    What other tweaks and mods would you recommend for the RG35XX?

      Maybe it's worth linking to the websites where you got the tweaks from? Or please listing them as text so that we can search for it? Mine will arrive next week (I hope) and I need to get the tweaks implemented by June 4th because I want to take the Anbernic on my trip to Dublin.

      U can change menu+L1 to be rewind instead of slow down. Having a rewind button is so useful, since u can quickly correct any misinputs and avoid having to replay the same content u already played, just make sure u have enough memory for rewind buffer

      There are some cool 3D print trigger addons for this on CuIts 3D, you just double sided (or glue) them to the triggers instead of opening it.

    When i got my Anbernic RG351V the first thing i did was install AmberELEC on a proper branded, high quality micro sd card, i would recommend it to everyone who uses that partical model. I'm glad you were able to get your model running awesome.

    • @chiccohuang1972
      @chiccohuang1972 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I own both RG351V and RD35XX. RG351V with AmberElec/JELOS and RG35XX with GarlicOS. I just want to let you know: RG351V and RG35XX are quite different. RG351V can provide beautiful interface and decent gaming but the booting time is quite long. RG35XX is a handy machine whiche you can just play games in any short period of time, quick boot and super fast turn-off with state saved. Highly recommended you have both of them.

    • @TXFDA
      @TXFDA ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, I'd recommend doing that regardless of the brand or model. Any micro sd card an emulation handheld comes with, is going to be a cheapo no-name brand card that's likely to break at some point. And they're always filled with random roms. A lot of times the file names have numbers at the start that mean nothing, and makes browsing through your games a bit of a pain. There's a ton of duplicates from different regions. And some don't even have an English version. Not to mention the usual kind of bootlegs and rom hacks you'd find on a crappy famiclone, just mixed into the middle of everything else.
      First thing I did when I got my Miyoo Mini Plus, was get a new Samsung sd card, and install OnionOS and copy my own roms over.
      The stock cards are really only worth using long enough to test the console out when you first get it to make sure it's all working. Even if you, for some reason, actually WANT the contents on the stock card, I'd at least recommend copying that contents to a better card.

  • @BrokenControllerClub
    @BrokenControllerClub ปีที่แล้ว +5

    That's wild, I just bought mine this week and the label on the console's rear says it's a 2600 mah battery and the case that it came in was the size of a hard drive travel case, but it has the indentation to specifically fit the console. Very much enjoyed watching this - keep it up!

    • @RemyBonnici
      @RemyBonnici ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @3xperiment the first thing I did was buy a Samsung sd card and transfer everything to that because the ones that come with it are cheap and not reliable. Not to say that's the issue but that isn't a common issue I've heard (but sucks that you had that problem)

      @3xperiment8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RemyBonnici I see. That's common for other people I've heard too. What I didn't get was why It happened only on Snes emulator. Now I'm running GarlicOS on a New sd card and I'm enjoining it. And yeah, the sd card which comes with the console is made of paper lol

    I've had this for a couple months now. I love it. I've tinkered with it quite a bit, and it's awesome that it can be a little project. I love that it's so close to the original Gameboy. My mother bought me an original DMG when I was young, and I have fond memories because of this. I got some custom stickers for the back too resembling the DMG product label and the 1-800 number sticker that was on the back of the SNES. It's so f'n cool now. Got me a sweet little case very similar to yours. Also, good gift. Very sweet.

    • @TXFDA
      @TXFDA ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Similar to what I plan to do with my Miyoo Mini Plus. I got the clear purple one, so I want it to look a bit more like the Atomic Purple Game Boy Color. Replace the maroon ABXY buttons with black buttons, add a replica GBC back label on it. Just gotta wait until I get some extra money. Replacement ABXY buttons are like $13+shipping. The sticker is about $6+shipping. Which isn't a ton, BUT, I also just spent about $95 total on the Miyoo and a new SD card. So I'm not super interested in dropping another $20-30 on it right now. Not in a huge rush anyway, I'll fix it up a little as I go.

