Honestly, I don’t think it’s supposed to be a cutscene so much as it’s supposed to be one of the characteristic transformation sequences from the Budokai Tenkaichi series in general. That’s why the trailer transitions from Goku’s Super Saiyan transformation from the older games into the new Super Saiyan Blue animation. The length of the animation matches up (You have to consider that it feels longer because of the text in the midway section), the style of it is similar and the way the grass in particular interacts with the aura makes it look non-scripted. Which leads me to be pretty sure that the end of the trailer is the transition into actual gameplay, considering the look of the character model and the background. Of course, we don’t get to see anything more, but still. It’s hype to know that transformations, one of the most fun parts of those games, will look even cooler than before.
I don't know, the old "transformation" sequence were pretty much loading times, which aren't really required today, not for that long, so I'm not sure it's is in-game since the new games all tried to keep the transformations pretty short But honestly I'd be fine if the transformation sequences all looked that awesome I'd be fine with it, I'm just scared it'd end up being annoying to wait after a certain point But hey BT3 was all about looking cool anyway

I am 30 years old and one of the happiest memories of my childhood was getting all our friends together in a house to play a budokai tournament. We stayed up all night until dawn in silence so that our parents would not get angry for staying up late playing. This is a beautiful gift , I hope they do things right and give us a game worth waiting for .

The Budokai Tenkaichi series is easily the Dragon Ball game that feels the most like a Dragon Ball game, if you get what I mean. FighterZ is amazing, but it feels more like a fighting game with Dragon Ball characters. In Tenkaichi, the Dragon Ball formula is gotten just right. From the beam clashes to the transformations, everything is just perfect. Hypest I've been in a while 🔥
Yeah, I was just saying earlier that while FighterZ is a lot better of a competitive game, Tenkaichi is pretty much the best if you're trying to recreate fights from the series.
As far as I know, Kakarot doesn't have pvp and is pretty much just the story with some additional missions that expand the characters a bit. Whereas Tenkaichi has a huge roster as well as other game modes such as vs. or world Tournament, that have a lot more potential matchups. In addition to the traditional story mode of course
This new DBZ game has a huge potential if they don't touch the gameplay that much! And knowing they showed footage of the previous Tenkaichi game, I'm pretty hopeful! This game announcement made me hype and I'm looking forward for more news about this game!

I regularly complained to my siblings how much I want a new Budokai Tenkaichi game or a BT3 Remaster, even tho I knew....it will never happen. I am so shocked, that this actually got announced, I believed 0% that we ever get a new BT game. I have so much hope for this game now and finally a 3D fighting game I look forward to. 😳 I also hope they make this game more of a "casual fun" game instead of super competetive one with clear balancing, they have FighterZ for that. It's ok to have some overpowered characters and meme characters in BT. 😂
I doubt it with all the other db games still getting content that they'll remaster or remake the old games. It would be insane to get the roster of 3 from start or base game. I imagine that it'll be from Z to Super, probably up until super hero if not then TOP & have the rest as DLC would be a pretty safe bet.

I forgot spike made tenkaichi, I thought it was Dimps but that being said, what if its Dimps? I know they just made breakers which...yeah anyway but they made xenoverse 2 & many other games so maybe it'll still be good. I just hope whoever the devs, they don't mess this up.
This is probably just a pipe dream, but imagine if they kept 3's roster and added Super characters/transformations + characters from stuff like Super Dragon Ball Heroes like Mira and Towa or Xeno Trunks. Hell, added characters like Bonyu of the Ginyu Force or Android 21. Just make the roster absolutely insane.
Honestly that but without the heroes characters and just the characters from super, manga and the movies. I really hope they don't make yet another 60% finished live service game and have a complete roster from the start just like all the other budokai tenkaichi games
I am excited for the next entry, but it has alot to live up to. A true next sequel would have everything the previous had at launch including every character, arena, battle track, modes, fighting mechanics, plus whatever 4 will have in terms of DBZ Super content. Fingers crossed!
@@vlexxo4710 Not really, that's the thing BT3 character models and animations are too dated today and BT3 was a more polished BT2 which was a more polished BT1 so it wasn't too hard for them to build a huge roster (not to mention making models was probably easier back then) I hope the game is great but honestly I don't think people should expect all 160something characters from BT3 to come back (and the battle tracks is a straight up nono considering the plagiarism), maybe in the long run with a sequel or dlcs but not at first
I dont believe this is a cutscene I believe is probably gameplay cause of how they revealed it, BUT if it is a cutscene they could have a different developer that is working under visual guidance from Arcsys or CC2 and we saw this before with Arcsys and DNF duel which was developed by Eighting but the visuals were Arcsys.

