    About two years ago I walked into salt lake Motorsports, I was greeted buy a salesman who took the time to answer my questions and did a very good job explaining everything to me. when I walked out I had a monster 1200 S on order.
    a year passed and my motorcycle was finally in. They explained that Salt lake Motorsports had been bought out buy Harrison Euro sports and that most of the old employees had not transferred to the new location. I felt rely bad that I was not able to thank the man that had helped me so much when I ordered the bike. Just now by complete accident I stumbled upon this video and recognized Dave. Dave thank you so much for helping me out that day. With your info I now have the bike of my dreams.
    Bryce.

    Thanks a lot for your video. Based on your video I made that upgrade last winter 22/23 to my Multistrada 2012. But I chose the M4 Brembos. They watch more like the original P4, my concerns regarding authorothies here in Switzerland. Spiegler Germany helped with the right brake lines. Hey, what a great upgrade, and with the M4‘s I get even more stopping power.
    But for such an upgrade you should also stiffen your suspension. I have stiffer springs ( front 9N/mm, rear 130N/mm) and totally modified rebound and compression setup. What a great bike, it goes solo or fully loaded with wife and baggage in a perfect way. Brakes are Alps and Dolomits proven. No other Multistrada delivers that enormous rideable torque from the bottom to the top!

    Very good Video, I upgraded my Dutch MTS 1200 1 1/2 Year ago with the Black M4 Calipers,after seeing your posting, very good improvement of the braking characteristics. Also the modify brakeline was also handy :-) Please not that the ABS needs the factory Software Update , to max the upgrade.

    I would go for pure m4 aftermarket calipers instead of the m50. I remember when ducati came out with the m50 calipers and many owners that were racing their panigales changed their calipers to aftermarket m4 because they were pure racing calipers.

    I needed to flush out the old fluid on my Z1000, so I bought, Motul DOT4 fluid, Hel brake lines, EBC HH pads, Brembo M4 calipers, Brembo RSC brake master cylinder, Magura HyMec hydraulic clutch conversion, Magura HC1 clutch master to match the Brembo RSC, Magura Blood and a MityVac. Gotta love motorcycles...... I know my bank account doesn't.

    during replacement install stahlbus bleeder or speedbleeder on you caliper and handpump it's help a lot of iif you later flush or replace your brakefluid 😉

    better go for the brembo M4. Those have 34 mm pistons vs the 32 of the M50. With the 34 mm pistons and the original main brake cilinder the "breaking feel" is right in the sweet spot.

    Hello, congratulations for your videos! They are really well made! I'd need some advice if you can. I should replace the rear brake cylinder of my Monster 821abs because after several kilometers the pedal goes all the way down and i'd like having an efficient rear brake. How can I do to drain my rear brake? Do I have to do something on ABS? Can I empty it simply by connecting a hose to the rear caliper and suck the brake fluid with a syringe? Thank you.

    M50s only on the 1200S & 1260S though. Base models get the lesser brembo caliper.

  • @leoadiguna4438

    Why don’t you use M4 34 mm? I thought bigger piston produce bigger power
    M50 only 30 mm for piston.
    It makes me very cpnfused to choose which one the best caliper

    • @CanyonChasers
      @CanyonChasers  ปีที่แล้ว

      M4's and M50s are so similar in overall design and performance (we've run them both on multiple bikes), you'd be hard pressed to distinguish a difference. The problem is the P4s have thin walled pistons that flex.

    Hey I love your web site and your videos I have a 2013 multiawesome with a centerstand. I have done one oil change so far and I have to remove the center stand and skid plates, is their any simpler way?

    • @CanyonChasers
      @CanyonChasers  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can, but we honestly just remove the centerstand. To keep the centerstand in place, you remove all the bolts on the front of the sump-guard and the front of it will drop down, then you have to create a flat funnel like thing using cardboard and aluminum foil to create a gold-sleuth/trap shape to channel the oil from the drain bolt to the catch pan. This is how our local dealer does it, but we think it's just as fast to remove the centerstand and sump-guard, then clean everything. Less spills that way.

