Today we are going to learn how to play "The Good, the Bad and The Ugly" on the Ukulele. This is one of the most iconic film scores of all time way up there with movies like Jaws and Halloween. Sadly, Ennio Morricone, the composer of this song passed away on the 6th of July, the day before we decided to do this song. I did this one without any barre chords because I got such a positive response from the pink panther tutorial I wanted to do something similar that I felt Ukulele players of all levels could enjoy. Even if you are a beginner you'll be able to learn how to play the song if you stay focused on committed to the tutorial. He was not only the composer of this song, but really an entire genre of music has he essentially turned "Spaghetti Western" into a musical genre all on its own. As always we will walk you through the song note for note, bar for bar to makes sure that you master the song. At the end of the tutorial we will play through the whole song together with a play-along. The following lesson is Clint Eastwood approved.
The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain also deserves a shout out for their amazing rendition of song. It really goes to show you how much more powerful of a piece you can get on the Ukulele when you arrange a larger song for other instruments to create more polyphony and depth. This version is of course just for one person but you will see the harmony above the chords if you wanted to try and strum along and give the song a little more depth as well.

Holy crap, I need to improve so I can play this! I made a clay ocarina in high school pottery class and played that ghostly whistle tune all over school. I wish I still had that thing. We could play an amazing duet. Edit - my favorite Ennio Morricone song has to be Guerra e pace, Pollo e brace. I found it as the theme song to Shuteye on Hulu.

This movie is tied with Star wars IV for my favourite movie of all time.
I watch it twice a year: once in the summer and once in the winter.
Favourite scene is of course the cemetery scene at Sad Hill... but there are so many others. :)

Star Wars IV... the first three were so amazing. When the people who have stolen droids are running around one of them yells "utuni" or something to that effect. I showed my two nieces that part, 5 and 8, and now they always run around yelling "utuni!" With Star Wars I don't think of any one singular song but rather quite a few, the imperial march, the new hope theme. Ep V is arguably a better film, but IV was such an important movie for me when I was 11. There was nothing else like it. And despite the sequels it could stand on its own.

He was a brilliant composer with some of the greatest Spaghetti Western themes: For a Few Dollars More, The Ecstasy of Gold, A Fistful of Dollars, and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly are my favorites hands down. I have the chords for The Ecstasy of Gold, and the tabs (because of you!) for The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, but I don’t have the chords or tabs for the rest of them. So whatever you can teach I know your followers would deeply appreciate it.

The piano guy? Did he make a video for it? Ennio sadly passed away Monday, I think you'll probably see a lot of tributes on channels you like in the coming days. He lived a full life until he was 91 though, for sure a life worth celebrating.
What changes are necessary for”Low G” in this song???
Great question, it is actually an entire different string, it is thicker so it can play the lower note because it is an entire octave below. If you go Amazon and search “low G” you’ll see a lot of options. Once you get one you’ll see that they are tuned the same G C E A but you’ll hear the difference with the G, because it is an octave lower. If you never heard he term octave play the open C string followed by the 3rd fret of the A string. These are both C notes, the one on the second string is an octave higher. The low G is the same thing, just the other way, an octave lower than the way your ukulele is currently tuned.

Rock with it, low g works great just be aware of anytime I play melody on the low G, but I don’t think I do that at all in this video, so I’d just say play it the same. The only time you need to make any changes is when that melody is on the g string.

@@TenThumbsProductions Well, my landscaping business is on the brink of collapse. Even with the PPP loan I won't have the liquidity to stay open when the off season rolls in. I'll be fine but my heart breaks for my employees. On the plus side, my freezer is full of vacuum sealed organic veggies and I've gotten really good at canning, so everyone is getting fed.
