    I know many people who are looking for sleep aids to take with them on the road and I found these to be the most comfortable. With nice ambient sleep aid sounds these could be the best solution for portability when it comes to white noise earplugs and wireless sleep technology. Let me know what you think of the sleep buds review and let me know if you own a pair of the bose sleep buds and what other wireless sleep headphones I should try out.

      There are a lot noises out of my apartment and this sleepbuds are amazing! I can sleep now without any kind of interruption and there are super confortable. • @ATABBOTT
      @ATABBOTT 5 ปีที่แล้ว +116

      Think you'll be waiting a while. The buds don't actually stream audio from the phone, the sounds are played from internal storage. Therefor they only need to communicate for control signals with the phone and to sync each bud with the other. It's how they have such a long battery life (16 hours of play time) despite their tiny size. Compare this with proper totally wireless earbuds, think AirPods or the stuff from Jabra that get much shorter battery life (5 hours play time) despite being much bigger.

    • @parishna4882

      How do they block internal noise? I mean, active noise cancellation uses microphones to remove external audio noise. So ... just how are you blocking internal noise?
      Are they listening to your thoughts, and commanding you via subliminal messages woven into the preset audio, to "Shhh, don't hear it." or something?
      Just explain that to me, blocking internal noise? I'm all ears.

    These sleepbuds have been the only sleep aid I have ever used that has changed everything about my sleep. I fall asleep in less than 1 minute every night and my sleep is much more restful. I used to feel like someone who was being woken up from some drug-induced coma every morning, but no more. I've used them every night for the past 3-1/2 months. There are several noise-masking tracks, but I've only used one so far - Swell. I'm not sure why people feel the number of tracks is limiting. You should be able to find one that works for you. I'm pretty confident that would screw up how quickly I fall asleep if I started listening to different tracks on different nights. The brain is looking for routine and consistency in order to shut off for the night IMO. These work great for me. I hope they work for you!

  • @DaneOLeary
    @DaneOLeary 5 ปีที่แล้ว +356

    Waaaaaaaaaaay too expensive for earbuds that don't stream music. I have major trouble getting to and staying asleep, but I wouldn't pay more than maybe $100 for something like this, and that's the absolute top end. I think $79 might be a more reasonable cost. At $249, these cost more than most high-end wireless earbuds on the market, which is obscene considering you can't use them for music. If you could also use them for music and media, it might be a different story.
    In short, it's certainly an interesting product that I'd love to try, but that high price makes this a hard pass.

    I’m a heavy snorer and my husband was very sceptical about the sleep buds...claiming nothing would be able to drown me out.
    He’s had the buds for 5 nights now. At first he put the medium ear pieces on and it didn’t block the sound...so he put on the large ones. He played one of the tracks and for the first night EVER, he was not woken by my snoring. I didn’t get prodded and we both slept peacefully.
    I asked him if the track playing all night disturbed him, and he said it didn’t. He’s loving the choice of tracks too.
    We don’t care that it doesn’t stream music. They have a low profile, are comfortable when sleeping on your back or side, and do the job and do it well!

    I bought these recently. Actually, my wife bought them for me as a gift.
    I REALLY, really wanted to like these, but after 3 weeks I returned them for a refund.
    The design of the case and earbuds themselves is really first-class. The app is also slick and mostly easy to use (although downloading new ambiance or sleep files is rather cumbersome).
    The problem, though, at least for me was a technical disconnect with the wireless connection. To put it simply, the audio was often glitchy, crackly and unrealistic making it annoying to fall asleep while 'listening' to them. Some files were decent, though (Warm Static, Boardwalk, etc) but I really wasn't impressed with the rest of the collection.
    The noise-canceling feature is fairly solid as you would expect from Bose, but the earbuds didn't completely block out certain unwanted nighttime sounds - like snoring.
    The pressure of having these in your ears took a few days to get used to - even using the size that worked for me but laying on my side became a very uncomfortable experience. Just the weight of my head against the pillow (memory gel foam in my case) caused the earbuds to put pressure inside my ear canal - which ended up causing minor pain.
    Overall, if Bose were to fine-tune some (or all) of these issues - everything from the wireless sound quality to comfort fit quality - I'd consider spending another $250 in order to give them another try.
    As I said before, I really wanted to like these.

    I bought a set of these a few weeks ago. These things area amazing. My wife is a loud breather when she sleeps, and I am an incredibly light sleeper, so I rarely get a good night's sleep. I bought these on a whim and I have to say I have been very impressed with how well they block out noise and let me sleep. I've found that I dream more in the last few weeks than I have in 24 years of marriage, suggesting that I am sleeping differently than before. I feel more well rested as well. I also love the 'bells' you can set for an alarm clock. They are a very subtle cue to wake up and much nicer than an iPhone alarm or alarm clock. I don't care about streaming music to these, I have headphones I use for music already. I doubt these would sound good all that good anyway, as they are not very loud and don't seem to be all that hifi in the provided sounds (the frequency response seems pretty limited, especially in bass). Anyway, they work great for me for sleeping and I'm really happy with the purchase.

