Honestly I like this. Nobody gave him a redemption speech or even think that he would betray All for One, including All for One himself, but he did it on his own accord. Even if it's just for personal reasons.
Except AFO wasn't a dick to Giganto lol. He told him why he was leaving Giganto the first time. He was going into hiding. The second time he literally couldn't have saved Giganto if he wanted to. His body was too injured. He then sent an army to free Giganto when it was most likely to succeed.
Because All For One only see them as pawn. Shigaraki still actually deserve saving more than him since despite being a villain, he still actually do care about his teammates.

Loyalty is symbiotic, some does something good for you in the long-run and you reciprocate in some way that equals the deed. That way, you wouldn’t have to worry about someone like Gigantimachia turning on you when he starts thinking for himself and second guessing his role.

I imagine the entire league except tomura shigaraki being saved and coming to hero side , shigaraki dies , deku and some other heroes stay in hospital after the war , our students become actual heroes instead of students , some main villains we have seen become heroes and try to fix their life and get support by our main cast , at the end we see deku and others grew up to their 20s , eri is now a teenager and can somewhat use her quirk , she manages to heal almight close to his prime and deku visits tomura's gravestone every once in a while , dabi with scars became a peaceful family member again aswell with being a hero, toga became hero , deku at his prime which is probably his mid 20s becomes the no.1 hero and the new symbol of peace ,rate it from 1 to 10?
