Another great video/breakdown! I fly HDZ and I can only see things going up from here. The new VTX design is paramount for frame compatibility and while I fly the Race V2 (VTX/Goggle combo in Feb 2023) I'll be throwing this in my TBS Source frame which I fly now and absolutely enjoy it. Only once have I had a real "oddball" situation where it seemed the link went from 8 all the way to 0 and then back up on the antennas; no more than 2 feet away from me. I didn't' see it in the goggles and between it starting and ending, I placed on ground to fly. Went up, tried inverted yaw and lost nearly all signal so I disarmed. Came down about 200 yds into a plowed field as if I had just set it down; no damage, prop issues, nothing. Worried me and a bit more cautious but flew the next day without issue.
I've had my HDZero goggles since pre-order and I still can't get used to the way the image breaks up. I do really love the low latency and hope it gets better penetration in the near future. I'll be skipping on the 1w since it seems to be about the same other then the form factor. hoping a V2 whoop VTX will come out soon since that's the main platform it makes sense on. (I don't race)
15:34 looks really greenish even more saturated like dji usually - reminds me of 40 shades of green an Ireland, but I know Wales is on the other side of the irish sea. But really an intensive green for october or september assuming that this is not footage from may or so.
Im going to assume you saw Chris Rosser's video? If so, it would have been nice if you could confirm your VTX was actually putting out the full 1W and did not suffer the same weird "only 250mW with tight screws" bug Chris had. If you havent seen it, go watch it. And please let us know what you think could possibly cause it!
I just purchased a new Crux 35 with this vtx. The $250.00 quad came with no documentation and totally messed up from HDZero. I had to reload Betaflight and the target is different than the one sold by Happymodel. HDZero was absolutely HDZero help, get it LOL!
Thank you so much for the flight footage. I find the range to be great at LOS, okeyish through canopy, but not good for concrete walls. I hope they'll add an option to double the latency just for the bandos. Already ordered.
perhaps but I don't think hdz has that capability. It's transmission works like analogue, it's a one way system what ever you get is what you got no retransmit and no change in latency or any way to adjust it @@miquelmarti6537
@@wlgrd7052 yeah they added some extra modes, like the 450@90hz wich penetrates better. They also made the 1w compact freestyle vtx and corrected some bugs for the analog reciever. Definetly some improvements, but still not the best system for bandos. PS: footage will always favor dji/ws because the glitches and freezing are only seen through the googles.
Enjoyed the video, one question though. I know how to go into narrow bandwidth on the goggles menu, what actually goes into narrow bandwidth the goggles or the vtx? Just curious!

Only separation helps with the gps lock. I've been battling this problem sinse the system came out. What I do is use a GPS mate, insulate wires, and distance.
I prefer HDZ image to DJI because I fly over grass / close to the ground or in a forest a lot which is rendered much cleaner in HDZ. DJI just turns into a pixelate mess.
looks tiny in your fingers - or you might have big hands. I guess I will gor for the dji Air or mini 4 pro in november and therefore will get dji goggles again for my plane and boat stuff cause I do not build drones, only get dji drones to get some nice footage, but I love to watch your videos and usually write a comment just to kick yt somewhere that they push your videos cause these build videos and such complex products offer a lot of value an are watched by too few. I still wonder how you are able to deliver the amount of videos considering that it takes a lot of time to watch your weekly content but it must take multiple times of that to create and edit these videos. I am just a dji guy at the end cause I want to enjoy flying and filming cause I spend a lot time for my planes and do not wanna crash a drone like I crashed my planes cause I bet the damage ratio would be a lot higher. I am more or less happy with what dji offers or that one I buy and stay with, even though dji has a lot room to improve. thanks - great video and product, but not for me.

Nano cameras have been around for a long time. where have you been? The camera will come with an adapter to make it 19mm. You can also get a micro to full size adapter if needed from runcam. This camera is targeted for racers hence being a nano.
I pre-ordered one and I can't wait to get it. I just got my HDZero goggles last week and I'm so in love with them even with analog.

the mushy grass is the one and only feature that made me move from DJI to HDZERO
Yes this! I hate how DJI and Walksnail smear out the grass to 1 blurry texture

Mine is fine this is why I did not discuss it. My video was delayed to do all the testing to ensure it’s not affected.

@@tubsucks I think ELRS does it without the need for telemetry. Just send the same packet twice and discard duplicates on the receiver.

The VTX but the goggles need to know to look for it. So the video carrier from the VTX drops from 27mhz down to below 20mhz wide.

It's hard to say "bombproof" when you tested on grass, please slap it on concrete and see if it still works

? So it the power is highest on R1, has anyone tested output power on the newly unlocked low band channels?
Chris Rosser released a video recently about the freestyle V2, and I think it has this data.
It will be also be dropping off compared to R1. That’s the tuned band.
