I really enjoyed getting back into Total War: Warhammer 2, and the Empire rework in Mortal Empires is proper awesome. Might give that a go on a livestream. I'm making a few non-ArmA videos to give myself some breathing space and relief as I'm currently trying to get a new house.

Yes the Platypus looks strange, Yes its teeth (unlike many creatures in Australia) are harmless to people. Don't Pet The Platypus. It has Venomous spurs and will stab you. Just stay back: unless you see the spiders, at which point hide BEHIND the Platypus. Its kin have survived the spiders far longer than humans have. But watch out for the Crocs. The Dinos got eaten by the spiders, but the Crocs live on, that is a sign of just how dangerous THOSE are.

As a Dutch person, I tend to break out in laughter at the lizardmen names. Some of those are literally 2 Dutch words with an apostrophe in between. Stuff that translates to Gimme'Food, Kitty'litter, etc. Send me a non-legendary lord name from the lizardmen and I can probably translate it for you.
How about Ra'Tul, it's the name of a Slaan I saw in another TW Warhammer 2 campaign

There are _definitely_ Dutch devs among Warhammer 2. The generic names for High Elves (Yasmijn) en Skaven (Can't recall, but there's a few) have a suspicious touch.

So i decided to read that Kotaku article... it actually isnt terrible.
its criticising how the game is being scornful to the colonial powers and corrupt religious figures, but feeks like is railroading you to play the polite and diplomatic game, using the criticism as just window dressing. they also admit it may get better further on, as they are still quite early in.
New 100% Lore Friendly lore Warhammer DLC. Im pretty sure theres a codex somewhere that says something about the time Markus Wolfhart made negotiations with the Skaven to siege Lizardman cities its fine, GW just hasnt written it yet
more hilarious is when after the peace treaty the Dinos can potentially ask you for a defensive pact and alliance.
So the quests say 'eat the dinos' while your Diplomats say 'They are our greatest ally against the threat of (Orcs? Nonexistance Ratfolk? Angry Trees? Evil quadrapedal horsepeople? Vampires?)

The best bit is skaven will often be your best allies and will nearly always back you up. Mandy the end times was them emerging to help the empire, meeting Italians and the deciding humanity was a lost cause.

You can read the stories about the hunters in the screen that shows you their current missions, and it adds more as you complete more of their missions. You can read the story about that red-haired vampire that the Witch Hunter killed in that pop-up as you progress through his missions.

I love how you made a pact with the non humans even tho your for the empire and you even used them in you battle. But I would also personally like To see more
The Empire isn't as xenophobic as you think. Halflings (which are annoying, thieving, and gluttonous bastards, rather than Tolkien's pretty likable Hobbits) live amongst Humans, they have a strong alliance with the Dwarfs, a less prominent one with the High Elves, and frequently use Ogres as Mercenaries in the lore. Against other races, like the Wood Elves and Lizardmen, they have a more neutral approach (though they don't know much about the latter, nor do they have much contact).
The only non-human races they actually *hate* are Beastmen and Greenskins, for obvious reasons, the Dark Elves, because they enslave people and raid the Empire's shores, as well as anything Undead or Chaos-related. They are also hostile towards Skaven, but they have a massive conspiracy in order to suppress information about them (that's where the "Ratmen in the Sewers? Don't exist." coming from), because a literal empire of billions of crazy, technologically advanced Ratmen living right beneath their feet would cause a bit of a panic among the populace.
Well, an Alliance between the Empire and the Skaven (whose existence the Imperial government actively *denies* to the point where everyone mentioning them is thrown in the loony bin) wouldn't happen in the lore, which makes what happened here even funnier.
I just love how Warhammer fantasy and Warhammer 40k can both be so serious and comical at the same time.

Part of me keeps hoping that games like this and Vermintide will make WHFB popular enough for GW to revive it as a spin-off “what-if” type series
Sigmar and the shite leading up to it should've been the "what if". I can see what they were trying but it was done so badly and instead of introducing it as a separate game type from WHFB they dropped a really fun - albeit difficult to.market for.beginners - table too game for another skirmish game.
Seriously man the way it all went down makes me salty enough to preserve meat throughout the winter.

There is nothing wrong with Colonialism. It is simply the way of Nature that the Strong will dominate the Weak.
The group of dinos is a rite that the lizard men can take. You can use it every 50 turns or so and it costs 8400. Its literaly the best thing ever unles they get attacked as soon as they show up
