This bag is also designed for front carry. When you carry in the front of the body you'll find that the shoulder pouch location makes perfect sense. Also, you'll notice a "pass thru" located behind the should pouch that you can run a comm cable or whatever you choose. Since the RUSH bags are designed to be a tiered system, the 6 attaches nicely to the RUSH 24. I absolutely love this bag and constantly switch between it and the LV10. Love your videos and content. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for showing yourself wearing it. A lot of people just show the pockets. I want a fanny pack as a sling bag, so it's nice to see how it fits on the body. My Rush 24 has been around the world with me and is still in perfect condition, but it's just too large for times I want a bag to just toss some everyday essentials in. Frontal carry is nice too especially in countires known for pick pockets. I'd like a tech bag also. Molle is just too useful for when I need an extra pocket for something, but the whole "tactical" market is flooded with cheap, low-quality items. A lot of tech bags throw in a laptop sleeve and call it a day. Personally, I'd also like to see the hidden pocket replaced with something else interior, as I always carry on my person.
I’ve been EDCing this bag for 2 years now. Holds everything and more. You’d be surprised how much it can handle. I even travelled on plane with it a few times. Solid construction. Buildt like a tank. My only two concern is the “cubed” shape design. It bulges up when you fill the bag, ending up dangling on your back when you sling it. Because of this, when you hold it on your hand, it stays far from your body, making you bend your back side ways and walking akward. The other concern is that you cannot temporarily remove the strap. When carrying it on hand, it dangles and catches with your feet. If you don’t be careful, you will fall, especially going down or upstairs.
I’ve have the double tap color version. Excellent bag for edc, amusement park, and truck bag. I also retired this bag especially replacing it with for the LV10 which is in my opinion the best everyday bag. Thank you for the review. I haven’t seen the Moab 6 in rotation recently.
great review. I've owned this bag for 4-5 years. Your review clarified many nuances that I only assumed. Your explanation on the carry strap was especially helpful. I'm a "bag man" as well and have many bags for different reasons. But, again, I wanted to offer my compliments on a great review....
I've carried the MOAB 6 for about 7 years. Originally part of the RUSH 24 system and now as my EDC bag. I've accessorized my bag with a separate phone pouch, mag pouches for a Leatherman and a tourniquet case on the outside for easy access. Like you, I've carried many EDC bags but this has won over my EDC murse (man purse) selection.🎒
I curently have a 5.11 M.O.A.B Series 10 just got a water hydrator system WTS 31 Hydration. What are additionals on this MOAB 10. Only i carry on this Carry Bag are Important Documents in doing paying things like utilities and others.. thank you very much. 😊
I paid roughly $ 85. When it 1st debuted a few years ago. I also have the Rush Moab 24 back pack among other 5:11 gear. On this sling pack. The strap can be removed off the rear bottom buckle and it will fit in the zippered compartment in the upper rear of the bag. This will allow you to carry it like a day pack for the shooting range. Or you can decide between the two, the handle or thd strap, that's why its designed like a cube. It is also made to be attached to other 5:11 Rush series gear, as an extension bag. Thx for sharing, Enjoyed the vid. 😉👍
I have this bag and really like it. I bought the attachment straps and this bag rides on my wife’s 5:11 24 bug out bag. She can dump this bag to lose some weight if needed.
5'4" and I can only wear it across my front, but I love it for certain use cases. Like for camping or backpacking. I can wear a regular backpack with this on my front at the same time, if I put this one on first.
The plastic quick release clip at the top either digs into my shoulder if it's fitted across my back, or it sags backwards if I loosen it enough for the buckle to not lay across my shoulder. So possibly front only for people with shorter backs
Great video. I really like that bag! Big fan of the EDC sling bags. I have an old discontinued Rothco that's very similiar to the Rothco advanced tactical sling bag. I've carried it for almost 20 years and it's starting to get a little rough, so I'm looking for a new one. Think it is between this one or the updated one that I have. Mine is set up as a GHB because at any given time I could be as much as 300 miles from home. Local run truck driver. Got to make sure I can get home as easily as possible.
