Engem teljesen megragad, hogy milyen szeretettel beszélsz a mi hazánkról, hazánk dolgairól. Áldjon meg az Isten, minden jót neked Willie! ❤️🥰

I am Hungarian, but I have never been to Tapolca. This is a beautiful city. It has a very good atmosphere.

Another picturesque town. Thank you for showing these towns that are not necessarily tourist traps. I love seeing the architecture. I have never heard of this town but I am planning a trip to Hungary next year and now I want to go visit it. I keep watching your videos to give me ideas of places to visit that are off the beaten path. I was especially excited when you visited Jaszbereny as my ancestors were from that area, more specifically Jaszladany. Thanks Willie, I am looking forward to your big project!

This town is one of my favourites in Hungary, I'm really glad you're showing smaller towns like this, the one thing I hate about Budapest is that it's full of tourists, and smaller towns like this are very underrated. I think they show Hungary way better than Budapest. I live in a small town nearby called Jánosháza, so I've visited it quite a few times. If you haven't already, you should also visit Tihany, which is a bit more touristy but it's beautiful, Sümeg, which has a beautiful castle, and Kőszeg, which is a bit further away, next to the Austrian border, it's a beutiful town, and next to it is írott-kő, and the view from there is amazing.

Thank you for this video! I was born in Tapolca but I haven’t been there since I was 1.5 years old. Never seen it since. Parents relocated to Esztergom. This video means a lot! Thanks Willie!

Batsányi János was a famous poet, who was born in Tapolca, Baumberg Gabriella was his wife, who was also a poet :) Glad you were in my home town and you liked it! You speak Hungarian very well, impressive! 😊

Hello! I like your site! Congratulations on it! It's nice of you to learn almost the most difficult language in the world. You're doing well! 👍 If you want to drink real good Hungarian wine, visit Villány!
Even the French can envy some of them. 😉

My man mentioned Romans, Longobards and Avars, while the town itself bears a (typical) Slavic name. 😉It means "warm spring/water/stream".
That´s a detail of course, I enjoyed the video!

Sziasztok!

Tapolca was a stronghold of the Rákosi-Gerő klikk, which thrived to transform Tapolca into a "steel-city" (unsure if thats a legit word, in Hungarian it exists:)) with factories and enormous buildings. Fortunately their apirations were met with little success, but you can still see the communist effect on Tapolca.

Nice. I was hoping that you would film the Y houses as well. Remarkable socialist architecture. But beware, it is a bit of a slum. When I was filming there, some guys honked at me and gave me the finger
