Hi Kevin..I'm amazed at the speed you get those clutches out.. It would be a 3 day job for me.. 8 to 12 hours workshop time for most mechanics.. My wife's civic needs a clutch at the moment.. Its the same model in a 1.4 6 speed. Is there much difference between this 2.0 job and the 1.4.. I've no lift ...if there's no subframe to come out I'd have a go... I'm in ireland so no chance of getting you out unfortunately
Great Job at the Zafira,usually it is recommended to take apart the Steeringframe completely.Left side steering in Germany!!? (I have had a Zafira 1.9cdti/2007) It s a Nightmare 😂 Let us know when you change the Clutch at a Mercedes A-Class W168 without lifter...huah😂
Freelander in today for "a clutch" - another place tried, failed, it came here, missing a load of gearbox bolts but otherwise intact. I had a look - turns out the master cylinder is stuffed, so how they reckon the clutch is gone is a puzzler, seeing as there's no way of using the clutch.. How they missed that is also a puzzler.. or was for a bit.. I'd a further look around it.. brake pads worn to bare metal, you could shave (literally) with the brake discs they're worn to knife edges, the lh c.v joint fell apart in 3 pieces, rubber boots long gone, owner said "It's just had new c.v joints.." somewhere else - which they paid for - oh no it didn't, lol... Couldn't even budge the rh caliper bolts - seized solid - the thing had a "Lift kit" fitted - which threw all the geometry out, made the steering links catch on the bodywork, sent the driveshafts off to such an angle they ate themselves.. How the poor sod driving it didn't die at some stage is a total mystery to me. Prolly was a blessing that the clutch system stopped them in their tracks. I often shake my head at stuff that comes in - the state they're in, but this took the biscuit. Or a biscuit, anyway, People who get a brilliant mechanic like our Kev doing work for them should count their lucky stars. Because trust me, there's ones out there would make yer hair go grey. He also makes it look easy - which also trust me, it ain't.
I've just found your videos. Amazing content! I'm a beginner when it comes to fixing cars, but learning a bit by bit. I noticed in some videos you are using quick jack lift and in others jack stands. How do you decide which one to use? Also when using the jack stands you are lifting only front. Would it be ok to use this method on longer cars like on bmw 5/7 series? Would you put the the very front jack stands on plastic squares (bmw) or somewhere else?

Nowadays just one a day, I take it easy now. But back in the day when I first started up to three a day sometimes. But most days was 2 for about 10 years …
@@WMCS wow, two a day is still crazy. You just make the videos look easy. Book time for a 2013 veloster said 4 hours and I did it in 5. Everything went well; in my area, the rust belt is crazy so maybe not so much where you are as I dont see that you struggle with removing bolts, ball joints etc. Here the threads are almost gone most of the time and I have to pull the torch for those lower bolts.
