Did see "the move" yesterday, where Lance Armstrong talked to George Hincapie about the Tour and this incredible bound between Jonas and Wout. "George, you never stood there like Wout, waiting for me, in tears" I thought to myself, yes Lance, your heart isn't as big as Jonas. Lance was always "icecold". I love the new generation, acting like brothers, real sportsmen with big hearts, also Tadej.
I saw that. I thought George was going to say "You are an asshole! That's why." Lance's domestics were so worn out at the end of the stage Lance was the only one left to win it. I think there was one stage wherein Lance was about to give the stage win to Hincapie, but one of Lance's rival came up hard to try to win the stage, so Lance took it.
I was watching the move a few days back and Lance was saying how many of the domestics were mostly out there for themselves. Like Alexander Hamilton. Hincappie was loyal to him. But yeah, I can't exactly imagine being a domestic fir Lance and WANTING him to win. But guys like Jonas, now you are going to want to work for the guy because he is a good and noble guy. It sounds like a good vibe going on there at Jumbo Visma.
From Denmark: Thank you for taking care of our Vingo. You are a beast! You will never be forgotten for this amazing TDF, And we love you champ💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
Wout seems like such a great young man, and the ultimate teammate and team player. Can't help but support JV after their performance this year. Class acts all the way around.
Vingo has many more TDF coming for him. He is the perfect symbol of true gentleman and a big brother to his teammates and to Pog (when he crashes). And you can say the same with Wouty and the rest of the team. Congratulations TJV for a fantastic and the best ever TDF in years.
Jumbo-Visma have lit up the TDF in a most spectacular way. The preparation to achieve this must have required a massive team effort. It was a pity that Primôz Roglić had to retire from the race with injury, it would have been great to see him there at the end. Wout has shown real class and commitment throughout the TDF, despite some people knocking him on occasions. The day Jonas took the Yellow Jersey on the Col du Granon will go down in TDF history as one of the most epic moments in the battle with Pogacar. They were both worthy champions, but Jonas had the better team around him, as well as putting in phenomenal performances to stay on Pogacar's wheel for so many attacks. Having Wout in there just gave them the edge necessary to keep the pressure on the other teams and control breaks. The rest of Jumbo-Visma put everything out there to control pace, provide wheels for the big guns to follow and showed what absolute sacrifice for the team was all about. What a special podium: Jonas Vingegaard, Tadej Pogacar and Geraint Thomas! Congratulations to those guys, their teams and all the other riders who put themselves through such a gruelling tour in the super-heat of the summer in France 2022.
Wow, and Wout! and Wow Wout too! Love this guy. Talk about leaving it all out there, over three weeks with the team.... in the Tour. and I'll be watching him ride in the mud in December and January too, with Pidcock and MvDP and the rest. A goldend generation is upon us no doubt. What's next, Remco winning the Vuelta?!
Wout v. Aert is arguably the best overall rider of this Tour. He is very modest, always praising others. Reality is of course that the Jumbo-Visma team won the tour, and as a commentator on Dutch TV said, WvA is the only indispensible team member of Jumbo-Visma.
No one knows if Jonas would have won but he wasn't gonna challenge his best helper like that. Wout sees it as a gift from his captain that's all we need to know
WvA is very modest, always praises others, he's doing that all the time. To be team correct, he had to say what he said. Everything else would be considered as un-teamly.
Worlds best rider Van Aert.. as Jonas also said in his TDF speech where he dazzled his teammates with sincere bro'mance love. Van Aert is such a complete rider and also more complete than Jonas Vingegaard.. Jonas Vingegaard & Tatej Pogacar are the world's best GC rider.. on a long grand tour. Jonas Vingegaard clearly was the strongest rider in TDF2022 but he lacks the explosiveness that Van Aert and also Pogacar has. and when Jonas asked by danish TV before the tour or perhaps it was midtour, about which skill of Pogacar he envied the most... it was Pogacars fabulous explosiveness - but as he also emphasized that if he would pursue that aspect more and build for that.. with fx more muscle, etc.. there is a good chance he then would the some of the advantages he has for recouping form and having such longevity. Great TDF2022... and what a battle between these two champs Pogacar and Vingegaard.
This guy is unbelivable. He is such a great sportsman, a real champ with a big heart and always kind attidude. I like this new generation of pro cyclists. They are really good for this sport.
Not totally convinced this was a gift to Wout from Jonas. It was a risk reward decision on Jonas' part. The stage win was not worth the extra risk of putting overall yellow in jeopardy.
Jonas is 3 min and 34 sec ahead of Pogacar, plus Wout has been an amazing rider for Jumbo and Jonas. He could not lose yellow and it was a wonderful gesture from him.
When he overcooked the corner surely they must have been level on time. It would have been close if Jonas was going for the win - but yeah he quite possibly backed off to ensure Wout got the stage win.
@@otto0363 Several other riders were fast the first half, but could not maintain the pace the second more demanding part. As a Dutch TV commentator remarked, Vingegaard took the swings much more uncertain, and it was self-evident that he should stop pushing. These were even team orders, stop doing that. From a team perspective this was common sense. From Vingegaard's perspective he wanted to proof the last bit.
He sounded like he really wanted to get out of the shadow of Jonas and win stages or even in gc. But their coaches would not allow him to. Wout I believe his time is now better win the tour or just fade away like other good domestiques. Sad
He was never intended as GC rider in this tour. Roglic and Vingegaard were co-captains to start with and if one failed then all efforts would be concentrated on the other. van Aert was always labeled with a free role with the green jersey as the ultimate goal. TJV were quite clear about this already before the start of the tour.

