We've had our Shiba just over a year now. Love this guy. Just one thing to stress would be that: if you want a dog that gives you more attention than you give them, then a Shiba probably isn't for you. They are loving but mostly on their own terms. They also love chilling out at a distance from you and just watching what you're doing. More independent than non Shiba owners realize. Not to disregard all the things that make them great dogs. I'll list a few: 1. Quiet, don't Don't bark much 2. Are good being by themselves at home. 3. Very mindfully of their self grooming. 4. Smart and quick learners. 5. Over excitement doesn't last too long. 6. Easy to potty train. 7. Well mannered as long as you get the training in right at the beginning. They can be challenging at times, but as Anais said you have to be firm but kind and be a leader and set the boundaries for yourself and what's expected of them by others.
Can you maybe do a video how you introduced Aoki and your cat? I have 2 cats and I’m interested in the Shiba Inu breed and want to learn all I can if I decide to get one 🥰
Shibas also are prone to allergies and certain food sensitivities. Chicken makes mine itch. He's also stubborn in that if it rains, he will hold his pee and poop in all day out of laziness. I'll have to go outside with him and walk further, since he won't go out to the yard on his own when it rains. They are such a beautiful, intelligent breed, with tons of personality. My boy is quite affectionate and cuddly, but it all depends on how you raise them. Love your Aoki video clips as always. Such a handsome boy, and I can tell you put a lot of effort in your videos.