    I actually put the Box Arts to the right and the texts to the left. Some long name tittles overlap the Box Arts but at least that way they aren't cut off from the screen. It seems more natural IMO.

    2:41 - For older consoles, I would recommend using American ROMs rather than European ROMs for the most part to make the game run at 60HZ rather than the slower 50HZ. Weird to see that this includes Japanese ROMs when it is sold in English countries too, especially when you can literally import Japanese versions on their real hardware cheaper, that's my option on collecting believe it or not, I prefer to get Japanese versions on older systems because their not only better for me but also cheap most of the time, maybe cheaper than US or European versions.
    6:17 - As for box arts, whatever version of a game you have on the RG35XX you could still use (for example) European box arts but have American ROMs or vice versa. I'm assuming your still prefer European covers, especially when showing what BBFC, ELSPA and/or PEGI ratings are on the cover art for each game (if they have them anyway as some may not because their either unrated by those or are rated but the box art is like a limited edition or something similar).

    I got an Analogue Pocket at the start of the year after waiting 13 months for it. I installed all the cores to be able to play a lot of stuff. But even then, I've literally only booted it up for a few minutes like three times. It's a great device, with an incredible screen, but a premium price to match. I'm almost afraid to use it. I've been debating about if I should sell it and get an Anbernic RG35XX for far cheaper, and even if the screen isn't as good as the Analogue Pocket I'm sure I would feel more comfortable about using it everywhere. Plus, PlayStation games.

    "It's a bit strange to be able to play my Amiga games on here, but that's where we are now."
    I definitely feel that. I grew up playing the original Game Boy, NES, SNES, Game Gear, etc. So, every so often I just stop and think about it for a second, and realize how absolutely insane it is that I now have something SMALLER than the original Game Boy, that can play pretty much any and every console up to the PS1. It's nothing new, but just every now and then it hits me how ridiculous technology has gotten.
    As for if it's worth tinkering. I'd say yes and no. Yes, if it's the only emulation handheld you plan to use for a good while. No, if you have like 20 other emulation handhelds. For me, I don't plan to get any more after the most recent one. Mind you, I have a Miyoo Mini Plus, not an RG35XX, but let's face it, they're near identical. But yeah, I don't plan to get another one any time soon, SO, I want this one to be as nice as possible. Which means making it work just the way I want, getting all the box art images set up (including making custom ones for rom hacks), getting overlays/image borders set up for some systems, getting filters set up each system, making sure all my stuff is named right, etc, etc.
    I also plan to do some small aesthetic mods to my Miyoo Mini Plus too, at some point, when I get the money. I got the Atomic Purple Miyoo, but I dislike the button colors. They used that purple/maroon button color for the ABXY buttons. I wanna replace them with black ABXY buttons to match the Atomic Purple Game Boy Color a bit more. I also wanna get a replica Game Boy Color back label to put on my Miyoo, just because. MIGHT look into those slanted shoulder buttons too, in black, but I haven't decided on that yet.

    • @hatchxable
      @hatchxable ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It might still go off the screen if the tittle of the game is too long.
      What I did was placing the Box Arts to the right and the texts to the left side of the screen. Some long game tittles might overlap the Box Arts but at least they aren't cut off from the screen.
      For Box Art if you used the imagemagick program
      For smaller Box Arts magick mogrify -extent 640x480 -gravity East -background none *
      For bigger Box Arts magick mogrify -resize 340x480 -extent 640x480 -gravity East -background none *
      For text
      In order to realign the text to match the image. On your SD1 card, navigate to CFW > skin > settings
      and open it with a text editor. Within this file, make these two changes:
      "text-alignment": "left",
      "text-margin": 16,

    Bro, your microphone is so bad I thought my laptop broke. Your video production and presence is great, but the mic being like this kills it.

      Thanks for the feedback. I think I had my air con on when recording this, and I noticed the difference. I now record without fans or air con running.

    What in the actual fuck, is "grand theft auto - London"?!?! 👀

      @TheMultiGenGamer  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's a Mission Pack for the original GTA. It was based in London 1969 and released on PC as an expansion pack and also on PS1 as it's own release.
