Two hotels opened...and are housing illegals. Yet the city council member says they need housing for Jamaica's own residents, legal citizens... Do better council members.

They avoided Sutphin blvd between Archer/Jamaica Ave so hard! There's garbage, homeless, and drug dealers on that street 24/7 😂. So glad I left Jamaica, that patty place he mentioned is fire tho lol.

Jamaica is going through the gentrification process. Soon they’ll make it so people that grew up there won’t be able to afford to live in their own neighborhoods.

Shout out to the camera man for managing to make this video without getting all the drug dealers in the background. Multiple blocks on this video where I'm sure there's dealers behind the camera.

@@mayalunics4740because there are. I live in Jamaica, Queens too. Drug dealers and gang members are everywhere here. And they wait for the police to finish their short patrols, then do their dirty business in broad daylight

Senseless changes in traffic patterns like across the city, stores with about a thousand snapshots of shoplifters dozens of drunkards, weaves of Santo Domingo on the faces of Port-Au-Prince, atrocious scene. I’ve lived both two miles East and West of here in Queens Village and Richmond Hill, you can never put enough money in my hands to do business here.

I've lived in Jamaica Queens three times in my life at different points in my life. I can see it getting better for big businesses taking over more local establishments. The new immigrants will probably change the scene a little bit. They are building a lot of high-rises and condos in the area but you still see drug dealers, street hustlers, winos and creeps lurking on the corners. There are police officers posted in certain areas at certain times.
I don't know what's the goal here. Are they trying to change " quote unquote " regntrify Jamaica Queens like they did in West Harlem and west Brooklyn. Maybe that's the case but I wouldn't recommend raising a family here. Or anywhere within a four boroughs for that matter.

This city council people sold our small mom and pop shops in Jamaica avenue to mta and now people with cars don’t go there, because it’s a bus only road now all the way from sutphin Blvd to the precinct . It was their plan to get rid of family owned shops. This guys are thieves.

Don't let this video fool you. I've lived in Jamaica, Queens a very long time, and it's a whole lot worse than what this video shows. All the statistics were lies, and everything the officers said were lies. I went to high school with Donovan Richards, and he really has been trying hard to make Jamaica, Queens better...but there's no saving this slum of a city.
The crime statistics seem low because the police don't stop the rampant crime that never gets reported. Drug dealers and gangs roam the streets at night, and in broad daylight, and they get away with a lot. The migrants came, and they are always loitering, breaking into people's private properties, stealing, and robbing regular citizens.
Everything became too expensive over the past few years, because us citizens are paying for all their renovations, and housing the migrants. They also made the street rules impossible to avoid getting tickets, when driving around Jamaica use to be so effortless. And the parking rates are enraging 😡 I'm in the process of leaving for good sooner rather than later...this is no place anyone should live anymore. It was much nicer when I was a kid.

We hate tRump here. The people of Queens have always hated him. He's a terrible person that has the world fooled. We know him better than everybody, but nobody believes us when we talk about what a terrible person he is. I was so happy when his family left. The cab drivers still talk about him 😂
