    1. Prepare : managing is different than doing tasks. HR, policies, culture, continuous education for yourself : EQ, team dynamics,
    2. Know from your own manager how they want you to operate and expect what
    3. Know your team : strengths and weaknesses
    4. Find a mentor ; to bounce off ideas and situations

    I feel like I’m slowly but surely developing into a managed and although I believe I have what it takes to go far in my career, I’m also afraid of being a bad manager who isn’t liked by the team and doesn’t bring results. Maybe it’s not a good mantra but I keep on telling myself that there are so many really bad managers out there who have years of management experience that in the end, I’m probably too hard on myself with my own expectations of excellence. Off course everyone wants to nail the first management job but it’s really an experiment 😅

    • @AdrianaGirdler
      @AdrianaGirdler  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for sharing. If you believe in your skills then try to take yourself into a more positive mindset. No one gets everything right the first time but that is how we grow if we take the time to learn from out mistakes. You've got this and I wish you great success as you more forward in your life and career. Thanks for watching, cheers!

    I like the idea of power hour. I am a soon to be a closing manager. And most of my important tasks are done at the end of day. Telling my employees that they have to step it up at the end of the day, so I can do those things will be easier with this catchphrase.

    • @AdrianaGirdler

    2:49 "Can you give me insight on some individuals?" I like that
    What are some other questions a project manager can ask to get to know their team whether speaking to a manager or team in a non-management role?
    What advice might you have for project managers with introverted characteristics?

    • @AdrianaGirdler
      @AdrianaGirdler  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So glad you like the video. I have lots of other videos on team building which could be a nice and fun way to get to know your team better. When you get to know someone just don’t stick to what they do, ask them about their family, hobbies and other things that are important to them. Get to know the person, not just their role.
      Regarding your last question…introvert or extrovert…just be prepared, have everything your team needs and set them up for success.
      Thanks for watching. Cheers!

    i am 24 debating on accepting an offer for the manager role at the gym im employed at. my current manager is going to be moving to another state on short notice due to some.. personal life complications. she offered me the role. im a cleaner right now, mind you, i love this gym. i pour myself into how i clean and i work my ass off. i just have never been in a manager role. i dont have to worry about any employees because it was just me and her, small gym. i am currently in school, no degree, and ive never believed in myself to accept higher up roles.. this time is different. i want to do it, but i am so terrified of fucking up or not walking in my bosses footsteps.. she did amazing work here. she said she would train me in 2 weeks before she leaves, but what if im not good enough? what if i ruin the gym?

    • @AdrianaGirdler
      @AdrianaGirdler  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Morgan. The first thing you need to do is muster up that confidence. It already sounds like you are a dedicated, hard working individual so why would that change taking on a new position, just something to think about :)
      I believe you've got this and will do wonderful things for the gym. Wishing you all the best and hope that 2023 unfolds perfectly for you. Cheers!