Yeah, CC2 is great in my opinion but lazy how they treat Storm. Storm Connections looks the same as Storm 2 which is like a decade old🧐. They could of upgraded the graphics like Hinokami Chronicles. That game flopped though. Tenkaichi 4, I have great expectations of. And a Bleach Storm game would be another dream come true.
Could be cc2 as its in early development which could be a 2/3 year wait . So that's plenty of time for cc2 to release connections then focus on tenkaichi 4 and demon slayer 2

Good on the modders who brought us the Pseudo DBZT4 to hold us to this point, but wow the graphics, and i hope they correct the camera style, just up it a bit, give it a bit more of a XV touch, while keeping it Tenkichi still. However that would work lol

I think the developer is probably bandai themselves. People forget that bandai has internal studios that make great games. I mean bandai is one of the devs that worked on super smash bros ultimate. They made the tekken series and are working on tekken 8, code vein, the tales series, Scarlet Nexus, Pokémon Snap. So honestly it could be just bandai
If it is arc system works maybe they'll try to give us the closest thing to a "competitive" battle arena fighter we've seen I don't have a clue how it would be possible or if it ever would be but imagine seeing the best players in the world compete to named the best, could keep this game going for literal decades nothing which is something we've already seen with the series. If its Cyberconnect 2 I am only a bit worried that the gameplay won't be the same because the whole point of which games people like or prefer is the gameplay, and Tenkaichi had its own formula and combo system. If the devs on this game don't play it or get expert players input, it won't live up to why the game was so believed back on PS2. It needs its old combo system. BT was known for its long combo chains and how its mechanics simulated the anime's intensity more so than just storymode cutscenes.
i really hope they re-built the BT3 engine as is and advanced it, taking a risk and making a new engine (like they did raging blast, although that was understandable given the ps2/3 differences) might end up being problematic. spike's games after BT3 didnt' really capture the fast-paced action that the tenkaichi series is iconic for. i'm trying to be skeptical in the middle of the hype, as bamco doesn't really have a good track record of good DBZ games in the past decade in my opinion... and i'm genuinely scared about what kind of DLC model they might implement.

They need to maintain the roster of BT3 and add the new characters; they could just take a look at the BT4 mod a get characters from there; to me, one of the key points of BT3 was the fact that you had characters even from Dragonball and some minor ones. I also would like if they implemented the story mode of BT3 or something better, which shouldn't be hard; I think BT2 had a better story mode.

I'm pretty sure the Kill La Kill If guys are making this game, as the artstyle is very similar. The core ArcSys staff have never made an arena fighter before, but their internal studio, APLUS, made the Kill La Kill game. If Tenkaichi 4 plays like that game, but with way more content, then I'm hyped.

