It was marketed as a slasher time travel flick, a la "Totally Killer" , but there was surprisingly little gore or slashing. The plot worked best when it focused on Lucy and Summer as sisters, and might have been better as a simple time travel story.
I was expecting Lucy and her parents have a discussion on how much when change when summer died and how Lucy never had the family she deserve but we didn’t get it
Like Madame Web, this movie thinks 2003 was a year of extremely lax security where you could just walk into an airport, a nuclear facility or wherever without anyone challenging you.
You'd think that Quinn would target the people who threw him into the river, instead of Summer for rejecting his romantic intentions, or for laughing at the incident. Also, Lucy and Summer seem oddly comfortable around Quinn, even after knowing that an alternative version of him is a serial killer.
Well I think it's okay because they know why he turned into the killer. Original Quinn was bullied and rejected so he spent years alone getting angrier. But this Quinn was saved from the bullies, and has two really good friends now so this experience has affected him in the opposite way. I think it's safe to trust him when he says he'll never turn into that monster.
When Lucy went back to 2024 why didn’t her parents know who she was? Shouldn’t they have known if all she did was go to 2024 where she originally was anyway before time traveling
When Lucy pulled the killer into the time machine with her, she saved Summer which changes the future. Since Summer survives, Lucy's parents never have her. So when she "returns" to 2024 it's actually a completely different 2024 than she left
*spoilers* ... i think the time-travelling aspects of the movie were very interesting. basically, the way i understand it, and correct me if i'm wrong, the timeline changes multiple times. the beginning of the movie is an alternate timeline where the slasher (older Quinn) has already gone back in time. Him going back in time and killing Summer and her friends had a ripple effect and created a new timeline where the murders happened and Lucy was born. Lucy then goes back in time stops older Quinn from killing Emma and Summer, which creates another new timeline where she was never born (that's why her parents didn't know who she was when she went back to 2024). There's at least 3 timelines created by all this time-travelling.
Yeah, I just watched the movie so please help me out. So do those multiple timelines Explain why the older Quinn was still murderous, even though Lucy stopped his younger version from being thrown in the river? Also, if her sister lived and her parents never had Lucy, how is she still alive in 2003? Why didn’t Lucy just vanish from existence Back to the Future style? Time travel rules in this movie were a bit complicated .
@@dcfmkyn it doesn't work like Back to the Future. Each time someone travels into the past and changes something it essentially creates a new timeline. The old timeline still exists in an alternative reality so that is why Lucy or older Quinn don't just vanish. Timeline A is the original timeline where there are no murders, Quinn gets bullied and turns evil and invents a time machine. By travelling back to 2003 and murdering Summer and her friends he creates Timeline B where Lucy is born. Then when Lucy goes back and stops the murders of Summer and Emma she creates Timeline C where Quinn doesn't get bullied and turn evil and where Lucy is never born. But she is trapped now in Timeline C. Hope this helps explain it.
@@dcfmkyn exactly. So if young Quinn had killed himself nothing would have happened to Evil Quinn from Timeline A. Only Quinn from the Timeline C would have died.
you NEED to watch the series FROM on mgm plus and have to make theories on that. you will definitely like that show its a horror thriller with some time travel taste
The movie ending didn't make any sense. With stopping future Quinn as the killer, Lucy should have erased herself from existence entirely. Also, how could she simply stay in 2003? Apart from the fact that she's completely undocumented in this era (how could she even apply for the NASA internship?) the time-space-continuum should have crashed. The ending I would have wished for, which would have also been happy and ensured her existence was Lucy going back to 2024 with her sister being alive and an adult in this timeline. And because Summer remembered Lucy's visit from the future, she then begged her parents to have another child. And maybe they would have been let in on the whole time travel thing too because they met Lucy in 2003 as Summer's friend. I know that time travel movie logic is always a little flawed, but they could have at least TRIED to not choose the most random ending.
I liked this film too, but I agree the production quality is very low making the slasher and sci-fi elements really cheap looking. I however found that hilarious. My biggest problem is the reveal, it was generic but also felt unrealistic with showing Quinn a lot in the same shots as the killer

True, the fact that two teenagers can just walk in (badge or not) after the killer has already broken in and killed a guard is kinda unrealistic lol

@@cinekizzleAh, that makes sense, thanks for clarifying that plot point.
I only know Griffin Gluck from Locke and Key on Netflix
Oh I've never seen that, but I was really impressed with him in this movie so maybe I'll check it out!
@@cinekizzle It's such a good show!