    • @Hpynos2010
      @Hpynos2010 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      CanyonChasers Motorcycle Sport Touring There is a really simple mod that you can do to the bellypan's center section that allows you to remove it without having to deal with removing the centerstand. Slot the two rearmost holes so you can pull it straight out of the rubber grommets; you don't even have to loosen the pair of allen-headed bolts. Ever since I did this access to my drain bolt and oil filter has been reduced to the time it takes to loosen the side pan pieces. Extremely simple and effective!

    • @TMCmakes
      @TMCmakes 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      We all eventually modded our belly pans to allow the center stand to stay on. 😁

    Hi everyone!
    I'm in the mood of upgrading front brake calipers from oem Brembo P4 to M50, in my MULTI 1200 abs 2012. Did you have any issue with abs control unit?
    The volume of brake fluid has changed after the modification; so do you advise a new tuning of the abs control unit.
    Thanks

    • @CanyonChasers
      @CanyonChasers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope. It's basically plug and play. The ABS unit doesn't care about any of that stuff.

    Hi Mate, Do we need to replace the Master cylinder to, when performing this Brembo M50 upgrade ? Doing some research some forum community suggest to replace the master cylinder to as the Brembo M50 will need a master Cylinder 16 mm rather than 19 mm like the M4. is the Spiegler hose kit will include the hose to the Master cylinder to ? Do you have any recommendation on the disk kit should we replace it to for better handling of the brembo ( it will be great if you can give advise on the kit to use), it will be great if you can help. Thank you again for this Super video really amazing.

    • @CanyonChasers
      @CanyonChasers  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      pen tux Some sources do claim that you need a new master cylinder, but that has not been our experience. The OEM master cylinder pairs with the M50 calipers perfectly, providing exceptional brake feel, not wooden, vague or mushy. The Speigler kit only replaces the line from the ABS pump to the calipers. Once we upgraded the calipers, we no longer felt a need for different brake rotors, so we cannot advise on which new rotors would work best. Hope this helps.

    • @CanyonChasers
      @CanyonChasers  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      pen tux The problem with the rear brake has nothing to do with the rotors, the brake lines, or the ABS pump. Rear brake fade is caused by the rear brake lines running in close proximity to the catalytic convert/header pipes. The only way to maintain good rear brake feel is to bleed the rear brake regularly, or find some way to relocate the line and/or build some sort of heat shield. Our next video shows a quick way to bleed the rear brake.

    Hi. Have you had much problem with the fuel sensor on your MTS1200? My 2013 has been through 2 fuel sensors (replaced by dealer). Trying to fire it up today and I get a fuel sensor failure on the dash. Any advice? Thank you.

    • @CanyonChasers
      @CanyonChasers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Amazingly. Mine has never failed. But I think I'm the only one. I suspect its because I almost never run fuel with ethanol. But, we have a few dead fuel sensors that we are going to try to take apart to see if they can be fixed. There are a few videos on youtube, in vietnamese I think, that claim to be fixing them.

    • @gg48gg
      @gg48gg 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CanyonChasers Yeah I think I saw that video back when my first sensor failed. I am no novice to soldering electronics but it was hard to understand what that person was trying to accomplish. Maybe as simple as cleaning contacts or replacing a component. On the bright side, my sensor error was probably a bad battery and low voltage. When I connected a 15amp charger the sensor error went away, hopefully for good. New battery is coming this week.
      By the way, do you have an easy method for draining the fuel tank that doesn't require removing the plastic and tank?

  • @freedomd333
    @freedomd333 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do they have abs line for aprilia? Most of aftermarket one doesn't feature abs function.

    • @CanyonChasers
      @CanyonChasers  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For a motorcycle to have ABS, it has to have a special ABS pump, usually under the seat, and the computer (ECU) needs to be programmed for that function. It's not something you could easily retrofit to another bike.
