    I bought my Toyota Corolla Cross in November of 2021, I've had it 7 months or so now, and I love it. I have the XLE version and I "do" have air conditioning vents in the back, and a fold down arm rest as well (with 2 cup holders in it).The best thing I like about this vehicle is the "rear cross traffic alert (radar)". The radar has saved my butt several times when I was backing out of a parking space and didn't know that someone was whizzing by at a fast rate of speed -- until that loud, fast beep alerted me to the danger. A VERY nice feature to have. Also, I have 2 different cruise controls on the car, the old fashioned regular type (that keeps a constant speed), "and" the radar type that slows the car down when I'm getting too close to a car up ahead of me. If the car ahead changes lanes -- then my cruise control takes me right back to the speed I had set. I also love the way my blind spot monitors flash at me (from my side mirrors) when another vehicle is in my blind spot. All in all, I think I made a wise purchase.

      @@samantha19871980 No, no mechanical issues at all. One thing I LOVE about it is that, even tho like MOST new cars these days, it's designed for the engine to stop at stop lights (to save fuel) (which I hate -- I hate the sound and the idea of my car shutting off just because I come to a stop (fuel savings or no fuel savings, I hate it) -- my my car has a little button on the console where I can turn that feature off, so my engine runs all the time unless I purposely turn the car off. With some cars, you don't get that option. And once you get used to pushing that button, it becomes an automatic habit, so you just do it without having to remember it.

    • @stevechance150
      @stevechance150 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davesandler448 You have to push the "don't keep shutting off" button every time you drive the car?! (Also, I could see shutting off the engine at every stop light saves gas, BUT it's way more wear and tear on the starter.)

    It looks like a great little commuter for those of us living in snowy climates. Wish they had a hybrid version to pickup a few MPGs. Evidence of a lot of cost savers in manufacturing - no rear seat arm rest, manual passenger seat adjustments, no HVAC vents for the rear sets, etc. Not deal breakers, but would have been nice to haves. Will definitely consider it when I replace my 2016 Civic Touring Edition.

    Honda has been extremely disappointing as of lately they’ve obviously decided to live off their reputation of reliability rather than focusing on the small but very useful details:
    * No rear ac vents
    * No rear connectivity
    * No rear armrest/cup holders
    * No hydraulic rods
    * No power lift gate
    And don’t tell me about price point because $28,000 isn’t chump change and it wouldn’t cost a fortune to add these features anyways.

    Thanks for such a thorough take on the HR-V and just how it stands up to the competition. I currently have a 10th Gen Civic and I have decided to buy the HR-V, in black. My only complaint about Honda across the board is the cheap looking wheels they put on their base trims of most of their vehicles. It’s as though they want to punish their more frugal shoppers. LOL! The only thing about this particular car is that you cannot attach a car seat in the middle, there is no tether available. And I just bought my daughter one of the very narrow seats to save space for more passengers.. Otherwise, their cars particularity this year, are even more gorgeous in person! Videos and pics do it no justice.

    I tested this suv today and the Corolla cross. The Corolla looks 10 years back inside, but… when you take a bump, hole on road it feels like you in a safari good and stable. On the other hand, when you do the same with the Honda hrv, it’s more of an ouch moment. Also, the hrv buttons feel cheap on the inside compared to the outdated yet stable buttons of the Corolla. Seariously, I couldn’t stop looking at how good the hrv looks now, but for me today, Toyota is just a whole lot more stable machine that feels like it won’t fail you.

    Welcome to Oregon! I’m starting to consider the HR-V. It seems like there’s some good value for the price and some good option packages available to make it personalized. That said, it seems a bit under-powered. Id have to test drive before forming an opinion.

    The HRV is my choice. Honda gives you more for your money. Toyota, you pay for what you want. It's still a good car regardless. The HRV motor is perfect for my needs. The cvt transmission is fine. They'll get better then old transmission before you know it. Awesome review.

    Decent looking inside & out! LOVE the fan knob (and volume stayed this time)! It seems all "compact crossover" manufacturers are cutting HP & driveabilty grasping for a blah 32 MPG. In this case, Honda 2.0 NA over the 1.5T is obviously a cost cutting move but reliable. Its hard for me to consider giving up my paid-off 38-40MPG HWY car for an entry grade 32 MPG CUV. $26K-$30K approaching the $500/mo range ? Like Ice Cream at the supermarket seemingly priced attractive -- wait does this look smaller to you? (product shrink, take it or leave it). They are all cutting rear vent ducts too! Our 2015 RAV4 you need a stadium blanket to sit in the back!

      I was going to buy either the HRV or a CX-5 but may wait for a hybrid version. The lack of lumbar support in most of the models is very disappointing as is the lack of substance in the rear seat, however I like the cargo space. Make it hybrid, add good lumbar support and replace the CVT and I'm sold.
