Jones’ guitar sounds like a building coming down! Kurt Cobain said seeing him on TV in the 70’s made him wanna pick up a guitar. I’m eternally grateful.
That singing, half singing half speaking. That accent. And, that last line 'We don't care' sums up the whole song and Punk subculture in a nutshell. What a perfect line to end the song!
They were considered a bit naff in 1996. The tour didn't really capture the public imagination. Same with David Bowie - he couldn't give away tickets in the mid/late 1990s
@@chrisjames6327 Wrong, I was there, they were selling out every gig they played. Also, don't compare that commercial pop star, Bowie, with the Sex Pistols, they're far superior in every way.
The guitar is amazing Jones is a beast playing in a band with only 1 guitar he s doing all.the muted sound/chords progression/short riffs/short solo s every thing is perfect and the final two A chords are brilliant.the band is really strong.the pistols are the best!!!
I was at the show in Glasgow in 96. Was one of the highlights of my life. So glad they reformed because I was just too young to see them in 77. Love the pistols ❤
Yeah. At the time I didn't believe they could come back and put on a decent show. I'm surprised how good they were. Maybe having Glen back made the difference.
yeh i was there as well. remember how hot it was, and the tailbacks going in as they only had 1 road going into the festival. did you see those whirlwinds that went round the site, 1 of them took a blokes tent up with it, everyone watched it fly off and cheered, it was like something out of the wizard of oz.
This is SO COOL!! Great performance and video. I LOVE the Sex Pistols!! One of my favourite bands of all time. I was probably about 4 or 5 when this was recorded. Oh and I LOVE Johnnys hair!!
Siempre Sex Pistols !! 🎸🧷
Absolutely love this, I'm only 38 but wish I could of been their the 1st time around, Thing is I'm a massive Queen fan, The Darkness etc but this is the band to play at weekends with Captain Morgans and annoy the neighbours 💪💪🥃🥃

That'll never happen. They've got their own projects elsewhere, and I don't think any of them would imagine it would be possible to do a new studio album. It could never match the impact of Bollocks. The Pistols will continue to get together every now and then, when they need a bit of cash, but I'm sure they'll never write songs together again.
imbecilik tbh one last reunion tour would be fine with me, being 17 I was only 8 when they last played in 2008, so I really hope they can do one last tour
I was up in the front row at Finsbury and Shepherd's Bush Empire in 1996. At the park, before the Pistols came out, all the press photographers put on raincoats/plastic covers. I laughed.... then the gobbing started. By the time I left that night we were absolutely covered. It wasa glorious gig...but Shepherd's Bush was even better, being a smaller, sweatier event ( and happily...less gobbing ). In the park it seemed a but weird....Punk's better with a roof. haha

"like a building coming down"...fantastic! And agreed..
2 big sounds with Neil Young
Yeah, a chainsaw with a strap. 😁
You can thank Bill Price for that sound not, Steve Jones.
And seeing Sid Vicious made him want to blow his own head off I guess.

Couldn't have said it better myself!!!
my old man raised me on this shit.
the guitars here are fucking THUNDEROUS ✊🏻🏴🇬🇧
Why the actual fook the entire gig was not recorded and presented like this superb video will forever remain one of life's mysteries.

the best
I've been listening to the Sex Pistols since I was 12 years old. Today I am 42 years old and I continue to listen to them.

How old were you in 96?
The Greatest Band ever !
The opening riff is one of my favourites of all time. It's so simple to play and sounds so good.
One of the greatest songs ever written. Captured the mood of the nation.

You are so lucky.
Not many know, or appreciated the Pistols.
I was privileged to have their music in my time.
Of all the gigs I've been to starting in 1979 and I've been to a hell of a lot, this was by far the best...
Never a band left their footprint like the Pistols did,,,,,1976-2023
The one and only rebel band in history of rock
One of my all time favourite songs..!
me, too ... hy ^^
In history, the massive phenomenon has only been seen 4 times: Elvis, The Beatles, Sex Pistols and Nirvana.

Como ha pasado el tiempo, estuve ahi, lo pasé genial, la raja como decimos los chilenos, que manera de carretear, jajaja quisiera volver a 1996.

No, I can't... John fucking sucked live really bad @ 2008 (I saw them @Hodokvas festival).
On their 2002 reunion they apparently recorded some instrumental demos of new songs but Johnny Rotten didn't want to sing to them!
Seeing this comment now when Paul Cook pretty much confirmed that the Pistols are never getting together again makes me feel some pain lol
"Don't ya feel you have been cheated?"
"Ever get the feeling..."
