but I cant root cause bootloader is locked, and unlocking bootloader does another wipe on the phone. then once Im rooted and run your utility, It wont recover anything because it wiped the "deleted files" i was trying to recover in the first place. What do I do, I am completely at a loss. My phone updated automatically and wiped EVERYTHING, now I just simply want to recover contacts/SMS/pictures. I dont know what to do now :(

Check the cable, if that isnt the problem, try restarting the phone and computer and use another port or check if dust is in either the cord or usb hub/port. If that doesnt solve it, the phone must be dead. I know this is very late into the future, but I hope you see this and reply to see if it fixed your problem. Hope it does :D
