This guy is the proof that you don't need a lot of fancy tools to build your own things. A hacksaw, some files, some homemade tools and off we go 😁 I believe the biggest piece of "technology" I saw in his videos is that hand-powered drillpress, which is very awesome btw
@@jelliottlein i've looked far and wide but only found one that's being displayed in a museum. None for sale. I guess you'd have to be lucky to grab one
@@Kleiner_Lutz Thanks. There are some antiques available on eBay and Etsy, but they're not cheap! I've wondered if there's a way to create one using an egg beater drill which you can still buy new (and I have one from my grandfather too).
Ok... I was all WOW about the tool. But that carrot made me giggle. You got great craftsmanship with no power tools, a sweet-looking spokeshave, presented in a very nice video that's all about the work and not about talking? What more can I ask for? Thank you, sir!
Makes a refreshing change to see someone actually using hand tools instead of power tools to cut / grind file etc where a hacksaw and file are easy and cheap to use. . Proper skills, nice one
@@imadethischannel as I was a technology / craft teacher ..teaching skills , metal wood , plastics etc for 37 yrs I get a tad despondent at the over use of unnecessary power tools on “ how to” videos ..nice to see someone cares about craftsmanship 👍
Excellent et superbe ! L’outil, le design, la finition, l’habileté et la réalisation de la vidéo impeccable, sans hors focus et musique minable. Encore une fois, bravo!
Just wow. How elegant. This is easily one of my favorite build videos ever mostly because it's such a joy to witness simple tools wielded so skillfully. Your skills are remarkable and a reminder to everyone what can be achieved without electricity or modern anything. Bravo Sir!

No hay palabras para expresar...... Sencillamente espectacular. Es el primer video que veo en este canal y ya tiene uno más con quien compartir tus conocimientos, felicitaciones, felicitaciones, felicitaciones.
Don’t get me wrong I love “my mechanics” but the simplicity in which you do things is the reason why I love this channel just as much because the outcome is great and it gives me confidence to attempt such projects having all these same tools. Great work my friend
The outcome of this project looks great! We'll polished, and very well constructed. The video was smartly edited and shot well, just demonstrating good craftsmanship. The thing is though, as amazing as those qualities are, they pale in comparison to the true best part of the video... the continuous demonstration, of the concept of dry fitting everything you create, at every stage! Bravo
I thought I was hallucinating and saw a carrot getting shaved…I guess I was hungry. Great job creating a tool that can be made with common scraps! Very creative.😊
Have 59 workers shaving cow & game hides for leather ----for last 40 years --we use 17 old recycled Stanley 151 spokeshaves --never let us down ---metal body ---I simply make new blades from old saw blades !
I had to rewind, but I saw that we have the identicle drilpress. Only yours looks like new. And I learnd something about how it's working. I found it a few months ago for Just €20, and I had to buy it. And it's great to see how somebody doesn't need Electronic tools to make something.
Yes, the drill press is great! I bought mine for a similar price. It needed a bit of cleaning and the chucks were broken. I will post a video soon about the restoration process!
Really simple and basic way of making a spoke shave but still very quality. I also really like the shape and styling of the spoke shave simple but still very modern
Love your work ---dont get me wrong --that spokeshave is extremely versatile in taxidermy ---but your fabulous machines are not available in the African backwoods ---still ---your product is stunning !
Thanks! I do not question that Stanley spokeshaves are cheaper and more durable than my diy project. I think making your own tools is kind of hard to rationalise but still worthwhile for some people ;)
Wow, this turned out fantastic! Your hand tool skills are really impressive. I like your fresh approach to design, I have never seen a spokeshave made like this. Honestly, the only thing that I don't like as much is the choice of screws. On the other hand, they make the spokeshave look like a happy robot spitting out shavings 😄 Hope you get a lot more subscribers soon, your work deserves it!
Very well done. I was trying to figure out what your next steps were going to be and you surprised me a few times. I'm sure it'll make a great addition to your tool collection!
Hey thanks for the amazing video! The spokeshave is beautiful. I imagine working in a way that allows you to film makes it even harder. Thanks for sharing. If you don't mind I'd like to make my own, or at least try.😄
Hey, thanks for watching! I‘m glad you like the video. And yes, filming definitely adds a lot of overhead. But it is still fun :) Please, go for it and make your own!
This was an impressive build - well done! Aesthetically it's a very pleasing tool, and looks like it takes nice shavings. I'd wondered about the adjustability but works great with the plane hammer for fine adjustment. The carrot was funny - nice accidental pareidolia. Your build videos are highly enjoyable to watch.
Хорошая работа, в результате красивый инструмент. Но в некоторых местах было страшно - например при работе рубанком с установленными металлическими частями) Результат отличный, хотя эргономически и непривычный)

Best carrot peeler in the whole drawer .
Beautiful craftsmanship. Just as the man is happy after building the tool, the tool also looks happy 😂😂
Thanks! And yes, it’s a very cheerful plane. :)
Amazing process
Thanks!
It looks like a little face saying, "HEY GUYS!!" and then vomiting wood shavings out!! Nicely done! Really cool build!
Haha, yes it does! Thanks!

So beauty tool, minimalist and modern design, i love!!!! Congratulations for awesome work.
