"nickel and diming"? Much more reasonably priced than x3 for what you get. Looks like you'll be able to combine cables/bands w/ conventional barbell stuff also. Been using Bodylastic stuff for years. Fairly priced, top quality, clever designs. They were the first w/ those convient snap on clips on their cables and to have a clear resistant load marked on the cables. Checkout their door harness.
@@NoHoChopperThe guy reviewed the x3 bar also. didn't have a comment about how over priced it is, but he's commenting on the price of something that's priced fairly.
I've been using these bands for a long time. 10 years I love them. Lat pulldowns are very easy to get plenty of tension You have to basically buy one of those elastic band bars I found one on Amazon that you can make it longer or shorter so I make the bar very long attach the bands and you get tension better than the gym!! I bought three of those bars I found a way to even attach the bar to the bottom of a weight bench with the forever hooks so I replicate a bench press. Not to mention you can just use like a chain from Home Depot so when you go to incline You just add a little bit more of the links or no links if it's a flat bench. You might be asking how do you pick up the weight Well it's pretty easy. You have to make sure that you set it up with the bar so there is tight tension on the bench with the bar. And then you adjust the links so you have some effort putting the bar over your head onto your chest. You have to experiment with it it works fantastic.. The bar also works fantastic for doing shoulder presses and everything else including curls.. it's not the crooked curl bar it's just a straight bar for elastics. I've been trying to replicate what this flexicon's already does and I'm pretty good at it. Oh yeah not to mention I do squats with the bar also I put a pad on the bar and again adjust the linkage. So I can just get under the bar when I'm sitting down with little bit of tension. The only problem with that is that I obviously can only squat as much as my weight is so I find myself doing squats up to about 220 lb I just use plenty of reps. You can also do this with the bar and the pad with lunges with your back leg on a chair. So I would put like 30 to 40 lb band.. again going into a lunge just getting my back under the bar with one leg under the bands holding on to a table or something in front of you for a balance put my leg on back of the bench. And I do lunges. This works great if you really want to add a ton of weight because you're only doing one leg so essentially you can probably do 180 lb for one leg and it will not lift you off the ground so times that by 2 that would be like doing a 360 lb squat. Which is plenty.. So there are ways to rig it to do anything you want if you just had a bench those forever anchors from them You just have to be creative. I mean hell you could even anchor it to your floor in the basement and then use the forever anchors and adjust the links to do squats.. there's more than one way to skin a cat. MY CONCERN WITH THE FLEXICON!! Well I like to stretch the bands out as far as they can go because science has showed that you build more muscle on the stretch under load For instance when you're doing bicep you build more muscle in the stretch position not the flexed position. I don't know how much the flexicon is going to let you stretch your muscles under load how adjustable it is for that. I know that right now I can get an amazing stretch because it can move my body to stretch those bands as far as they can go the rope will stop you inside.. And then I could do half reps under amazing stretch tension.. I don't know what the flexor car will allow you to do that with your shoulders, your chest, cable flies. But it's going to be interestingI JUST DON'T KNOW WHY IT TOOK THEM THAT LONG TO MAKE THIS THING I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS FOR A LONG TIME!!
Been eyeing bodylastics for over 7 years but went to d moose fabric bands. This looks great, they design great stuff at bodylastic. Totally agree on the nickel & diming thing plus all in all when it comes down do it - the moves can be replicated for less or frugally.
But racks don't have a floor platform. Platforms should become standard on machines. Eddie Hall almost had an accident because the rack he used almost tipped over when he was using bands.
The problem with this seems to be the same as the general problem with bands - any targeted muscle is getting the least amount of resistance when in the stretched position. Bands are fine for supplementary work, but for me the resistance inconsistency makes it the last option. That's just my take - mileage obviously varies, especially when considering beginner/intermediate/advanced lifters. Might be great for beginners. Advanced? Probably not.
I've been watching all the Flexicon videos and I'm super excited for this. I only use resistance bands so this is like a dream machine for me. However I do agree about the pull up bar and the bench. I already own the curl bar which to be honest, you're probably better off getting the Clench Fitness one instead with the collars. I do like the rack for hanging the bands on.
People seem excited...but not me, I view bands as an accessory and do not view them as superior to traditional weight plates. Also, lever gyms have band pegs now too which replicates some of what this does. Not my thing.
The problem with this is the limited range of tension throughout the full range of motion. The most important part of the movement in fully extended or stretched positions are critical and lacking with resistance bands .
bodylastics were my first real resistance bands I purchased in 2011 (just checked my Amazon history) - they were really good but at a later stage I switched to loop style bands as they were more versatile. Bands are still a staple in my workout routine as I travel a lot for work and like to exercise on the road. The flexicon looks interesting and while I like the concept I'd rather go with an option that allows be to use bands and weights just for variety in strengths curve. Also from what I hear the price of the Flexicon allegedly is around 900-1000 which is too expensive for a leverage and anchor system for bands. my dyi footplate and X3 bar clone cost less than 30 bucks and work just fine
Yes I use the bands but being able to actually load up to actually do heavy compound movements with bands would be great lol and not have to use door anchors , but I'll wait and see how it actually does

The way I see it the soloflex had better attachments especially when it came to leg workouts because this doesn't seem like you can work your glutes or hammies much or your quads like there's no leg curl or leg extension as you would with the solo Flex plus another underrated thing about the solo Flex is that you can actually use weight plates plus resistance the best of two worlds at the same time.
