    Graeme, your video is well done. I am inland and can only find whiting frozen, but my 92 year old mother loves it. We found one of those packet seasonings that works well. What I wanted to share is what my mother likes with it. I make rice for three and just before cooking the rice I add to it about 5 slices of leek about 1/4 inch thick, a pinch or two of rosemary and a pinch or two of thyme. My herbs are fresh, but I suppose dried would work just as well. When the rice is done I fluff it and salt it to taste and some fresh ground pepper. I halve the fillets and put two on the rice as a nice looking serving. That's my mom's favorite meal and today's her birthday and she has asked for it tonight.

    He Graham, I found the TA channel watching your son camping, then I was introduced to his Dad, I now watch both of you, I really love watching you with your son, I see where he gets his wit and charm from 😊 You are both naturals in front of the camera and the videos you both make leave me feeling brighter and happier, so thank you. I love your fishing and cooking videos they are brilliant

    Great video! The £80 comment made me laugh. I've run the maths on fish I've caught too haha. Cooked Whiting this week- completely agree how underrated it is!

    Great presentation. I just got some whiting yesterday at the market and I'll be pan frying them using your method. Next, I'll try catching some fish of my own. My neighbor brought me some wonderful fresh-caught catfish and it's opened a whole new world of food for me. Keep up the terrific work!!

    Great video! I caught plenty of Whiting last night at Berry Head and they are hands down one of my favourite white meat fish. They are definitely under rated.

    Its funny you should mention that old half an onion trick Graeme, My friends Grandma does the same thing when she has her house decorated! The onion takes in all the odours from the Gloss and stops it from smelling so bad and get rids of all those nasty fumes. It really works and you see how much fumes the gloss paint lets off because the onion goes white!! :)

    Hi Graeme. I have just subscribed and love the way you cook. When I bake fish, I pour the juices from the foil onto the fish to retain all the goodness and flavour. But, as you say, we are all different. Thanks very much for this video. I will now start watching your others.

    Thank you for sharing. I see you love fishing and handling fish. You should come to my country and catch some tuna or other fish we have in the South Western Pacific :) Thank you for sharing.

    Great to see videos making use of the common species caught in these parts . Freshwater fish seem to be doing OK despite problems. Are sea species thriving again ?

    • @TAOutdoors
      @TAOutdoors  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +arthur I wouldn't like to use the word "thriving" for our sea fish.Maybe "surviving" is better. Almost every species I know is harder to catch than years ago ,just less of everything about,plus I believe destruction of habitat by trawling prevents replenishing of stocks.The only fish that seems on the increase is the Smoothhound,but they are primarily a summer species.

    My wife and I both prefer Whiting over cod. We aren't catching any big enough at present just dozens of small starving ones. Hopefully that will change in the comjng weeks.

    Nice video gramme, looking forward to the mackerel starting again there my favourite fish to eat, by the way is there a minimum size limit for whiting like there is for cod? Cheers
