Never thought I’d ever say this but Miley had become my all time favorite singer. No one can sound like her. She’s got a unique voice that stands out from others!
One of my favorite things about Miley is that she is so passionate about paying tribute to the artists who have inspired her, particularly the women. The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Dolores O'Riordan, Dolly Parton, Deborah Harry, Madonna, Stevie Nicks, Britney Spears, Led Zeppelin. Not that she needs it but it really humbles her. She has role models and shows her gratitude for them.
I wanted to say the exact same thing. That she gives new lives to some forgotten songs. I have never heard the song Jolene by Dolly Parton until I heard it by Miley and then listened to both of them singing it. Loved it! This is so precious what Miley is doing.

“Used to be young” is a very powerful song. I was struggling to put in words as to why I’m not as much fun anymore but I couldn’t pin point why. You did that for me and now I understand the “Me” then and the “Me” now. Thank you❤️

It really doesn't surprise me that she suffered a vocal injury so quickly in her career. Disney constantly had her singing in a register she could barely reach and you can see the strain on her face when she tried to reach those high notes. You can clearly see the difference between the two 2012 clips, in the first one she's in a lower register and is singing comfortably and it sounds amazing without too much effort. Compare that to the second clip, where she's really forcing herself to reach that high note until her voice gives out halfway through, and the amount of effort and strain she's putting into it is written all over her face. She looks much more natural singing The Climb in 2017, compared to 2011, by only attempting to reach what she could manage comfortably. And the first clip for 2014 is a good example of how she sometimes resorted to shouting the notes she couldn't reach, which I find she does a lot more these days due to the damage in her vocal chords giving her a much deeper voice.

Though I admire how she is absolutely sure of who she is at wvery stage and compeltely owns it unabashedly!

She got surgery in 2019 after having Reinke's edema and I think it got deeper after that! I love her voice both before and after, it’s so unique!
