Loved the food & restaurant ! Really enjoyed the vintage pictures from the past. Where was everyone? Looked like yall had the place to your self. Derrik told how old he is...no worries,, depending on the month you were born,,, I'm 13-14 years your senior. God bless & traveling mercies on your way home ! 😊
@diamondbackking4141 Most of the people that were there, were sitting in the air conditioned inside section. We like to dine outside, but it was a little warm. There were a couple of others out there with us. We didn't really go at peak lunchtime. Yes, I also love looking at those vintage pictures. It's amazing how much things have changed. Thank you for watching, and we are glad you enjoyed it.
About portion size: My wife and I bought a tripod that holds my cell phone. We went to a seafood restaurant that we had been to about a month before. We asked if it was okay to take a video and they said yes butt put us way back in a corner. We ordered the exact same food as the previous visit. They gave me 2 big pieces of swordfish. The previous visit was just 1 medium piece. They gave my wife 19 fried shrimp. The previous visit we hadn't counted butt it looked like this time it was about double. A month later we did the same thing at an Italian restaurant. We made 2 visits about 2 weeks apart with the same results. The amount of food was about double on the 2nd visit with the tripod/cellphone. They even gave us garlic knots on the house.
That is interesting. It actually crossed my mind, to wonder if that is why my portion size was good. However, Shawnasi's still was sort of small, and the menu did say that the fish I got, is served "butterflied", which this was. So, I kind of figured that is just the way it comes. The only person I told about TH-cam, was the lady who asked me about taking pictures. I have no idea what else transpired behind the scenes. We gave them a good review the prior year, and they didn't know we were doing it for a TH-cam video then, so I'm honestly not sure what the case is. But thank you for watching, and for sharing that.
@sherry7365 Thank you so much. Yes, we do try to bring a variety of things. Sometimes, people want us to just focus on doing nature things and not do restaurants, but we try to bring various things because we realize people have various interests. Thank you for appreciating that, and thank you for watching. Have a blessed day.
@user-il2py5ez8m I appreciate the compliment on the sunglasses. I was kind of hesitant to wear them in the video, because I didn't know if I would look ridiculous. But I'm glad that's not the case. Yes, this is a great place to eat. We highly recommend it.
Luckily Shawnasi got clam chowder with her meal her serving on the shrimp and scallops appeared to be skimpy. So happy you enjoyed your meals.😊 Thanks for the review 😊
Yes, the shrimp and scallop portion was a bit small. My portion was good. Not sure why the shrimp is something they don't give much of. Thank you for watching.
@@NCMemoryMakers you said that you hated to eat a yellow tailed snapper because they were so FRIENDLY, that they came right up to you when you were snorkeling. You said that you had sort of become FRIENDS but here you were about to chow down on one, thus my comment about having a FRIEND for lunch.
This place looks familiar. LOL As soon as we saw Derrick's fish we thought it looked like a big portion. All of the food looked delicious. Glad you enjoyed your meal there. Our only issue was the price for the amount of food that we got. Enjoyed how you included the pictures/postcards from the past. Glad you had a good meal here. Nice video!
@vafunseekers Thank you for watching. Yes, I'm sure it definitely looked familiar to y'all...LOL. Yeah, I wanted to mention y'all's review as well, because I believe you all did get shortchanged on portion size. Especially your shrimp. And I didn't want it to sound like I was coming off of saying just the opposite, but I really do think it must depend on what you get. That was probably the largest portion of fish I have been served all week, with the exception of the fish and chips at Phillippi Creek. But your shrimp should have come with at least 10-12. That's why I told Shawnasi she should have known better than to get shrimp, because we had just seen y'all's review.
Glad you enjoyed the video. The food was excellent. I've been coming to SK since 1972, and Shawnasi has been coming since we were married in the 1990's, and we've only ever stayed in one place. We did a review on it last year. There are many nice places, but this is the only one we've ever experienced. th-cam.com/video/U0G9pBg8_Qg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=TV40YBm_pNHpajE6
I’m guessing you ate Tilefish, not File fish last year. Yellowtail that you had was too covered in butter. I have caught hundreds in Bimini and are an excellent flaky fish that I prefer fried.
@islandluvr007 Perhaps, instead of guessing, you should actually try to educate yourself more on fish. I said filefish, and that's what I meant. Had you read the menu, you would have noticed that. Had you done a quick 10-second Google search, you would have seen there is a clear difference between the two. You might need to stick to catching Yellow Tail Snappers in Bimini, because you obviously don't know about the many other varieties of fish that are on the menu. Especially when it was shown on the menu in this very video. Now, you've been nothing but a smart aleck since you've been here. Insulting our looks, calling us names, and then having the nerve to complain because I talked about our faith on our channel. Did it ever occur to you just to not watch a channel you don't like? You're welcome to leave any time, or I can assist you with that if you don't know how.
Your content is great and I like it. But your videos are not SEO optimized and the channel is not optimized properly. You have not used any video tags and channel tags. If you do these things right, you will get more visitors and people will like your content more.

It's a cute place. If my dad was still here, he would have loved the clam chowder. Hope you have a safe trip home. ❤❤😊

Kinda gives "having a friend over for lunch" a whole new meaning. 😢😊

Clam chowder looks delic. Im an oyster stew lover
I didn't notice if they had oyster stew on the menu. I know they are famous for their chowder, which is really good here.
