    This Purolator oil filter is literally the BOSS ... What else you can ask?. Made in USA + full synthetic filter media with reinforced polymer mesh + 99% Dirt Removal Power (20 microns) for $13.86 in Amazon. I use them in my Honda Pilot and Honda Odyssey.

      The 99% at 20 microns is only for the filter number referenced on the box. There are data sheets from Mann and Hummel that are basically saying the boss is 99% at particles greater than 46 microns and 50% at 22 microns. I bought a couple a while back but since learning of this not again.

    I pay $10.99 on my Amazon business account for the Purolator Boss PBL20195 filter which is the Fram FE3600 or Amsoil EAO34. This is the oversized filter I used with the same bypass pressures, just more filter media. The Stock filter size calls for PBL10241 which is the Fram FE3614 series.

    The boss filter was out long before Mann and Hummel purchased all these companies. I noticed you compare everything to Wix but m&h has allowed the Boss filter to be sold under many names now. The original and benchmark you should be comparing everything to is the Boss. Of course they give the Boss everything and you'll notice a weight difference or small differences between it and the other's remember Boss is the top dog

      ANYTIME you have ONE parent corp that has two brands under it's umbrella that produce the same product, eventually they standardize for cost. This saves money for production streamlining and cataloging and production material sourcing as well as expediency. We can talk about German corporate governance in another topic, but I've seen this story before. Eventually it will be just a label change or a difference without a distinction, and then only one brand is left, which is the one with the most loyalty or sales.

      @@crazybillsgarage Unfortunately we've all seen this movie before. You don't have to look any farther than the Husqvarna and Jonsered case model. Once they both came under the same corporate ownership, eventually, the only difference was the color of the molded plastic covers. Then Jonsered went 'away' and became 'Redmax' and disappeared from the NA market completely.. I picked up a LOT of good Jonsered equipment at BLOWOUT prices and now it's no more. Same as Husky though. In the end it comes down to 'Why produce two identical products on two lines with different labels?' Late stage Capitalism is the same as Communism. They get to the same place. LESS CHOICE for the consumer. 30, 40, 50 years ago you had WAAY more options. Now, just a few.

    Purolator Boss walks all over WIX XP and affordable and available in the states same day or Amazon made by Mann-Hummel. Amsoil EAO, Fram Endurance and Royal Purple Extended-Life are all the same also made by Champion Labs. If you are going to buy any Mann product, only by the Purolator Boss. Otherwise, buy one of the other three as they are identically made from Champion Labs. I have hundreds of hours of testing and research with oil analysis and six vehicles that I take care of and test. Make sure not to use junk oil either. Amsoil Signature Series, Pennzoil Ultra Platinum and Valvoline Extend-Performance High Mileage has the highest TBN's, wear and Additive packages. Engines are too expensive to save $4 bucks on a filter or 5 quarts of oil.

      Research MPT Industries 30,000 mile oil. 100% synthetic Ester, no petroleum. Starting TBN of 12.5 I believe. I sent it off to Blackstone after comparing with Amsoil Signature Series both had 3000 miles on the oil, same car. MPT performed better and has a better additive package.

    • @Balticblue93
      @Balticblue93 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@BW-kv9wj It is crazy that I have this many years of research and testing and never heard of this oil. It is about the same price as Amsoil and the TBN is the same as the Amsoil Signature series, but don't worry, I will be testing it in the two of the six vehicles I maintain. It looks on paper that the oil is very high end. I find it fantastic there is another contender out there and I really do appreciate you sending me the info on the MPT Industries. I will admit that I will never go 30k miles, let alone 15k but I will try it out and keep increasing the mileage as long as the oil analysis continues to come back clean.
      I am not the guy that changes oil without the filter. That is insane for how expensive engines are and the best filters are $13-17 dollars. Purolator Boss, Fram Endurance, Amsoil EAO and Royal Purple are nearly identical filters. Purolator Boss is currently holding the top spot by a small margin and made by Mann-Hummel. The other three are identical in every way with different labels. They are better at filtering, but do not as good as flow as the Purolator Boss.
      But I am excited to test this oil out at 5k, 7500, 10k and depending on the OA results, I will try longer for a single time of 15k. But I do change the filters, on certain vehicles between oil changes.
      Thank you again for the information and I am researching and reading all the scientific data I can about this oil. It looks amazing on paper and the same price as Amsoil, from what I can see initially.

    I really want to like and use these filters. The bypass valve pressure is correct for the Subaru and Purolator used to make the OEM filters for Subaru in the 90s. But those inlet holes look small and restrictive!
    The Fram Ultra Synthetic Endurance has a lower pressure setting but claims a high-flow media and has more/larger inlet holes. Less pressure differential across the media.
