Underwater ASMR Ambience: Kelp Forest

The movements of the kelp forests of Subnautica are absolutely mesmerizing! Here's a little over one hour of their soft, fluttering movements combined with soft, barely noticeable music, bubbles, schools of small fish and a few peepers swimming by. There are also several day/night cycles, and the light changes a lot throughout the video.

I thought it was so adorable how the sideways hammerhead shark things played with the metal scrap pieces that I would rescue from the ocean floor for my base.
Until I scanned a tooth and learned that they chewed on the metal pieces to make their teeth sharper..

They also do it because the sheen of the metal is similar to the sheen of the scales that cover their prey.

Ah, the kelp forest. Where frame rate goes to die. To your credit, it wasn't too bad. Luckily, I'm here for the ambiance so that was stellar as usual. Well done.

The Kelp Forest has got to be my favorite biome in Subnautica (mainly because its the least life-threatening biome, minus the Stalkers). To me, its the perfect place to build a base. Its a calm and mostly quiet/peaceful noise-filled biome, despite the low frame rates.

i have a lot of dreams that take place in the kelp forest, or something very similar to it. this music is always playing in the background

I love the slight synth in the background, the only other biomes you can hear it in are the Grassy Plateaus and Mushroom Forests, which are also peaceful biomes. The rest are just water noises.
