    UPDATE: Here's a recent video of the Quantum Trainer compared to a Powertec Lever Gym. th-cam.com/video/d4X6S-qolrg/w-d-xo.html

      Many thanks to this channel for testing so many products that get less visibility by other gym equipment reviewers. When I first saw Hybrid Resistance's review for the Quantum Trainer I was sold of the piece as it looked amazing. So I found the Quantum Trainer website to place an order but has some concerns about the legitimacy of the website due to its "no-frills" design. So, with that, I had some hesitation to buy one. Hybrid Resistance saw my comments on the video and within 24 hours, the owner Glenn reached out to me and provided the single best customer service experience I ever had with purchasing a piece of gym equipment...and I've been doing this for 30 years. While Glen's customer service was above and beyond anything I had previously, I can also say this piece of equipment is amazing!! It allows for so much "controlled" range of motion that, 1 month later" I am still discovering ways to do every day exercises that work for MY body type. After benching with 25 years of shoulder pain, I am now cranking out reps with nothing short of delight. The one take away I would give to someone looking at this piece is that the way the arms move and the simplicity of the machine's operation, you can tailor the angles and positions of the arms for the exercise you are doing to work with YOUR body type. To me, this is the genius of this piece...I do bench press with no shoulder pain, I squat with no back or knee pain, and I do rows that hit every angle of my back with a mere change in body position. As for cost, this is in the realm of Rogue quality but designed to be very simply to put together and move. Not Rogue :) That attachments and bench that are included would normally run well over the $1,000 area on other major retailers, so keep that in mind when you are deciding. And trust me, the bench is pretty darn good. It replaced my Powertec bench. Anyway...many, many thanks for Hybrid Resistance for reviewing this piece and Glenn at Quantum Trainer for the amazing customer service and piece of gym equipment.

    Landmine fitting, Oly bar, viking press and T-bar handle, strong sawhorse plus a bit of imagination…
    Almost the same utility, for a lot less money, and packs away much better.

  • @williamsullivan1126
    @williamsullivan1126 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Looks like a good machine . It seems to me though that the real impediment to taking this out to the park is the need to also carry out all the plates to the park. If they could have an electronic resistance feature it could broaden the appeal of this piece. Good review!

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks so much William. I don't really think most people will actually bring it to the park, I just shot it outside for the sake of the video to showcase the outdoor feature. I think the outdoor nature the machine is for people who might set it up either permanently or from time to time in their backyard. I actually get this question all the time from people asking if certain equipment can be left outside. I know during summer, I'll for sure just have this set up in my backyard for some occasional outdoor workouts.

  • @user-qh5nm7di2r

    How much to built a wooden copy? This design is prime for it since it's so incredibly SIMPLE.

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't know about the price for a wood design, but you could make that argument with pretty much any squat rack as well. So I'd say the same argument why someone wouldn't just build a squat rack vs pay for an expensive rack would apply here as well.

    • @user-qh5nm7di2r
      @user-qh5nm7di2r 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@hybridresistance A couple jammer arms with two-plane hinges that have come out I saw recently on a rack would be cheaper to about the same price, but with much more built in variety. The point of a simple design should also reflect in the price. Two thirds of the price of this Quantum Trainer seems to be in the 80% of metal framing that is the foundation. Just extrapolate that framing into a $100-200 half-rack and you've got a more affordable home system that more people would buy. This is a massive oversight that will lead to poor sales.
      1) ISO Arms DIY Jammer Lever Arms | Home Gym Power Rack Attachment
      2) The Ultimate Jammer Arms Build! Vendetta, GymPin, Rogue Fitness & More
      3) Jammer arm adapter = better range of motion = now available!
      These three are right off the rip. It's 2024 and you can't hide from the highly available competition without clearly perceived benefits in features; no half measures or "might sorta be ok...but limited". I guess the mobility aspect is nice, but who's going to want to lug all the weights along with it for an "impromptu outdoor private class" or something? Hell, that gives me an idea for mobile anchoring system for the home made version. But that's a secret for now~ 😉

    Looks amazing but the price is tough to swallow. I guess if I was very limited on space I'd consider it, but it's competing on price with the digital gyms like Oxefit (think Oxe is a bit more but when you add the lat pulldown piece it will be closer).
    If you don't need the portability it might be a tough sell for the space saving crowd at this price point. Hell, the powertec is better on price and despite not being commercial grade, is rated for the same capacity. It does require more space though.

