I applaud you for taking this swap on by yourself. I know you could ask a shop, or friends to either do it or help, but the fact that you're going to take this on, while learning as you go, I give you the upmost respect, very awesome.
Just came across your video now a whole 1 year later. I cant watch without giving you mad respect for doing the swap yourself, it now makes me feel a little more confident in changing my brake pads on my s14. " i mean if she can do a tranny swap then surely i can handle some pads😢"
I come from a time where in middle and high school the boys took wood shop, metal shop and auto shop; and the girls took Home Economics (basically cooking and sewing). Now, as a father of daughters, I am so grateful that times have changed and everyone is free and encouraged to follow their passions without regard to stereotypes. I subscribed immediately and am excited to see your further adventures. There is no one I respect more than someone who says, “This job is intimidating, but I’m going to jump in and do it anyway.”
Massive congratulations Alex. Doing the swap can be a big task by yourself. And you crushed it. Seeing this reminds me how lucky I was to have a shop lift when I did this swap on my brother's S14. Can't wait to see what you do with your 240 next.
That's what my s13 sounded like. I didn't like it so I pulled the Ka24e and swapped it with an Sr20det. But I've been lazy on finishing up a few things to get it running again. Watching you finish your manual swap gave me some motivation.
Well Done Ms. Lopez! I have immense Respect and Admiration for you for undertaking such a labor intensive project. You faced your fears and You CONQUERED! Congratulations! Can't wait to see future videos...
I’ve had my auto s13 hatch waiting 2 years for me to stop being such a scaredy cat about doing a manual swap. This vid really inspired me so i’m gonna go start getting the rest of the things i need for it and get it done. Thanks for the inspo ✌🏼
Stumbled upon your video this morning, and I think you have a lot to teach other car channels about making wholesome content. The swap was well detailed with enough step by step for everyone to follow along, and finishing the whole swap in one appropriate length video was perfect. Looking forward to seeing more of your projects. Keep it up A.L.
Wow...l'm in my 60's and l started my journey into the automotive world about 30 years ago. Didn't have a clue about cars and TH-cam and the internet wasn't a big thing you could tune into for help with cars...the way it is today. I did my first engine and transmission rebuild/swap with the help of a Haines car manual and a few tips from a few other mechanically minded professionals and enthusiasts like yourself. I'm gonna sub your channel because l like that your giving it a go. I will go back and check some of your previous content but l already like what's going on in this video young lady 👏👏👏 Cheers from New Zealand 🍻
Damn, a well-earned like and subscribe. Props for doing it yourself. All the research, gathering the parts you need, and hard work pays off. The moment you drive it off, no headers and rattling bolts and all, smiling saying "it fucking worked!" is the shit I live for. Doesn't matter how many TH-cam videos you watched or forums you read, you still had to do the work. 240's are super rewarding to work on. Subscribed so I'll be expecting the Dual cam or SR swap video soon lol
Not many of these Silvia over here in New Zealand.[any more ] mainly get collected by Tuners and big fans of these cars. Those SR20de , can put some power out. They,er in Nissan gti-r pulsar . A mate has three. Nice work on the manual swap . Don't forget the cosmetic too. I got real happy , when you test drive it. Congrats
Mad props and respect for you Alexandra not only for doing the whole manuel swap but also for doing it on the floor👌 but if i can just make a suggestion is that you should get rid of the two piece driveshaft you have on it within time the center bushing collapses and can leave you stranded on the road. I would get a full aluminum one piece driveshaft to replace it that way you won't have that issue in the future. Just my two cents and keep on grinding on your builds both your whips are a thing of beauty🔥👌
