Well , is the Power Steering Rack and is not reparable the mechanic said. I also have difficulties finding one because Fiat doesn’t make parts for it. If anyone reading this and selling one for 223 1.3 Multijet 2004-2006 I would really be grateful.
The FT7s are ok, I can't say much about fuel consumption compared to a road tyre because we only had these tyres on the van. we average about 6.5l/100km. On the road they are a little bit noisy and if there is too much pressure in the tyre then they are not good in the rain. If we had to replace them I would be tempted to try the Yokohama Geolander in the same size.
You diagnosed the noice problem very quick and very good, thanks to your previous problem, and the replacement looked straightforward too. When the engine was running the way it should run again, after the repair, looking at the belt it looked like the tensioner was moving quite a lot, so possibly one of the rollers isn't turning freely enough. The chili sin carne looked very good, and I would have loved to join you, as I'am a vegetarian too since about 50 years now. Enjoy the rest of this fantastic trip, and hopefully with no other mechanical problems. Cheers, Peter.

Its a bit of a lottery when you buy none genuine parts some are just as good as the original and some very just poor materials and manufacturing