I've carried mine since 2012 daily and I've seen a ton of video reviews on it and everyone tries to carry it like a backpack and most just give up because it is uncomfortable so here is my two cents on this bag, you are wearing it as if it is a maxpedition gearslinger (vertical while on your back, horizontal while on your front) and that is wrong, try it the other way around, when pulled to the front, the comms pouch should be under your chin and the bag should sit vertically, And when the bag is on your back the comms pouch should be under your arm and the bag should sit horizontally. This is the most comfortable way to carry the bag, it does not sag and it conforms to your lower back and stays put. Tryitandseeeeeeee!
Thanks for your thoughts on this! I think that the learning curve on finding a comfortable carry style is the biggest issue with the bag, but if you can get it to ride right, it is an amazing little carry. Appreciate the detailed notes!
Ive owned thre Moab 6 for years. It is a very good man purse for a day hike, EDC carry, office gear or knick knack pack. The shoulder pouch is too small for most anything. Certainly can't carry my Fold 5 cellphone. But i can carry 2 or 3 books, a tablet, pens, markers, and misc notebooks. The CCW pouch is only large ebough for compact pistols. Barely fits my Colt Commander. I bought the Moab 8 today. Larger, but not as large as the Moab 10. The CCW easily fits a 1911 government, 1911 railed with light, even the FN FNX .45, a beast of a pistol. It carried my cigar box, 3 inch think book, a bag of new cigars, my cell phone, and my HK VP9 pistol. Much more flexible than the Moab 6. I love thr M8.
Thanks for the review, your channel has been my go-to channel to acquire in-depth analysis of a EDC sling or bag. Currently i am carrying GR136 metromonger as my work carry, and i am considering whether to buy the GR136 Quickdraw or the Rush MOAB 6 to alternate my carry between weeks, appreciate your kind advice this. I regularly carry around 10lbs of load comprises mainly tools
If you love the metromonger, go with the quickdraw, but maybe consider switching the strap - I've been using mine more with a normal 2" seatbelt style strap.
Great video, one question I have is how do you secure the pockets from pick pocketer when it is so easy to pull open for the front pocket and main pocket?
I love this bag but I really hate the strap! I think it would make a great travel bag in addition to an edc, but would like a simple messenger strap on it
Great review. I like this guy. I trust what he was saying, also, glad to figure out, halfway through, that the patch was for Steve Zizou, and not Russian invasion forces in Ukraine. I prefer whimsy to politics.
Hi! I was wondering if you think it would be confortable for small 6h hikes? I'm looking for a small backpak like this but I'm scared that the cross body thing will hurt my shoulder🙃 thank you!
Honestly, when I hike, a super light, backpack in the 10 to 15 L range is always most comfortable to me. That way, no matter how long or short the hike is, I can always bring the right stuff and never have to swap my bags around. You should check out the daybreaker and 13 from able Carry, and Cotopaxi and Osprey make really good small light daypacks
@@ThePerfectBag oh these are perfect suggestions! Thank you so much! I do wish they would make more bags like this 5.11 moab 6...but not single🥲 I think I m going to get the last link you sent me ! Thank youu!
i wish more of these packs had the extra little strap that goes under one arm to the main strap that keeps them from sliding in front of you when you lean or bend forward, really sucks to fight with your pack while trying to tie a shoe (or pick up a cool rock you just found)
I really love this bag! Only thing that bothers me is that the cell phone place doesn't fit any modern phone since they are bigger than the pocket itself. And the pocket is NOT designed for left side use because the zipper only opens one way, so if you carry the bag on the other shoulder, whatever you put inside the cell pocket will fall into the ground!
Truth. I would rather not have that pocket or have it be a removable pocket. Cell phone pockets in general are always annoying to me

@@ThePerfectBag another thing I don't like is that is not fast to change the way you carry this bag. It would be super great if you could just have a fast attach system for changing from left to right side. There are people like me that don't like to carry the bag on the same shoulder every time, every day
No offense taken! I think CC bags are interesting whether you carry or not. Some of my favorite edc bags have been from concealed carry-centric companies. Usually have lots of attachment options and interesting pockets
@@ThePerfectBag we don't have much stock here in Australia most of the colours that has stock are black or kangaroo. I wonder what colour is sandstone like
For a bigger versiin, do checkout the #Moab10 - this can fit a fullsize laptop and then some... some more, a lot more. I use #Moab6 as my powerbag, as today's ammo is really less about bullets but more on batteries :-) just me.

If it were for everyday. Which one would you choose? Lv10 or Moab 6.
