      I started out looking at Class B's, then B+, then C, then cargo vans, then small shuttle busses, Astro vans, mini vans and I finally decided to just live in my SUV. Simple, easy and no payments. Can go anywhere.

      @@Maganite was recently looking for other vehicles after mine got hit but a beautiful deer.. absolutely included SUVs as I've seen some great layouts n setups in many..decided to fix my minivan n keep saving..my dream tho is an astro/safari/Savana or a 2012 transit connect..or in fantasyland it would be a very small like 18-20 ft motor home..,

      As for "camping" in a Walmart... it should be obvious that it's private property and they take on a degree of liability for any person just parking on their lot, even with their permission.

    At the moment, I'm traveling with my hubby, our 2 dogs and cat. In this version of travel, we are in our truck and 25 foot trailer. We have utilized a lot of casinos and Walmarts over the years. They are a great '1 nighter' stop most of the time. Some casinos (more before covid, which changed a lot of things) allow multiple nights, which is awesome if you want to drop the trailer and explore without the beast being dragged behind you. We have always enjoyed staying at both the Desert Diamonds in Tucson, and the one in Phoenix The rules have changed this past year though, so we didn't spend as much time in Tucson as we usually do this year. But, it's still great of the casinos, and now more and more Walmarts, to let RVs spend the night. We really appreciate it and feel it just makes for an easy stop when you are traveling through. Never had an issue in any of our stops at these kinds of places.

    24x7 casinos are great places to park. Most encourage it as they know sooner or later you'll give in to your tempations and come inside to lose some cash...The lots are on video and sometimes patrolled. Have never been told to leave...

    I was just thinking-always dangerous, is there a purpose in lots of driving around. Perhaps having adventures along the way. I found this to be extraordinarily tough even as a young guy in my early twenties. Pretty tough on the body sitting so long eating takeout food high in carbs as you peel away the miles. Because getting from one side of the Island to another involved crossing a mountain range, eating and driving at the same time would have been dangerous because of reduced concentration and requireing both hands on the wheel . Latter, the transalpine route was changed to follow the old river bed far below making the journey much easier especially for the tractor and trailer rigs that were becoming larger as freight levels rose.
    Now in my mid seventies I've clearly survived the dangers

    Tortellini looks delish...I'm smack dab in the middle of two casinos both about 45 minutes from me..one south one north..both allow overnight x 3 days max but ofc want you to visit n spend some cash..I'm cheap..actually I'm poor so I have to be thrifty n I don't mind parking lots one bit..I actually prefer them bc then I don't feel so alone like out in the woods alone..love the woods just scary at night alone😟🥴happy travels, stay safe✌️💜😊

    One of the small benefits to travel in a van is to make your own coffee 😊 free ice from Wawa bento size, one spoon of Nescafe, $4 Walmart coffee brand, for the price of 1 cup at Starbucks you can make around 100 cups of coffee add 2 free packages of cream free from the gas station splash of water and sugar.Bada bing,bada boom Upgrade your coffee moment 🎉 used Starbucks only for a restroom and chill, or free bento cup of ice, used your money wisely, special when you travel.❤ People try to save 5 cents in gas, making your own coffee you save $400.

    What about cooking in the van? Healthier meals made at home, I believe.

    • @MyCleverHandle
      @MyCleverHandle ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really. Mostly, you depend on canned goods. Salt, starch and fat, just like fast food. You're not storing fresh greens and meats in your little fridge, bc it takes too much time and space to prepare these foods. You're storing canned and botted beverages and condiments. Maybe the leftover half sandwich from Subway from three days ago. Then there's clean up time and trash disposal. You have to keep moving, you can't cook a healthful, full meal while you're parked at the curb in some residential neighborhood. Maybe you can microwave some ramen noodles or canned chili. And cooking a real meal in a WalMart or Cracker Barrel parking lot? You'll attract those who are worse off than you are. Charity is important, but you're not there to be social. Unless you want to be accused of soliciting more than just "friendship."
