This worked great for redoing the shower/bathtub of my kid's bathroom. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxfiuHoZJo3bgdVPFRxQ-iqPpfbEHl2cYt I didn't like the guide, so I took it off. I just used a fine tipped sharpie on the tile and followed that line. It does make a wet mess, and once I started looking like I wet myself I started wearing a towel and apron while cutting. The blade it came with worked great until we wore it out. It was better than the replacement one we bought. I tried looking for just their blade, but failed. Not really for larger tiles unless you stack stuff on either side to support the tiles. Anyway, would definitley buy again.

Got this tile cutter and it was the worse. Tried to cut 36 inch long tile and it broke them all. Thank God I had extra tile from a previous job I did to use as practice.. It would have cost me so much money if I didn’t test it out at home first. Your blade must have been a really good one because I had to go over my tile several times and it still wouldn’t give me a straight cut all the way down ... it made a sharp right turn cut right across the tile when I wanted a straight line. Tried to send it back and they just said keep it, I guess they didn’t want it either.

Makes me wonder if the cutting wheel is 80% of these things. I've had a $130 rubi that sucked, lot of flex in the handle. The one in this video is definitely more rigid, and being a new wheel it did well.
Seems like a good option for diy homeowners. Even if it does suck that China is trying to flood the market with cheap tools.

The thing about that kind of cutter is that you have to do the entire length, unlike a saw which you can cut into it then turn the tile and cut in another direction.

Love all your videos bro! Can you do some technical video? Maybe how you go about your lay out and placement ideas, different vapor barrier options and quality/longevity differences, like old school techniques with tar paper or like what if you had none at all or what if you used plastic sheeting behind the backer board? Maybe some flood test about them as well. What kind of mortar do you prefer and why? How’s the tile biz in in SoCal vs other markets? Blade reviews? What to look for in a blade. Cheap vs expensive blades would be a good one. 👍
How do you bid jobs and what do you charge vs going rates?
I understand if you don’t want to give all the tricks but I haven’t seen many in depth videos about areas of tile.
I make tile full time so I need about it all. Other videos ideas could be about the material science of tile. Like ceramic vs glass vs porcelain etc.

Bought one of these on Ebay 2 months ago. Came in a box like yours. 75% of the time does not break along the score line at the opposite end of hard 12"' x 24" porcelain tile. Even with multiple passes still vears off the score line left or right. Wheel sounds like its cutting smoothly but still no cigar. What gives?

We just bought a new tile cutter from lowes and it hasnt cut a tile yet without breaking it unevenly. Its getting frustrating and discouraging. We have tried all different techniques and nothing is working. The tile is 12x24 porcelain made in italy, so I dont know what the issue is. Do you have any tips?

You don't need an expensive cutter to cut tile...The only advantage with a sigma or montolit is that they have a nice ruler so you don't have to mark your tiles and that speeds up installation.