This announcement can very well become the next Metroid Prime 4 and Metroid 5 thing, hopefully Bandai Namco and the developers know what made the original trilogy so special, and will put all their efforts into making a worthy successor.

there's one more thing to be hyped about regarding this game... the fact that it took this long to even be a thing might mean that the people involved with dragonball either waited long enough to have a large enough cast to revive the series, or have chosen to finally listen to the fans... what i'm trying to say is that this is the perfect time for this game to happen because of how many new characters will be in it. i do hope we don't get too much fluff from the ToP and definitely hope this game can be the first appearance for the manga characters like granolah and moro
I'd say the modders who made Budokai Tenkaichi 4 for the old Tenkaichi 3 PS2 title have indirectly caused bandai Namco to start this project - a lot of viewers of that mod and the company saw that they were missing out.
The size of the fists on Goku remind me of the character models in FighterZ so even though it's not the best use of that studio, it doesn't look anything like the models from Kakarot to me
BT4 is set to be the biggest fighting game of the decade. I'm sure Bandai Namco took their sweet time planning for this one. I even suspect that this game will be digital only considering the amount of content it's gonna have. If we thought BT3 was legendary then this new game will blow that status out of the water and be the biggest DBZ game with updates spanning up to 10 years if possible.

@@selfimprovement5873 characters like krillin and other humans that are considered "weak" in the show had a way lower ki bar and their suppers weren't the most damaging not to mention there's also the problems with the health bars where some characters had 2 instead of 3, Broly also had supper armor against everyone that is not in ssj3 level

As someone who’s never played a Budokai Tenkaichi I am hyped for this to come out and hope they kept most of what made the game the legend it is I’m ready for my first Budokai Tenkaichi

i do hope Bandai is working with CC2 because Storm/Hinokami are underrated and CC2 are also underrated devs imo and this will give them the rec. they deserve world wide allowing them to create many many more anime games with high quality and love ! i do hop CC2 makes a bleach game someday
Yeah, CC2 is great in my opinion but lazy how they treat Storm. Storm Connections looks the same as Storm 2 which is like a decade old🧐. They could of upgraded the graphics like Hinokami Chronicles. That game flopped though. Tenkaichi 4, I have great expectations of. And a Bleach Storm game would be another dream come true.

Could be cc2 as its in early development which could be a 2/3 year wait . So that's plenty of time for cc2 to release connections then focus on tenkaichi 4 and demon slayer 2
I believe it's CC2 as well, the graphics looks way too similar to Kakarot and yeah is probably is gonna release in 2024.

This will be MY first Tenkaichi game I used to play the older Tenkaichi at friends house, and it was always a fun time... can't wait goku looks great in the teaser.
Good on the modders who brought us the Pseudo DBZT4 to hold us to this point, but wow the graphics, and i hope they correct the camera style, just up it a bit, give it a bit more of a XV touch, while keeping it Tenkichi still. However that would work lol

I think the developer is probably bandai themselves. People forget that bandai has internal studios that make great games. I mean bandai is one of the devs that worked on super smash bros ultimate.
They made the tekken series and are working on tekken 8, code vein, the tales series, Scarlet Nexus, Pokémon Snap. So honestly it could be just bandai
If it is arc system works maybe they'll try to give us the closest thing to a "competitive" battle arena fighter we've seen I don't have a clue how it would be possible or if it ever would be but imagine seeing the best players in the world compete to named the best, could keep this game going for literal decades nothing which is something we've already seen with the series. Either way I'm hype can't wait to see gameplay

While I have little connection or history to this series, it's nice to see this series come back again.
If its Cyberconnect 2 I am only a bit worried that the gameplay won't be the same because the whole point of which games people like or prefer is the gameplay, and Tenkaichi had its own formula and combo system. If the devs on this game don't play it or get expert players input, it won't live up to why the game was so believed back on PS2. It needs its old combo system. BT was known for its long combo chains and how its mechanics simulated the anime's intensity more so than just storymode cutscenes.

If it has the same feel as the PS2 titles, or even better, then I'm paying full price for it.

I never played BT, but I’m hyped for this one cuz the old games seem so fun
i really hope they re-built the BT3 engine as is and advanced it, taking a risk and making a new engine (like they did raging blast, although that was understandable given the ps2/3 differences) might end up being problematic. spike's games after BT3 didnt' really capture the fast-paced action that the tenkaichi series is iconic for. i'm trying to be skeptical in the middle of the hype, as bamco doesn't really have a good track record of good DBZ games in the past decade in my opinion... and i'm genuinely scared about what kind of DLC model they might implement.

