indeed I bought one of NeoGeo Mini, and now it's gathering dust on the shelf, same for the arcade stick pro, I don't use it at all anymore. I turn on my Slot Orthros from time to time, but what runs the most is my Anbernic RG40xxV in my bed at night... it's much more practical, quicker and easier to use, and the worst part is that it's much cheaper!

This was my first PSX game, maybe I'm biased because of it but I still love its overall atmosphere, music, graphic style, and of course weird gameplay elements. That was a time when games were made with love. I found your channel because of Wild 9. Thanks for showcasing this hidden gem.

Original hardware for me. I still have all my old game consoles. I have my older consoles like ps2, Wii and game cube set up to my CRT, my gen 7 consoles set up to my PlayStation Simulview 24 inch 1080p monitor and my current gen consoles set up to my 4k TV. Not everything transfers over with remasters on newer consoles or emulators. Those things are convenient if that's all you have but it's not the best way to play those games. It's not just about nostalgia. I was so happy to go into the ps3 game store and find I was still able to access the original version of life is strange after seeing how poorly the game was remastered for newer consoles. Original is definitely the way to go. When it comes to games like silent hill 2, silent hill 3, Haunting Ground, Rule Of Rose, Forbidden Siren, Clock tower 3, the PS2 would always be my go to and GTA San Andreas for that matter.

I actually initially quit after about 8.5 hours about 5 years ago. Im gonna attempt to go through it again because I did enjoy the story enough to keep me going, but goodness me its gonna be rough.

I define a retro game as a game old enough for the gameplay and/or aesthetic style to have fallen out of fashion at some point. The pre-BotW Zeldas with made up voices for the NPCs are in a phase where we're waiting for that style to make a comeback. Or maybe it has through some clones

I was just having a whole nostalgia trip about how much I missed RSC over OSRS. I love them both for different reasons... but I felt I had the absolute most fun on my Black Pure in RSC. I had always hoped that more Dragon weapons and armor would have been added in RSC, maybe change the graphics so it was different. But still loved my Black Pure with R2H.

RPG’s? Emulation, old software does not hold up, childhood games like ninja gaiden, Batman nes I had to beat those bad boys on original software? Maybe to avoid temptation for savestates? Always risks for the game freezing though…some systems have not aged well, PS, PS2, those days are gone

For me, since I started playing on original hardware again I started enjoying these games again. Playing on a PC with thousands of roms available sucks the soul and fun out of these games. It just doesn't feel right.

To me, up to ps1 and arguably to ps2 is considered retro to me. Ps3 even after 20 years is not considered retro, that said it will be so old so maybe there will be another word invented like "New Gen Retro"
