@@MeynMotorGroup Agreed. What the keyboard warriors don't get and people who actually love cars and pay bills do get is that all those go fast high performance parts are expensive. For car manufactures to sell these cars at a reasonable price they are not making a big profit over each car. I do not take any of it for granted. Keep up the great work.
I liked the brighter green of the earlier Hakone better. In this video, this version is hard to distinguish from the gray - a pretty boring color for a sports car.
@willw1564 it's kinda funny because there is turbo kits for the car. Like if they cared about power that much there is plenty of cars to buy or just do it yourself.
Hello All. Are there any current owners who can provide an info for long term reliability??? RTV issues…oil starvation…Subaru engine unreliable…etc??? Thank you
General “lifetime” for these engines are looking around the 150-260K mark online so far. Subarus FA24 is more reliable than previous gen but its RTV issue is still persistent after all these years. 😒 I’d have Toyota or a trusted body shop take off the oil pan take all the RTV off and get any if it’s in the oil pickup and have it reseal with an appropriate amount. In regard to the oil starvation, you’d have to be under basically track conditions for this to occur and it only happens when turning right as far as I’ve seen. If you do regular maintenance and take care of it, you’ll have no problem taking this car beyond its limits of its lifetime. 👍
@@Excalabur50 yea def a bit more space in this vs Miata for taller people and this is far more practical as it comes with rear seats for additional storage
You're crazy as hell if you think they will only charge an extra $500. You need $10,000 in supporting mods if you turbo the boxer engine now. The GR Corolla cost $40,000+ with dealerships marking them up $5000, and that's before the OTD price. The car wouldn't have the "affordable sports car" title and not be aftermarket friendly.
@@Zoloist If you’re in the comments you’re obviously a car guy. You honestly think the new 1.6 3 cylinder single turbo motor costs more to manufacture than the current GR86 Boxster? I seriously doubt it. Two separate everything on the top end. They could drop it in, charge the same, and make more profit. If they raise the price too much, nobody will buy it.
@@salimrandall Yeah, but we're running into a problem. You're putting more power into a lightweight vehicle which would be significantly faster than the Corolla. Which you would need to literally upgrade everything so the car feels more premium. We're talking upgrader brakes, wheels, tires, intercooler, interior, etc., so it would pretty much cost more, so the car wouldn't be as "affordable," meaning fewer units sold; the GR86 is doing well to 11,000 + units sold. Corolla is also doing well. It's one of the best hot hatches to buy right now.
@MeynMotorGroup the 2025 BRZ will have improved suspension, steering, and throttle control through a sports button. The changes are the same as the GR 86 for 2025 except that GR 86 doesn't use a sports button to calibrate the throttle mapping. The 2025 BRZ with these changes are already on sale in Japan, and the news has been out for a couple of weeks. I have not seen any news about a BRZ special edition like the Hakone, however.

If this was in my current budget, I would order one today. Absolutely perfect color spec, package, and it's a manual.

As much as I love this car. The drivetrain is old enough to be my dad. Plz put the gr corolla 3 cyl turbo In this thing.

At 35k, that's a lot of car for the money.

Remind me again when this model gets a turbo or a Toyota engine
Facts. A redesign with the 3 cylinder engine would go bonkers
This car will never get a turbo as they said. Man if Toyota built the engine though, that would go crazy
Everybody wants a turbo motor. Then complain about why the car costs 40k. More power always equates to more cost.

What do you think they might add in future year models?

They did do a 30 year anniversary mx5 in 2019
