took me many years to get the movie.and i finally just got this video song clip and its 2009.thats a long time.thank you very much for having it available for people who enjoyed the movie and love the song.best trucker movie ever made.
This is, literally, the best country music song I have ever heard, my all time favorite, & a true tragedy, in my opinion, that it is so hard to find outside of the motion picture soundtrack.
Well, I feel so unbelievably dumb !! I have loved this song since I first saw White Line Fever ! I never put it together that this was the same Valerie Carter that I heard in the later 70's ! Her voice was one of a kind !
I LOVE Valerie Carter, and I love this song, I'd never heard it before. I just wish I could hear a pristine recording of it! Oh how I hope to hear Valerie sing live again, I've only had the good fortune to attend two performances before. Best wishes to you Valerie!
I have this song on a home recorded 8-track. Possibly recorded straight from the movie although it sounds quite good. The tape has a bunch of other country tunes on it as well.
I was shocked to hear her sound, in her voice, it is out of this Planet, wait until you hear her sing Drifting & Dreaming, I think Valerie Carter has more of a Contender here..wow!!. Please enjoy it when you hear it.. you will never forget the sound and voice of Zendee!. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year 2011 Everyone!.
Thanks so much for posting this! Sure wish I could find Valerie's audio recording of this song, but your video is the next best thing. One of my all time favorite songs from one of my all time favorite movies.
kay Lenz was David Cassidy's girlfriend for a long time in the 1970's. Jan Michael Vincent is now homeless and living on the streets of LA. Valerie Carter the singer is AWESOME! Never knew why she never made the big time.
There is going to be a Hot new Singer in town soon named simply "Zendee" , she has just Blown me off the Planet!!, she will be doing a re-make of this song Drifting & Dreaming, and it will be on You Tube December the 31st at 11:59 AM on New Years Eve Night, posted by Artist World Media, under the name of Zendee of course.
Love this song. I remember seeing White Line Fever. Rewatched the movie to hear the song!

Agreed, dramagurlgirl07. What a shame that this beautiful song by Valerie Carter can't be found - not even on a soundtrack album (that I know of).
"Owner operator, gotta operate to own!"
owner/operator....gotta operate to own.....Amen to that !!!!!
The first rule of driving! 2nd rule: keep the left door closed!
