The layoffs don't worry me at all. They're either management or labelers. Management can get bloated, and labelers were always going to be short-term, since as FSD gets closer you need fewer of them. They're still adding production workers, and that's what matters.
This. Layoffs are waaaay overblown (long-term) & don’t mention Tesla is still committed to full-throttle production expansion - where it matters. Tesla will likely drop for Q2, buying opportunity for me.
Normally production workers are the easiest and first to go. But they are needed up until the last moment as the company won't fire anyone as long as they can sell the last car. Elon is being remarkably foresightful and prudent by actually culling the management before that happens. Consider this as your warning which another CEO wouldn't give you.
layoffs is good… if a company keeps going one direction / they can become stale layoffs cuts the bad crop off - so new additions have the ability to come in later and allow new ideas to flow in and the company is always streamlining… good stuff so - this is a good chance to buy smart…. as we know there is going to be some downward pressure.

The fsdfsd layoffs of data labeling appear to be from a point where they're going automated which should be quite bullish.

Sell? I'm about to sell a kidney to buy more Tesla one year from now this will be considered a bargain. I had to create a self rule that forbids me from leveraging because even with this fall I'm positive 250% and I bought the deep and because of that short term I'm negative 18% before that I was positive 500%+ let's say I got lucky and had to make a bunch of rules to not be a donkey.

Yes you are right and they actually cam in at almost 260! Everything is priced in as of know! What you really have to pay attention for is that June was the highest production month ever in history despite all the challenges! So going forward Q3 and Q4 will surprise so many people if things go a little smoother from now on and there are no lockdowns for Gig Shanghai 🚀

Agree Q2 numbers may not be good but the market is forward looking, 3-6 months ahead. Many companies have had great earnings, but lowered forecasts and got hammered. Tesla will be doing the opposite, possibly poor earning but will probably give guidance of increased growth for the remainder of the year. Will be interesting to see how the market responds
Hey question about the stock split for tesla. Im down at the moment but when the split happens will I still get the 3 for 1 or does my shares get altered depending on how much I'm down??
I agree the Tesla faces short term headwinds, and will most likely warn prior to their Q2 report, but after their June numbers are in. Personally, I think the biggest issue is that both of their new giga factories are ramping slower than expected, and the 4680 line in particular has been unexpectedly problematic. Both these huge cash drains will show a big impact in the Q2 numbers. The only thing I can think of that will somewhat offset this, is the model S and to a smaller extent model X margins (fully ramped now ?), and giga Shanghai ramp up after Covid both being better than expected. Lastly, Freemont appears to be running at higher volumes than projected as well 👍. I’m still concerned that these will not outweigh the slow ramps for the two giga factories and the 4680 line

As long as supply chains for Tesla are not worse than they were in the chip-shortage days, it’ll be OK. So far, the War itself seems to not impact Tesla materially. Q2 will likely suck & yes, expect the dip is likely to continue dipping for a time because of Q2. Germany has 8% inflation rate, not really worse than in the USA. I’m expecting 400-500$ Tesla stock price, at the absolute worst - time will tell. Enjoy

I agree and I think it's pretty obvious where most stocks are going....downhill for a short to medium term, I much prefer this investing scenario to the crazy "everything is going to the moon " we've had for too long, that was only ever going end up bursting and was uninvestable apart from speculation/ trading. At least now we can take our time, trade a little here and there and invest slowly whilst prices are lower.

The layoffs did happen after Elon tweeted about remote workers and his warning on the economy. I think maybe he was being preemptive in cutting back the workforce.
You're right and if I was looking for a quick return on my investment I would be worried. However, as a long-term investor I have basically written off this year and look forward to next year or even the year after. I wouldn't put too much emphasis on the layoffs. As long as Elon continues to hire people for the factories, I'm happy.

EV’s are a more cost-attractive investment now, for many.
As long as supply chains for Tesla are not worse than they were in the chip-shortage days, it’ll be OK.
So far, the War itself seems to not impact Tesla materially.
Q2 will likely suck & yes, expect the dip is likely to continue dipping for a time because of Q2.
Germany has 8% inflation rate, not really worse than in the USA.
I’m expecting 400-500$ Tesla stock price, at the absolute worst - time will tell.

I agree and I think it's pretty obvious where most stocks are going....downhill for a short to medium term,
I much prefer this investing scenario to the crazy "everything is going to the moon " we've had for too long, that was only ever going end up bursting and was uninvestable apart from speculation/ trading.
At least now we can take our time, trade a little here and there and invest slowly whilst prices are lower.

The layoffs did happen after Elon tweeted about remote workers and his warning on the economy. I think maybe he was being preemptive in cutting back the workforce.
It seems when a genius in another field tries to predict the market they usually have no clue what they are talking about.
You're right and if I was looking for a quick return on my investment I would be worried. However, as a long-term investor I have basically written off this year and look forward to next year or even the year after. I wouldn't put too much emphasis on the layoffs. As long as Elon continues to hire people for the factories, I'm happy.
