xx
I made this today - it was so tasty. My husband and I loved it. The lemon made such a difference. Thank you to you……and your lovely Mum. I’m going to check out your other recipes. ☘️♥️💚🇮🇪 xx

Very nice! You never seem to cut corners, take your time to make everything as authentic as possible. I hardly make fish curry using Cod and i like the idea as it is boneless, easier for children to eat and enjoy too. Did you use fresh or frozen cod and can you please tell me where do you buy it from? If it is frozen, do you thaw before cooking?
You are welcome 😊Please do subscribe to the channel and turn your bell notifications on to be notified of my new videos, also do go through my older videos and share them with your friends and family to help the channel grow. :)
Thank you. 🙏🙏🙏 In south India (Tamil Nadu) we make a fish curry with fewer ingredients, but this is something I will try. This looks delicious 😋 love Punjabi and Sindhi food.
Yes you can do the same masala and add chicken instead of fish. Its a basic masala base that you can add anything to. And Chicken usually cooks quickly too
Thanks! Yes you can, this is a base masala for mostly 80% of the curries we make. However I do have video for base masala should that be of interest to you. I'll link it below. th-cam.com/video/urJPdFp1lrE/w-d-xo.html

Degi Mirch.. it's a red (dried) chilli that's grown in north India and north Pakistan.. comes both whole and powdered. It has a very subtle spiciness and flavor to it compared to regular red chillies. Great for people who don't like strong red chilli flavor.
Hi I love the Way you cooked cofta curry with out using mixi every one advices to use grinder mixer that and the other I love cofta curry but it takes for ever to cook. To you ❤ now I can cook my favourite curry again with out making mess in the kitchen. Today XXX
Made this for iftari and wow super yummy. Its one of the best fish currys I have had...hubby loved it to and has asked for it again today 😂 Jazakallah for sharing, may Allah reward you for your efforts.
Looks fantastic will try this InshAllah . I have two questions though - 1) do you leave the skin on the fish or remove it and 2)is there a reason I shouldn’t just blitz my onions into a paste to start cooking rather than chop finely and then melt as you do ? My mum tells me to paste the onions to cook the dishes quicker so I’m not sure now. Thanks.
Fadia, the skin is off on the fish as my kids won't eat skin and regarding the onions, you can blitz them if you wish, I just preferred to chop them as that's how my mum used to do it.

Great video! What was the name of the spice that you mentioned in your dish after the coriander powder?
Degi Mirch.. it's a red (dried) chilli that's grown in north India and north Pakistan.. comes both whole and powdered. It has a very subtle spiciness and flavor to it compared to regular red chillies. Great for people who don't like strong red chilli flavor.
Ajay, Deghi Mirch also known as Kashmeri chilli powder. Mild in flavour and adds a nice colour to the dish, minus the heat.