very nice, I'm doing a 2jz ge na/t swap in an auto s13 and this is my next undertaking before I drop the motor and trans. in. I haven't gotten down there and looked but I had no clue everything was already laid out for the pedal bolts and the master cylinder, that's a huge help. Thanks for the informative video! It's always nice to see people wrenching on their own rides, I'll never understand how you're able to do all of that with those nails though lol.
Not really a 240 guy, but great video. Keep up the good work. Mad respect especially for not being a mechanic and actually going through and doing this on your own
Awesome video. I found a 240 but it was AT; the guy also had a MT so I want to be able to learn everything that way I can do it for myself as well because I won't be satisfied with AT. The process will save me money and get some new experiences
I learned mechanics the same way by doing it yourself and using the internet it's a great resource to have. You can't beat manuals other than traffic lol everything I own is manual! I noticed in the video you didn't show torquing the flywheel and pressure plate to spec? That's pretty important. Also another tip in a big jug like that pouring oil even the quart bottles if you flip the spout to the high side while you pour maybe even on a little angle it pours smooth and lets it vent air better that's how it's designed. But congrats on the swap!
That's good, thorough research before a build/swap is key IMO but I'm jealous of the 240 lol always wanted one growing up but I got my Camaro to keep me busy I like some imports but my heart lies with the American muscle 💪
Respect. Congrats. How rare you are. You don't have an ounce of boy in you, all woman but you attacked this job like a seasoned mechanic that spends all day wrenching. Talent and mechanical prowess is hard to explain. I could never explain mine. But you are very rare. Very very few girls wrench on cars and especially as lovely as you. A very ambitious project and you will be very gratified when its back on the road. And quite right, cars are never finished.
Great work 👍. 2 project cars🤷🏼♂️. I’ve been down that road and had to let one go 😂. It was easier for me to focus on 1. “Hobby cars” are never truly complete. Learn and have fun!
I was thinking the same thing , never use 2nd hand the springs tend to go stiff making clutching "unbearable" clutch plates get worn out pretty fast too.
Your reaction on your first drive is fantastic. Sounds like you are down a cylinder when you were driving in the daytime. It might be the reason why you stalled
Ig algorithm brought me here., Good video i always wondered this process since ive owned a s13 vert in the past. I was intimidated as well and eventually bought a manual hatch lol GG for actually swapping it
Hey! Alexandra you never disappoint me with your vlogs and I love your vlogs so so much you are my inspiration and I wish you reach 60K Subscribers very very soon!😭💫💕
Hey there nice job on your project. For your engine issues .... Here are some possible remedies. FIRING ORDER. POSSIBLE FOULED SPARK PLUGS. WIRES. COILS. COMPRESSION CHECK.
I just realized this late, but it looks like she had used GL-5 gear oil, instead of GL-4, for the manual gearbox/trans. GL-5 has a different additive package than GL-4, and is commonly used for hypoid gears in differentials and such. GL-4 doesn’t have the same additives and is usually suitable for most manual transmissions/gearboxes, because of the yellow metal friendly additives. Most modern synchronizers and related gearbox parts are made of yellow metals (ex: brass), which would get corroded and damaged by GL-5 gear oil over time… Not sure if she’s felt the poor shifting quality all this time or before then; but if she hasn’t, she must be pretty lucky. The damage is pretty irreversible, and you usually gotta do your own trans fluid flush, in order to get all the wrong oil/fluid out..
You could also stick a bigger or smaller wrench in a wrench to get more leverage. Still i thought you did well long nails thought you can rip them and they can split. all in all good job.
You need to learn the double ring spanner trick instead of using a hammer on your spanners, put the ring end of another spanner over the open end of the spanner you have on the nut you are undoing and push/pull. Leverage is key to undoing nuts and bolts
I applaud you for taking this swap on by yourself. I know you could ask a shop, or friends to either do it or help, but the fact that you're going to take this on, while learning as you go, I give you the upmost respect, very awesome.

