As for losing children to suicide - I completely empathise. But worse things happen to ordinary people. A democratically elected government is the answer to Iran's troubles. But a constitutional monarchy is completely unnecessary. Monarchies are an anachronism. All they do is to allow thoroughly unremarkable people to do thoroughly unremarkable work and strut around calling themselves prince, princesses and other rubbish. The very fact that Reza Pahlavi, the son of Mohammad Reza goes around using honorifics like Shahzade, Prince and Imperial Highness is questionable and absurd. The bloke does not have a full-time job and lives off family wealth. These people are privileged and their lives cannot be compared to those of the simple folk who either stayed back in Iran or had to flee the Khomeini regime. As for losing children to suicide - I completely empathise. But worse things happen to ordinary people.
A democratically elected government is the answer to Iran's troubles. But a constitutional monarchy is completely unnecessary. Monarchies are an anachronism. All they do is to allow thoroughly unremarkable people to do thoroughly unremarkable work and strut around calling themselves prince, princesses and other rubbish. The very fact that Reza Pahlavi, the son of Mohammad Reza goes around using honorifics like Shahzade, Prince and Imperial Highness is questionable and absurd. The bloke does not have a full-time job and lives off family wealth. He spends all his time delivering lectures, giving interviews and hosting press conferences....these people are entitled parasites.
