I think this is honestly the Best Round of 8 out of all 17 seasons. I've watched every single ASL all the way through and KSL and I don't ever recall there being such a loaded round of 8. These are all players who are LONG overdue for a title and then Mini and Soulkey who are already Championship level. So amazing. I really do't want to see Snow or Bisu lose, but somebody has got to lose.
Snow got shafted with the draw - he's not facing a terran in either of his first 2 matchups and ONLY if he gets to the final ...maybe His PvT is his bread and butter
Got to attend in person. Sadly had to leave early to catch the train. But it was an amazing experience. It was so cool to see SC fans from all over the world
Man having the two of them miss Sharp killing the Armory to deny +2 and then 2 minutes later are like "it's shocking he doesn't have +2!" Yeah... 'cause the first drop in the main killed it man.
Artosis scored 6/8 with his Ro8 predictions. Not bad! I don't get the predictions now though. I call Snow not only beating Bisu but winning the season.
Gotta give more credit to sharp on g1 sharp vs snow . He hid his gols to lure in snow shuttle. Sharp only showed tanks and vulture, huge play ! I wish artosis picked up on that instead of just saying hes bad right now.
Sharp's entire TvP game is sneaking vultures into the probe line. Whether Best wins or not will be determined by how well he walls up, leaves insurance dragoons at wall entrance, and detects drops.
Always cheering for Sharp, but I'm relieved for Snow to make it through a spell of ASL under-performance to progress. He's so genuine - hopefully he finds his feet and confidence in the studio for the Ro8

snow sending his corsairs back immediately after killing the overlord in the top left wasn't a coincidence right? I'm guessing he smelled that overlord drop because of that top left overlord revealing itself
Yeah pretty much. At pro level every single move is thought out or at least they have a decent idea when zoning and army movement. One you get passed like B-A rank every single move is thought out.

The weird thing is he like double thought about it and didn't pounce on it for like 10 seconds, giving Snow the time to send the Corsairs. I think what happened is he either sent it to drop 2 lurker or as a fake and then 2nd guesssed himself or decided to fill more units but by then it's too late. Snow knew drop was coming.

SPOILER ------- So glad that Snow and Sharp made it out of this incredibly tough group. This tournament is looking REALLY good for Sharp so far. Hoping that my boy can make it to a Finals again, win or lose. His play is looking pretty solid lately, and having only head to head matches from here will help his prep. Also would not be upset if my man SoulKey repeats this year!
Soulkey is going back to back, the man is unbeatable against toss and has all toss in his bracket. Probably will even play best in the final and just crush him too.

Soulkey only has to practice ZvP at least until finals. Makes it good odds for him. The potential for a Mini vs Bisu will be heartbreaking for me. Hoping for Rush to make it far!
For the next ASL, why not continue with the current 4 player format all throughout the tournament? For RO8, the first 4 players will be the 1st tier or first 4 players to advance and the second 4 players will be the 2nd tier or second 4 players to advance. That way they will still play with all the players and no need to draw lots.
i used to hate watching sc broodwar...now its all i want in my life. SC2 really is slowly dying. Went from watching sc2 to being obssessed with broodwar. No love lost. Hope dan and nick keep commentating this for as long as possible.

Greater spire is a button you can press to instantly lose the game. I have watched maybe 200 games with a greater spire I think zerg won 2 or 3 of them.
Wondering if mixing in M&M's and starting to upgrade their attack is a counter to this Carrier built. Ofc APM being a limited resource Sharp still had 1400minerals, if he built 4-6 barrackes, starts wep upgrade since he alrady have engineering bay and then just mass queues marines with all that available minerals he has, he is not needing the minerals for vultures, sure dragoons kill marines EZPZ but its about synergy right? Goliaths/Tanks+M&M's. There was one ASL I think it was light switched to M&M's to counter carriers and the interceptors melted away, tho that was late game not mid game.
The fact that Korean Terrans dont use Ghosts vs Carriers is kinda triggering. I mean, is it that costly to inlcude like 4-5 ghosts tech in Lockdown and start locking down Carriors and kill them with Goliaths? I've seen one European streamer that counterd Carriors with Chosts and he was rocking! Might not have been on the GSL level game, but it was working nice.. Can for real someone explain what stops them to at least try some ghosts? All i see Terrans do is just zug zug Goliaths and eventually loose the long game...