Armstrong farts and the world leans in to see if it still stinks
Lance is pathetic and irrelevant 😴
What a rider, our danish boy could never have done it without this guy! Best rider in the world 2022 tour de france🇩🇰🚴🏻🚴🏻
Yes, we love him too in Denmark! I agree, and he is probably the strongest in the world at the moment. And what a team, TJV, wouw.
He is really one of the greatest of all time. But, i think Jonas could have won this tour with other teams to be honest.Maybe not with that margin.
And jonas is loved in the netherlands!
💞

Big Maestro. He's so loved in Denmark like the whole Jumbo Visma team🇱🇺
Wrong flag 🇳🇱
That's the flag of Luxembourg my guy
Wout seems like such a great young man, and the ultimate teammate and team player. Can't help but support JV after their performance this year. Class acts all the way around.
It's good to see wout's emotional side, tears of joy.
Many current riders are very likable - but Wout is special beyond that ❤
SO human, such gratitude. My heart's been melted.
Pure class. Champion rider and teammate.

The MVP of the team, he is always ready to do anything for the team.
I like this guy
Van Aert performed his part exceptionally well. Also was Primo Roglic who sacrificed as a super domestique after his injury to save stage 11 for Jonas
Best allrounder and best tour in years.

Amazing team and Wout is a great guy, great sport man and so supportive with Jonas.

Your prediction was so apt!!! Remco indeed did win the Vuelta
Sportsmanship at it’s very best. Gentlemen. A beautiful thing.
Wout is a Beast and a nice guy. Fantastic rider.

@@dirkvr3815 His sporting director probably told him about his conversation with Jonas.. or Wout just saw how Jonas slowed down.
Legend!
NEDROGUJE ALE TRÉNUJE.🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🇸🇰
Congrats. Three years of struggle for TJV.
Absolute machine

Brothers in arms

Yes
Why emotional? My guess is all the hard work, trials and tribulations preparing and racing this event, and seeing it pay off in front of your eyes.
Also because Jonas slow down to be sure Wout wins the stage wout saw it on screen and the he start crying.
He's human!

There was no risk involved in the last kilometer so your statement doesn't make sense.
When he overcooked the corner surely they must have been level on time. It would have been close if Jonas was going for the win - but yeah he quite possibly backed off to ensure Wout got the stage win.

Jonas Vingegaard: "He won by 19 seconds. Of course I didn't drive as fast the last 200 meters, but even if I had given it all, I had not won anyway."

He’s also maybe half crying coz he was not picked to be GC contender earlier when Roglic crashed.
he isnt a gc rider??

Full of drugs
So get some drugs and go show them how it´s done.