    After owning the QC 35s for over a year now, I have a whole new respect and point of view when it comes to BOSE. That being said, the Sleepbuds are priced at $250 but yet only used for “sleep” is a little frustrating, because I can’t pair them like a regular Bluetooth headphones (if choose to) and I think I deserve to have that option if am Paying $250 price tag! I've had my sleep buds for a couple of months. I agree with most of what you say in your video. I bought them primarily to help mask the sleep sounds of a rather noisy wife. They work very well for that purpose. I particularly like the rain sounds. The recording of the rain is without any noticeable glitch in the sound loop, as is often evident with most sound machines. Therefore, preventing the annoying "waiting for the glitch to come around again". Two issues, which are not deal breakers, sometimes the case charging system needs re-booting; and I find when lying my ear directly on the pillow the ear bud on the pillow will break contact with the ear canal and you loose sound. This does not happen when you lie on your back or stomach. Overall a 4.5 out of 5 for the buds.

      if they aren't able to make them sound decent then they shouldn't have made them in the first place instead of not offering the option to play music. or at least not ask 250$ for it.
      even if they did play music and they sounded great then 250$ is still expensive compared to all other wireless earbuds on the market.

      @@TheDesius That is one silly logic. Scrolling through the comments, I see two people here who have bought it, and they seem very happy with their purchase. Both said this product helps them sleep much better at night. And yes, they both were willing to pay 250$ for that. Scroll through the comments and read them yourself if you don't believe me. If these weren't produced, they would've used another setup/device. Something inferior (for their situation) perhaps.
      This is the same for all products. It's good that it gets produced, because the consumers would then have more options. Or are you saying that by making these buds, Bose harms you in any way?

    • @TheDesius
      @TheDesius 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@marioprawirosudiro7301 just becouse these 2 people are happy with it doesn't mean it is perfect. There are other options that they simply don't know about that are cheaper and possibly way better. I use sleepphones myself and they are also able to play music and are very comfortable and also a lot cheaper.

    • @marioprawirosudiro7301
      @marioprawirosudiro7301 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TheDesius Nothing is perfect. These buds certainly don't need to be. Some people actually need Apple's ecosystem, but to me their products are overpriced, and they suck. Different things for different people. You like your sleepphones. Good for you. Those 2 people might also like like a sleepphone. Or they might not. Different things for different people. They just need to exist. Only then can customers decide whether it's good for them or not, because you can't decide on something that doesn't even exist.
      You saying a product shouldn't be made just because you don't like it, is like me saying you shouldn't comment because your comment sucks. See how ridiculous that is?

    Thanks for your review. Glad you mentioned that there is no active noise canceling. Now I am probably NOT going to buy these. What's the point, so I can listen to ambient noise while I sleep? Then there is the price factor. The whole idea was to have active noise canceling. How about releasing wireless noise canceling headphones? I would buy those for $250, and gladly sleep in them. My neighbors have small child and they walk around banging doors. They live below me. Earplugs do about 60% job. I need something more effective.

    People who are complaining that they don’t stream music, or they’re too expensive, apparently have never gone for months - or YEARS - without a night of sleeping more than 2 or 3 hours at a time. Try a visit to a sleep clinic and see how much that will cost; and the pharmaceuticals the doctors might prescribe won’t stream music, either! Earplugs help me sometimes, but are uncomfortable. I’ll be looking into these.

    • @parishna4882

      A sleep clinic won't test you for your ears. And pharmaceuticals will not help you sleep, only force you into a sleep state where your brain is still not fully compensating.

    Agreed. It seems like a huge oversight that will lose potential customers. I've been dying for a wireless earbud that is comfortable in bed, because I love to fall asleep to pretty much anything: audiobooks, podcasts, jazz, you name it. Recently I've resorted to using my google home mini to do the task because my own wireless earbuds simply aren't comfortable and even if I do fall asleep with them, they always fall out.
    I get that audio quality might be poorer with how compact the devices are, but I'd kill to have the product regardless. I'd imagine there are plenty of people like me who have trouble getting to sleep, but are out like a light with the proper noise.

    I have these sleep buds. I liked them better at first, but lately I've been having trouble charging them completely. This evening for instance, I placed the sleep buds in the case and confirmed that both right and left sides were blinking, which should mean they are charging. When I got home from work, the case was fully charged, but the sleep buds themselves had only 4% battery. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I put the buds back in the case and am hoping for additional juice by the time I go to bed.

But to $250.00 plus tax for earbuds that don’t play music is insane! Has Bose gone over the edge with their pricing? Interesting product but costs way too much for a product that has very little features.

    These are cool, but as someone who loves sleeping to ASMR, it would be cool if I could do so with these. Unfortunately, the Sleepbuds are so tiny, they don't have room in them to fit reliable Bluetooth technology in them to stream audio from my phone. These would be more preferable to buy at maybe $100-$150, since other truly wireless earbuds that can stream music are priced around $150 minimum. I'm like you though, because my biggest issue with sleeping with earbuds is comfort. It seems like no matter how small of an earbud I get, they still feel uncomfortable on my ears. I'm a side sleeper by the way. That's why, like many in this comment section, I'd love a version 2.0 with Bluetooth streaming capabilities so I can fall asleep to ASMR, which does a much better job at helping me fall asleep than these preloaded sounds, but I understand why these do not have them, which I previously explained why. I love the direction Bose is heading with these, but the price point on these guys are really the only reason they flopped so badly.

      It would seem so. A white noise machine, but much more portable, and since it's in the shape of a pair of earbuds, that would give you at least passive noise cancelling when it sits snugly in your ear canals.
      I'd like these, but tax would double the price here, even if shipping is free (which it won't be). So I'd need to wait until it's available here locally.

They also close out more than just 50% of outside noise when wearing both.
