Got the miyoo mini+ and my 35 has been in a drawer since. Was playing 35 everyday before I got the mini plus. Initially, I didn't like the miyoo screen quality and the 35 was much better in comparison but when started tinkering with the display settings, I found a combination between hue, saturation, etc and now the quality is much better than the 35. If for whatever reason you're curious, the combination that I landed on was 0, 15, 20, and 15.
I've got two Miyoo pluses and the screens were slightly different, but both paled in comparison to the RG35XX which looks crisper, vibrant and brighter. I need to try your settings. Anyway, Both Miyoo's had issues, one horrible screen bleed, and the other, sketchy dpad input. Had to combine both to get the best . Honestly the RG35XX oozes quality in comparison. It doesn't creak, it feels solid for the most part, descent sound, and with Garlic, it's pretty bad ass. While I think the aesthetics of the Miyoo look better, the speakers are worse, so is display, and the overall build quality and QC. Battery is obviously better, but not by much. Was surprised to find issues after ordering two mini's in the past with zero problems. Oh well.
I have the Anbernic RG 351P. It has better specs than the Miyoo Mini Plus and it's a bit cheaper. It comes with a free Wi-Fi dongle. for internet use like game scrapping and retro achievements. For me the 35xx is a better value for money because it's cheaper. If you don't mind not using retro achievements or not even playing multiplayer over WiFi then this is good enough. For me the 351P is way better than the Miyoo Mini Plus because it has better specs and dual joysticks which is really good for ports, FPS like Doom and other platformer games like Shovel Knight and especially Scummvvv games or point and click games. It is also much comfortable playing the port of Diablo because of the joysticks.
@@KWPZ21I have MM v2, MM+, RG35XX and RG351P. among these, RG351P has the worst screen. Its so pale and lacking colors. RG35XX has best screen imo. MM+ has best software.
I got the RG35xx last week and installed Garlic OS which makes it much better. However, I wish that it was taller. With my big hands, it feels somewhat awkward to hold. I have concluded that handhelds, especially vertical ones, are hard to control accurately. I think that a horizontal portable game system would work much better.

Yes, you can do that. The OS boots straight from the SD card, so you can switch back and forth anytime. I did this when I was testing out different OS's.
Stock firmware plays SEGA CD. Just put the files in the MegaDrive/Genesis fokder. The problem with all cfw is that the menu button never works as good as on stock. I hate it whe I can't easily leave a game. Maybe Koriki will be good some day. Garlic seems dead like the stock firmware...
Mine stopped turning on randomly, bought a Miyoo Mini Plus and waiting for it to arrive. I think I'm done with Chinese handhelds for a while after the Miyoo.

I'm just using the default settings on GarlicOS. It seems playable, but I haven't spent a ton of time with it on this device. I'll try to spend a little more time and compare it to the original hardware. It's one of my favorite PS1 games.
Nah, you're right. It's a bit off. If I rely on my eyes I can play it, but I couldn't pass the eyes-closed rhythm test lol. I tried messing around with latency settings but can't get it quite right. Unfortunately, this is a problem I've experienced emulating this game on different platforms. I'd love to hear if you come up with a solution.
Batocera 0.7 runs above PSX, video snaps dont play here, what are the folders need to be name like? Sometimes its video, sometimes videos, sometimes snap...
I've only had it for a few months, but I use it pretty regularly and haven't had any problems yet. It feels pretty solid. Much more durable than some other cheap handhelds I've tried.
Hmm... Maybe make sure your SD card is in the right slot? (the top one) If not, maybe the card is corrupt. Try GarlicOS on a fresh microSD card and see if that works? Hope it comes back on for you.

there's something to keep in mind, the stock os has really bad power management in comparison to garlic os, in short garlic os is better in performance and battery life . I'd say install garlic os, it has got much better .
I have problem loading PCECD , SEGACD and ARCADE games on GarlicOS can you help. And yes I have put the bios files and the roms are '.chd' format. Would be greatly appreciated with your response.
Arcade can be tricky because there are so many different MAME versions of each game. Do you know which romset you are using? I think I am using 2003 with no issue. As for Sega CD and PCECD, I haven't had issues running CHD files on those. Should work fine. Maybe try looking for different BIOS files? Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
Garlic OS adds all the folders automatically to the SD card. You just have to add your ROMs to them and make sure you have the BIOS files if necessary.

I actually bought one and installed garlic os, then returned it. The save states in garlic os were really glitching out and messing up the games, and the way a big black bar covers the entire bottom of the screen while fast forwarding is just so unnecessary
Huh weird, I haven't had any issues with save states, and I've never seen a black bar when fast forwarding either. Sorry to hear about the bad experience. Hope you find something you like better.
Do other PlayStation games work? If not, then you might be missing the BIOS file. If other PS1 games are working, it might be a bad ROM. PSN store ROMs will not work for example.
I think theyre great you forgot to mention it can also play dos games! theres doom, wolf3d ports available for garlic os! Although I ahve tried playing through wolf3d now the game crashes when I load it I think my savegame is corrupt I am not sure yet. Anyhow these are great cheap enough you can buy and gift them!

So far I'm sticking with Garlic OS. I gave Batocera another shot recently because it now has better support for stuff like N64, but it's still really slow overall and needs a lot of tinkering to get certain things to work. I go back to Garlic OS every time due to its speed and convenience.
For me, yes. I like that it's all-around faster. But if you want to tinker with things and push the 35xx to its limits with stuff like N64 and Dreamcast, go for Batocera. Batocera is improving all the time and has better support for these higher-end systems now. But for me, it's still hit-or-miss, the boot times are much longer, and Garlic is just more enjoyable for what it is.
In my opinion, yeah. Garlic does everything I want it to. You can push the performance with Batocera (which has been improved since the time of this video) but your mileage with this device can only go so far. It wasn't really worth it to me to try and squeeze N64 and Dreamcast out of this thing.

If you don't care about playing Android games or using the touch screen, in-game performance seems to be basically the same on the cheaper VS. Again, I can't speak from personal experience here. I'm just going on what I've seen/read.
Not if you back up your files first or use a different microSD card. Just make sure you save all your files on your PC first and then add them to the card with GarlicOS.
It depends. If you want to put a lot of CD-based games on there, I'd go for something bigger. I swapped for a 128 GB card and filled it up with a bunch of PS1 games.
Yeah, I stand corrected. I didn't think it would happen. I tried out the updated Batocera a bit and was impressed, but ultimately not enough to switch from Garlic. I just love how speedy Garlic is in comparison. And N64 is still really hit or miss and requires overclocking and tinkering for most games.

35 has bacotera 0.8.1 which can run games like ocarina of time perfectly now

I haven't noticed any difference personally. I only used the original OS for a couple days. Been happily using Garlic ever since.

I changed the video to "Threaded" in retroarch settings and the stuttering stopped!

No, Garlic only comes with a couple homebrew games. You have to add your own games.

In my experience, not well. I'd recommend buying something a little more powerful to play Dreamcast.

Yeah, I stand corrected. I didn't think it would happen. I tried out the updated Batocera a bit and was impressed, but ultimately not enough to switch from Garlic. I just love how speedy Garlic is in comparison. And N64 is still really hit or miss and requires overclocking and tinkering for most games.
It needs 6 buttons for most fighting games. SF2 etc.
Yeah, the triggers are used for those games just like most console ports. It feels a little off playing that way, though.

The console itself didn't come with any Mario games, but you can add your own.
