Of course a marine would take and spray paint a perfectly good gun , this army guy just likes his woodstocks

Paint on a walnut stock? Personally I think the gun would look much better with a nice hand rubbed finish, and a good re-bluing of the metal. It is your gun though, and you have to be happy with the end result. On behalf of myself, I think painting an old gun like that is just a sin.

These guns are little works of art. The firing pin the trigger groups and the bolt are all color case hardened. Then you painted it. Oh brother.

Nice project..i get the bitterness..i also get ..its your gun to do as you please..
Like the car guys..take a 19??..strip it down to the frame..paint it a non factory color..then reassemble with a different colors again..a roll cage inside it..giant tires out back..no hood..giant chrome and polished fire breathing engine..some would turn up their nose..while others would be drawn to it..i see both sides..👍👍👍

I was thinking wasted time at first BUT .... very impressed with the whole project . Bravo Zulu bud. I learned a thing or two. Really dug all the music.....
With the exception of the surprise stylus needle rip. But alas....humor at a bargain! I've subscribed. I've got a few antique .22 cracker projects lined up.
Plus a Ithica s/s Flues 12 gauge. From at least the 20s. That is nearly a basket case. No wood left. Semper Fi.

Very nice job in at 510 restoration, it turned out very well. But I have a question for you, I have a Remington 511 score master. The problem I have with it is when I shoot it and chamber another round sometimes the bolt comes all the way out sometimes have you done any videos that shows, had to fix this problem that I have.

haha , I thought you said "painting" in the part3. what made you do that after all that work sanding/refinishing? just didnt come out well enough? next time try oxphoblue instead of the browning for the barrel. Ive seen people do browning, then blue on top of that to make it blacker then blueing alone. but I love the way blue looks. fun watching anyways.

I've actually done a couple of rifles with Oxpho-blue. In fact I'm working on a Marlin right now, using O-B.
I have 2 other versions of the 510 and this one was pretty messed up so I planned on painting it from the get-go.
      Thanks for watching and commenting!

I enjoyed everything except the music. I use eaebuds so I don't wake the wife and the music is a bit much. But overall a great 👍 job.
