    Based on your recommendation for AvionRC, I ordered the Walksnail version of the Nexa Evo 2.5 this week. I set it all up last night (had to upgrade the vtx firmware to match my Goggles X) and bound up to the Boxer on ELRS. I did the madden flight at lunch today in the field next to our townhouse complex on a Tatu 2s 450mah lipo. I just did some cruise laps around the field till I hit 3.5v and then landed. I got over 5 mins in angle mode in 8-10mph wind with gusts higher than that. Handles it soooo well. And I could barely hear it until it was next to me flying by. I'm impressed with this little guy so far. Thanks!

    That little whip you always do around those trees is called the trippy spin. Or at least that’s the best thing that I could relate it to.
    Either way it’s super stylish and it’s kind of one of your signatures as you’re cruising around on your home turf.

    The VTX is the same as on the beta FPV meteor75 pro. With the CO3 camera I’ve seen great video. The vtx is a max of 350mw but the tables show 400. I use the foxeer wildfire module with DJI goggles v2.

      Absolutely.
      I've had the tinyhawk 2 freestyle for years, it's a 2s 2.5" micro.
      I've only replaced the props and the aio fc bcs I damaged the stock one.
      It's perfect for freestyling in a bigger park.

      Just what I think I am looking for to move into some light freestyle in smaller spaces and light winds. I like this size class because it is non-threating to bystanders. I just am not comfortable moving into 3-3.5 yet until I can build some confidence first. I was going to get the Flywoo Flybaby Nano 20 2s Walksnail till I saw this comes in the 1s walksnail and can use my 2s 450-750 packs I already have. This looks much better than the nano 20.

    I already had some 3S 550mAh batteries lying around, so I bought one of these after watching this review. It's great! I've only flown it on 3S, but it has plenty of power and is very snappy. I've tried to build similar things to this with 2" props, but the weight was always a problem. With this, between the 2.5" props and 3S power the weight just disappears. Good flight times too. And, usually I would strip an BNF down and rebuild it because I'm a nerd, but in this case pretty much everything was already great so I haven't bothered (I did change the battery mat). Kinda wish I had bought two!
    The one funky thing was the receiver firmware. The wifi just wouldn't work reliably for me. I flashed it with 3.3.0 (latest version at the time of writing) via Betaflight passthrough and it's fine now.

  • @urubufpv
    @urubufpv ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey, about the vtx, I had the same one on my tinywhoop. Some of them came whit a problem that no matter what you have set on the betaflight configurator, it won't save it, it will always start at 25mw when you power it up, and you have to manually click it to exit pit mode (yes, even if it's disabled on betaflight), and then click it again some times until you reach the desired color.
    Green = 25mw
    Yellow = 100mw
    Red = 200mw
    Purple = 350mw
    If your vtx LED was green, that's probably why you weren't getting all that range from that vtx.

    kinda reminds me of a baby ape. Assume this is a F411 not 405. I dont think I heard anything to the contrary. if I wanted to add a nano GPS on the WS version, I would need to rely on SS for GPS? or just go with no GPS option. does seem to be somewhat of a miss, that they have the holes for a 3rd motor screw but no screw occupying the position. That would be the first modification I make. you can fly on 2 screws/motor, but not so well with 1 in the event one backs out.

      @@NickBurnsFPV I'm designing a small freestyle frame with top mount battery. I plan to fly it around my house, at uni. Places my bigger 5" quad would be frown upon. I've flown the tyro 79 before and think that would be too big. I've got an old king kong et125 with replaced parts that I want to salvage and use in the build. It comes with 2.5 inch props but the new hardware can handle 3s. Deciding whether I stick to small size 2" or go slightly bigger to 2.5" for 3s. More punch less sag. More prop surface area. @@NickBurnsFPV , agreed about watching out for arm strength, but this Nexa frame looks alright just by looking at your bench views. But your sanity check is spot-on because I actually put even bigger motors, 1206, on my other 2.5inch frame (old HGLRC Hornet) and managed to bend one arm, flying it like a hooligan of course on 4s. Sometimes the stronger arms don't break but bend and then you can't get it straight again.

    • @TorontoFPV
      @TorontoFPV ปีที่แล้ว

      @NickBurnsFPV more just how robust it is. In this new design the parts that hold the fc aren't as strong and other parts are dead weight. It could tighten in some areas and save weight n space then use those savings to strengthen more important areas.
      Even comparing a regular 75mm whoop to the beta 75 pro, I find the 75 pro eventhough heavier is super stable and smooth. Can fly it better through tiny gaps. I find it easier to control than most 65-75mm. Or how you like your rocketrace the way frames are designed and weight/strength/components are allocated makes a huge difference. In my latest upload you can see a brand new crux vs a discus. Both are 3.5 but having a slammed stack with a better center of gravity makes night and day difference. 1002 are so popular now I think cause of how much smoother they are compared to 702s. 702s can be faster for how light they are. But not all of us can control the super zippy guys.
