I also thought this look with the shoulder length honey blonde hair brought out her natural beauty more than the short, white blonde hair. She's wearing the same look in the Material girl video, plus dressed in formal wear, and she looks stunning. Wish they'd picked a better dress for her to wear for this video, but the video was reflecting the theme of the movie, so I get it.

Of course, men can relate to that happening to them, as well. She also says she now understand where beauty lives. She's beginning to mature and can see different possibilities that the younger version couldn't see, and that she is rising above it all. I love this song, too. Oh no, of course. That's one of the things I hated about watching Stranger Things. Despite being a great show (As well as taking place the year I was born) it just reminded me of something we'll never have again. There were no smart phones, or internet, family shows had some kind of lesson and not an agenda, being American was a point of pride.
Anyhow... I imagine watching that show is like being with the prom queen back in high school and remembering how great she was, then showing up to the ten year reunion where she has three kids with three fathers, on her third shitty marriage and is seven months sober and clean from a heroin addiction. Yet you see her yearbook photo and walk down memory lane with her... then see her as she is now. Or for a woman to do the same with the Quarterback. The contrast is just... too much.

Live to Tell is part of her “True Blue” album, which was, when it came out, her best-selling album (her best-selling album is 1990’s “The Immaculate Collection”, which is basically a greatest hits album).
In general, her True Blue album got big praise, one of reasons being Madonna’s voice and how it was stronger and less bubbly than it was before. In this era, Madonna showcases her versatility so well, and that’s one of the reasons why I personally think this was Madonna’s “height” if you will :D

This is by far Madonna's best song of her career, hands down, and one of the very best pop hits of the 80's! The lyrics and music are haunting and brilliant, and they cut deep. The song was so breathtaking that Sean Penn, Madonna's husband at the time, handpicked it as a soundtrack song to his 1986 underrated crime drama At Close Range that co-starred Christopher Walken, which I recommend everybody see.

This is one of those songs that has cross generational appeal, I know from experience. I grew up on this song because my mom had it on cassette. I have it on my driving playlist and now my 16 year old son is nuts about it. Great tune!

Is most likely about something Madonnas been keeping inside, she was only recently open about her rape in Nyc, with the whole story, could have been about that. I think its about a bad man that hurt her( she always says her songs have many meanings) for me is domestic violence. Could be interpereted differently in many ways ;)
