Well the image was a proof of concept and not a stable release for end users to use it. Well the new images will be stable releases and will not break on updates.
Non-working stuff are fan controls and TDP. Also there is no fan speed reading because 0x5570 ITE is not supported by lmsensors yet (ticket is already opened in lm-sensors repo for very similar ITE IT5571).
I really wish someone could make a simple, non experimental video showing how to prevent windows update from crashing your gpd. I've lost countless work files and I'm going to lose more the next time they force the update, and all I see are videos talking to the left and right of the issue.
I'm confused as to why, with the steam deck selling so well, GPD doesn't make a port of steamOS for their devices. I mean sure, have them run windows also, but it is stupid not to jump on the steamOS train to sell some more units. At the end of the day the Steam Deck might be a fad but GPD might double their device sales if they advertise it runs the same OS as the Steam Deck.
because SteamOS 3 is not yet open source, because yes, you can install Steam Beta on Linux and do some stuff with the recovery image for the Steam Deck, but the result right now won't be much more than a patch up. When Valve releases the OS3 for real as they promised, things should be able to improve overall
We proposed to them Linux OS based on Manjaro Linux with SteamDeckUI but they did not accept it, They just want to continue with Windows while they send samples to linux devs to add device support.
Hi, I've just installed the img and it worked flawlessly after a few tweaks. But I just wonder, is there any way to boot directly into Manjaro desktop? Because I usually surfing the web, do some stuffs first and after that comes gaming.
No currently steam ui is default while plasma is secondary. You can disable auto login and retry to false in sddm settings and that will lead you to plasma lock screen on every both.
I installed vanilla Arch (which is base of Manjaro) and LTE modem works like a charm. It's detected as "2c7c:0125 Quectel Wireless Solutions Co., Ltd. EC25 LTE modem" and installing/starting modemmanager service made it instantly available for KDE GUI without any additional work required. Also it connects to Polish mobile network, so it also confirms it should be compatible with most EU standards.
A temp "fix" I found is to plug it into a monitor or TV via an hdmi cable then unplug it and it will work fine again until you reset. Have no idea what to do now though. It would be really appreciated to have a more indepth overview and guide now that it's public. A document could be okay too
Hello there, I see this has been asked several times but i didn't find and answer that worked. I installed the iso on to a Bootable USB to use with my WM2 and all i was asked for when it completed was my Steam account and password details. Then to update any apps etc its asking for an authentication password. I tried manjaro, the user password of the device the USB drive was created on and none work. I have also tried passwd etc but get locked out for 10 minutes each time. Can you advise?
Nothing works properly, the packages and kernel cannot be updated (probably they are from a custom source). This must be some kind of a joke from GPD - hiring a Manjaro maintainer to do a one-time ISO and then call it a day.
Since it's Manjaro, I hope he did a tutorial on how to fix the install after it inevitably breaks.

Even with Official Windows installation other than the one that is sent by GPD?

Does manjaro comes pre-equiped with gamescope bigscreen ui?
Manjaro Gaming edition Yes.
@@fk_tech where can i download it? Manjaro's official website don't have it.
Currently it is only available on gpd win max2 device install.
Soon it will be made public.

Does TDP control, LTE modem all work using linux?

LTE worked out of the box for me on Manjaro Linux - KDE Plasma Edition, TDP control can be done from Desktop app but not from Steam's GamepadUI
@@fk_tech Which app do you use for TDP control?
@@bbkr2063 I used ryzenadj which have a ui for it. But soon manjaro will have a power management tool.

It doesn’t walk for me. Block at steam os verifying installation
Plug hdmi and unplug. This is due to resolution isssue in. Steamdeck ui client. Mostly because of the display used.

What is the user account? Are you using latest image ? Password should be gamer if account is gamer
👍
Thanks
Does egpu work with steamos? Mine is specifically rtx 3060 ti and razer core x.
No SteamDeckUI does not support Nvidia gpu as gamescope have not support for it.
It will work with an AMD eGPU though right?
i update bios and not working wait for update....

Do we have controll over tdp and fan on deckui
I doubt it
Well at least there's silent mode button.
No but will have it soon.

Is GPD OS same as windows 10
Its not GPD OS. it is Manjaro linux Os
