Currently Im on my 8th pacemaker and I have 4 old pacemaker leads dating back to the early 80s left in my heart because they wouldn’t come out when I had pacemaker change so I have a question: are old leads from that time period safe in a MRI scanner? I’ve been told I need to have a MRI scan.
Can someone please tell me if plaque within the coronary arteries can be viewed with a cardiac MRI? I am scheduled for a CTA but due to issues with my bone marrow, I would like to avoid the radiation. I also had an enlarged lymph node in my chest which needs re-assessed. I would think either test could do that.
@@laurenc2250 In addition to someone on TH-cam chiming in, my doctor at the Cleveland Clinic actually consulted with Dr. Kwon on this who verified the cardiac MRI is not a substitute for a CTA. I ended up having the CTA. Thank you Dr. Kwon!
These are brutal. The one I had I was in the tube for 2 hours no music nothing just listening to the guy. Worst experience ever. There has to be a better way of getting better pictures of the heart

There are echos and CTs, but none are as detailed and thorough as an MRI