@@diamonshade7484 yeah i don't blame them for that, but the fact that they went down the "cinematic gameplay" route was starting to show its beginnings in RB and then cemented itself with the ugly aah game we know as Ultimate Tenkaichi.
at least we know bamco has screwed up enough times to know what the fans want already
They need to maintain the roster of BT3 and add the new characters; they could just take a look at the BT4 mod a get characters from there; to me, one of the key points of BT3 was the fact that you had characters even from Dragonball and some minor ones.
I also would like if they implemented the story mode of BT3 or something better, which shouldn't be hard; I think BT2 had a better story mode.

I'm pretty sure the Kill La Kill If guys are making this game, as the artstyle is very similar. The core ArcSys staff have never made an arena fighter before, but their internal studio, APLUS, made the Kill La Kill game. If Tenkaichi 4 plays like that game, but with way more content, then I'm hyped.

One thing I will say about this announcement is that this is TENKAICHI and should remain so FGC people got their Dragon Ball game with FighterZ so don't take the fun out of Tenkaichi to please them no removing giant characters like Great Apes or Hirudigan because "REEEEEE BALANCE, ONLINE AND JUNK!!" this should be Tenkaichi please don't revive the series and take out all the stuff that made it what it was so it can please eSports people.

This announcement can very well become the next Metroid Prime 4 and Metroid 5 thing, hopefully Bandai Namco and the developers know what made the original trilogy so special, and will put all their efforts into making a worthy successor.

there's one more thing to be hyped about regarding this game... the fact that it took this long to even be a thing might mean that the people involved with dragonball either waited long enough to have a large enough cast to revive the series, or have chosen to finally listen to the fans... what i'm trying to say is that this is the perfect time for this game to happen because of how many new characters will be in it.
i do hope we don't get too much fluff from the ToP and definitely hope this game can be the first appearance for the manga characters like granolah and moro

I'd say the modders who made Budokai Tenkaichi 4 for the old Tenkaichi 3 PS2 title have indirectly caused bandai Namco to start this project - a lot of viewers of that mod and the company saw that they were missing out.
It may still be Spike, this title is what could easily put them back on the radar so they have to go all out
The size of the fists on Goku remind me of the character models in FighterZ so even though it's not the best use of that studio, it doesn't look anything like the models from Kakarot to me

BT4 is set to be the biggest fighting game of the decade. I'm sure Bandai Namco took their sweet time planning for this one. I even suspect that this game will be digital only considering the amount of content it's gonna have.
If we thought BT3 was legendary then this new game will blow that status out of the water and be the biggest DBZ game with updates spanning up to 10 years if possible.

Was Tenkaichi 3 considered to be a viable competetive Fighting game? I have always wondered that. Anyways is still super hype for all us who grew up playing the Budokai-series that then transitioned into the Budokai Tenkachi series.

@@kauanjos3199 I don't see how, besides the giant characters, most characters had the same basic attacks that put everyone on an equal playing field.
I think Tenkaichi 2 would be the more competitive version they kinda of took out some of the stuff in bt3
@@selfimprovement5873 characters like krillin and other humans that are considered "weak" in the show had a way lower ki bar and their suppers weren't the most damaging not to mention there's also the problems with the health bars where some characters had 2 instead of 3, Broly also had supper armor against everyone that is not in ssj3 level
@@kauanjos3199 Yeah but it was way more immersive. I think bt2 is still the best out of them though. You should check out jagger1407 they make competitive videos about bt2 and sometimes bt3.
As someone who’s never played a Budokai Tenkaichi I am hyped for this to come out and hope they kept most of what made the game the legend it is I’m ready for my first Budokai Tenkaichi
