Truly the scariest thing, watching these guys trying to solve puzzles.
Their ability to solve even the most complex puzzles vs. their inability to solve the most simplest ones is just astounding. See: the sliding puzzle vs. the FUN puzzle
Is Jirard ever at fault?
I love how the 'cheat' they came up with for the slide puzzle is actually a million times more complicated and time-consuming than the actually simple slider puzzle answer.
Truly on brand for SGS
I'm internally screaming as I watch them do this, lol. Not only is this literally a style of puzzle made for children, but it is is all kinds of video games, several of which I know for a fact Jirard has completed, so he can obviously figure it out after a bit of trail and error, yet the rest of the gang just can't help but over complicate it rather than just letting Jirard take the time to work it out.
They made it infinitely more difficult, it's literally a super simplistic 3x3 slide puzzle. It could've been a 9x9 and still be easier than what they did lol.
Jirard isnt the best at solving puzzle under pressure.
@@BPaulthegreat He was actually doing it at first one their second run through until everyone else told him to stop what he was doing.
I love how long they spent looking for a fourth block because of their original assumption the word was "Doll", when there was a letter with one of the blocks which practically slaps them in the face with "house of FUN".

Reminds me of a prank in my high school where three rats were released into the halls, numbered 1, 2, and 4. Administration was looking for 3 for weeks.

When I say the note, I thought, "Jeez, could that be any more obvious? It says fun TWICE. And it's all caps the second time!"

Honestly it wouldn't be a true omage to the old resident evils if it didnt have weird voice acting, part of what made resident evil spooky was the uncannyness of it all.
The initial dress for the character reminds me a LOT of American McGee's Alice. Same goes for the musical design, too.
*Alice:* "I'll have the turtle shell now, you disgusting ogre."
*Duchess:* "OVER MY DEAD BODY!"
*Alice:* "I'll try to accommodate you."
I mean her name IS Alisa,and she's trapped in the doll house which IS a area on Madness Return's so,I'm ACTUALLY hoping the game to have more McGee's Alice references #-#
You guys know that there is a source reference called Alice in Wonderland for both games, right? The dress is reminiscent of American McGee's Alice because they both come from Tenniel's illustrations for the original books.
@@drudle Anyone knows this,were talking about Madness Return's and Alisa,not the original Alice In Wonderland,also they're interpretations of Alice's dress is pretty different in both so we're comparing them to each other because of they're similarities. But also Alisa's dress is inspired more in Lolita fashion than anything else so even comparing to Madness doesn't make sense now that I think about it......anyway 100% originality at this day an age is impossible since there's SO MANY creations so inspiration is inevitable.....but anyway no need to be a smarty-pants about it -_-"

American McGee's Alice (Madness Returns)
I wonder if the squad will ever get back to the Fatal Frame series. I think I remember reading something that they may not return to it for one reason or another, but a man can be hopeful.
On a random note, I would like the squad to check out "Death Mark" and its sequel, "Spirit Hunter:NG." I love how the guys pierce the lore together in the games they play and I think Death Mark is perfect for that due to its more investigatory nature. The games have their fair share of scares too and it would be interesting to see their reactions.
I bought the fatal frame series for 100 bucks recently which is a lot less compared to how it used to be, so maybe they might try it. Fatal frame 1 is a lot harder than the others though and teeters on bullshit so I would enjoy them playing it.

Video starts with "Hello everyone" instead of "Hello everybody." I don't even know who you are anymore.
The "bedpan" at the start of the game would likely be used to place heated coals in to keep the foot of your bed warm, rather than what the SGS seems to imply. (Though not nearly as amusing)

I don't think so, those are usually flat rounded cylenders with a lid, because you don't want the coals to fall out, or touch anything. I think because it's a big ol' bowl that it's probably a bed pan
@@SPARR0E Since there is sinks and such I would assume they probably have a toilet somewhere in there as well. Just assuming from the general "time period vibe" it seemed more likely to me that it was a nod at the bed warmer rather than the bed pan :)
This creepy doll house vibe is a 100% more skin crawling than hundreds of zombie horror games.

"Toothwheel", huh? Are the devs German or sth? Over here, the most common term for those gears is "Zahnrad" - toothwheel, when translated piecemeal.

The game *really* pulls off the look of PSX/PS1 generation graphics. The illusion only falls apart when the models move because the animation is so much smoother than anything from that era.

Here's a solution for the sliding puzzle in 3 simple steps:
First we're solving the right side of the puzzle forming a path from the end all the way up and bending to the left.
RIGHT, DOWN, LEFT, DOWN, LEFT, UP, UP, RIGHT
Don't move the right side pieces again. Now you can see that if you were to cycle the other 5 pieces (don't do it, just imagine it), the L shaped one and the horizontal one are in the wrong order in the train, we're gonna invert the order of these two.
RIGHT, DOWN, LEFT, UP, RIGHT, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, UP, RIGHT
Now all you need to do is cycle the left and middle columns until the path is complete.
DOWN, LEFT, UP, UP, RIGHT, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, UP
Puzzle complete.