    • @powerplanthomegym
      @powerplanthomegym 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This is way different to a rack with jammer arms attached, there’s literally tonnes of movements you couldn’t do with that set up that this machine provides. The QT is in a league of its own from a functionality and versatility standpoint. Anyone just viewing this by TH-cam isn’t experiencing what it actually is, what it can do and is really hard to compare it without actually feeling it for yourself. I have this combined with a rack, smith, cables etc and it just takes training to a whole different level. Anyone who loves machine training will adore this.

    I remember you using a grip mat for the sliding board on your total gym. I can't find that video anymore. Can you direct me to where you purchased that gripping mat, please? I found 75 lbs resistance bands for my Gr8flex. The issue is that with 6 bands "450 lbs" I slide off the board. With lower weight, I can just hold the bottom of the board, but with more weight it's kinds of tougher. My arms and shoulders seem to get a better work out from holding the bottom of the board when using more weight.

      I told the owner the price is the biggest obstacle, but once I got to know more of the parts / cost of the unit (not to mention shipping costs), I think it's fair for the build quality. Is $3k really too expensive for a piece of equipment with this level of versatility and build quality? I'm frugal af, but $3k to squat, bench, deadlift, landmine press, belt squat, and practically any other movement you can imagine is a pretty solid deal to me. Definitely. I think I through a quick shot of that in the video. I know the owner made the limitless trainer first which I believe may have influenced these types of machines.

    It looks fantastic but my only concern would be the lack of exercises for the triceps.

      You can get creative, even without the pull-down attachment. I do dips, tricep extension like using a DB, kickback and skullcrushers. Anything you can think of with a DB you can do. Then with the lat attachment it’ll have every movement patten covered. Hope this helps 😎

      Yes, there is another attachment coming out soon. You can see a prototype of it here in this video th-cam.com/video/d4X6S-qolrg/w-d-xo.html

    having weights stacked vertically is going to be a pain to load and unload.

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is true and I don't want to make excuses for the machine, but it's just one of those inherent pros/cons of the equipment. Having them vertically loaded allows a little bit more freedom of movement and just feels natural given what the machine does. Something I didn't cover that you'll want a weight plate that has space for handles as my "Strength Co" weights can be so tight together that they're a pain to take off unless I put a spacer weight in-between. I had the same issues with my vertical leg press.

      I have it and the only time it's a little bit annoying it's while squatting. That all . Most of the time it's very smooth

    Maybe a duo pad / single pad attachment for those squats / hip thrust.
    How much weight can this hold ?

    • @powerplanthomegym

      100kg each arm, but it seems to get heavy quick compared to a normal lever gym

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That is a good point. I got this other thing I didn’t rig yet but I think I could do hip thrusts on it. The other commenter addressed the load and I can agree it feels heavier compared to my lever gym.

    • @sonicrocks2007
      @sonicrocks2007 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @hybridresistance the gym I go to has things like Chest Press maxout at 300-350 lbs, considering this 220 lbs per arm, then that is better. But compared to squat rack, it probably won't do as much. So it does have its strengths, which is these independent swinging arms.
      The pad if designed could just go over the bar attachment you had. So it wouldn't need another attachment. Heck a pool noodle cut may help. But if you want duo pads for squat, that would be another attachment, maybe. You could Calf raises too!

    The universe couldn’t have chose a better person to speak on this machine. Very cool.
    Edit: didn’t realize the spotter arms were adjustable I was so confused. Makes total sense for the center post.
    Edit2: that lat pull down attachment looks gnarly to load for strong guys having to put 45 lb plates that high. I could probably use a plyobox to get that high to load it but probably won’t get the chance to try one of these in a million years. 💸
    Can you do the vertical leg press motion while lying on the ground with the squat bar attachment?

    • @powerplanthomegym
      @powerplanthomegym 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have this machine and yes it is possible to do leg press from the floor, also I think the lat attachment is having a redesign with angled weight horns either side to address this.

      Thanks for that comment! Showing me I should have clarified that more with the posts. With the lat pull down, I said the same thing to the owner that it looked big and hard to load without standing on something. He told me basically it’s all good and both won’t be a problem. I’m supposed to get tomorrow so I’ll keep you posted. Thanks again!

      @@hybridresistance it’s a lot of detail to go over in 1 video, but I think you covered it well bud ☺️ I think the lat attachment will really make this machine in a league on its own. I see a few people complaining about price, but considering the quality and how many machines it replicates I think it’s bit of a bargain personally.

    Love your review bro...but can we stick more on budget equipment? Especially here in Asia where US dollars so expensive...thank you for your kind consideration
