I did that with a bicycle when I was a kid. Racing down the grassy verge seeing big mounds of dirt so I thought I'd jump one. Only once I crested that particular dirt mound did I notice that there was a great big hole on the other side. I shoved off my bike enough to catch the other side and just slide down rather than fall. Lucky for me it was only about eight feet deep with a huge ... wheel on a pipe (to turn the flow on/off, I guess) that my bike landed on and I slid down to stand on my bike. I was able to toss my bike out and when I climbed out I saw a bunch of cars just... stopped in the road, gawking. None of them got out to come check on me and drove on when I gave them a thumbs up. I was just spooked, didn't even get many scratches. But I never jumped a dirt mound again without doing a full ride around it first!
Honestly, I’ve gone airborn off the road from falling asleep twice this year, once was going 60 mph, flew off the road and hit a tree dead on in mid air and just barley survived. Gotta work 12 hour shifts 6 days a week just to get by.

No, they aren't. Also remember that they must submit their traffic control plans to the overseeing government agency for approval before they begin their work. Let's not put the blame where it doesn't belong.
I see no barriers or construction signs, just a few orange things around there. It’s easy to see how this could happen if it was extremely dark at that time. There were no signs showing it was a trench. Headlights wouldn’t help, cuz suddenly you drive over the edge And the car falls front down. People saying the woman “needs to control her car better” are all wet, cuz, like I said, I see NO signage designating construction or a trench.
Yet thousands of other motorists somehow manage to drive through that same area, facing those exact same road conditions with no issue. So YES, she does need to control her car better.
They said this happened after midnight. The notion that “thousands” drove through there with no problem is no excuse for not putting signs or barriers around a deep trench. The reporter’s explanation wasn’t very good, and she said nobody yet knows for sure what exactly happened. She didn’t explain clearly at all why the lady drove over the curb. Easy to criticize when you don’t know the whole story. She could have had a need to pull off the road for some reason, and like I said, the reporter said it was after midnight. The fact that the car landed like it did, to me, indicates she was driving very very slow.
@gerriebell2128 there is video footage of the incident and no, she was not driving slow. She went flying, Dukes of Hazard style, over a dirt mound and landed in the trench. I am not exaggerating, you can view the clip right here on TH-cam.
