She spent 20 years after that leading a program to help connect disabled people with employment in their fields, being a liaison with large corporations and advocating for disabled people nationally and at the state level. A very moving song that feels perfect for the time we're in.
Yes not just with the Vegas shooting. But as well as when the movie came out, I was in the near end of my freshman year of high school. When I used to think of the song, it makes me aware of me embarking on the journey to growing up. To being at the high point of education and life where you get to face the darkness and light in the world. And I still have far to go in life being in my 20's and feeling like my age in a teenager's size body. But now looking back, it helps me remember the song and laughter Miley brought to our boyhoods/girlhoods.

Not only its my childhood but it has an amazing memory of mine attached to it.. Bieng an introvert who loves to perform (sing) in front of an audience and showcase my talent, i was never given a chance to do so. I was however in my school choir but my voice was lost amoung the others. This was the first song i performed solo at a school function, in front of the whole school, and gained huge recognition and praise. After that incident i have always been the lead singer or solo singer for a lot of performances. Not only that but the lyrics of this song used to and still do speak to me personally...