Mad props doing it on jack stands plus by yourself with minimal help super impressed. Congratulations.
You must be so happy that's a big accomplishment, nice job!
I am!! 😁🙌🏼
Did not expect a 16 minute video to be so comprehensive about the whole process
That's what my s13 sounded like.
I didn't like it so I pulled the Ka24e and swapped it with an Sr20det.
But I've been lazy on finishing up a few things to get it running again.
Watching you finish your manual swap gave me some motivation.

I’M SUPER IMPRESSED THAT YOU DO ALL THE WORK ON YOUR OWN RIDE! PERFECT COMBINATION OF BRAINS AND BEAUTY😃 ROB OTTA LAS VEGAS 🚗🙋🏻♂️👍
Appreciate it!!🙏
massive respect for taking on a swap like that by yourself.
Love the fearless enthusiasm - get it girl!
Finally a guide where it tells you how many bolts, where they are and what size! Thank you so much! 😁
That smile! On the drives! ✨ It had me smiling too! Hell yeah! Awesome vid!!
I’ve had my auto s13 hatch waiting 2 years for me to stop being such a scaredy cat about doing a manual swap. This vid really inspired me so i’m gonna go start getting the rest of the things i need for it and get it done. Thanks for the inspo ✌🏼

Congratulations on this project & rare to see in the car community, I love it can’t wait for more future updates 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
I love how much joy cars bring you. You are such a beautiful person Alex. Keep up the videos.
That was hella impressive. You just dove right in and got it done. Very well done!

Bout to do this manana. 😂 i couldn’t find the drain plug for the auto Tran and I just stopped but seeing you drain it with out entirely spilling.. 👌
Cool Video Luv how you got notes for building your car ... Precision works ☺️
🙏🙏
The most amazing part of the video is you did not break any of your pretty nails and it still looks good. Congrats on the swapping.

GTiR Pulsars are SR20DET only
It’s always a good day when Alex posts a video
😎😎😎🙏
Hugee respect for doing it all on your own like that! You should be so proud!!! 🙌🏾
Appreciate it🥲
Appreciate it🥲
Im hella impressive that you completed this Manuel swap congrats
That’s awesome! Can’t wait to see the 240 transform soon
🙏🙏
ahhhh omg it finally happened!!! that’s so cool dude!! congrats on finally doing it i know it feels so good!! also i hope you feel better 💜
This is like _extremely_ impressive. I could not even dream of doing this. Just, congratulations.

🙏will probably upgrade everything as i go! Thank you🙌🏼
You did a great job. I love a 240sx. I want one. I watched this twice. Pretty good stuff.
congrats on the swap! It definitely running on 3 cylinders though, check injectors, plugs, and wires, etc. Something is definitely not right
Really cool watching how this is done, awesome step by step method!

I'm impressed. You're better at working on cars than alot of techs I I've worked with.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 this is a tough job ! Great work!
Vardy Good job there!....Pretty impressive on the swap project!...
That’s dope hella did your homework and made it look easy
Definitely not easy but step by step🫡
Damn good job. I manual swapped my E36 M3. Its so satisfying when you take that first drive.
Love this video! Props to you for doing the swap! 😎😎
🙏appreciate it
go alex!! was so stoked to see the 240 turn on and drive- all smiles here :-)
Thank you!!😇😁
I love how you just boss this project ❤sweet
I always had access to a lift when working/learning on cars so I refuse to do it on the floor lol great video 👍🏼
I need to invest in the future😆
Not really a 240 guy, but great video. Keep up the good work. Mad respect especially for not being a mechanic and actually going through and doing this on your own
This is so inspiring! Wish I knew how to work on cars like you 😍😍
Ur the first car girl i see for first time!
Major props wow! You’ve come a long way! You definitely need to celebrate! You made it look easy! 🎉 🥳 👍🏽🙌🏽
Appreciate it!!
Nice work, that is some serious mechanic work there!🔥
Awesome video. I found a 240 but it was AT; the guy also had a MT so I want to be able to learn everything that way I can do it for myself as well because I won't be satisfied with AT. The process will save me money and get some new experiences
Wow ! alexandra. That was a big job. Nice work proud of you.🥳👌😃
Appreciate it!🙏
I’m surprised she did all this with nails 💅 impressive
Good job. Lot of hard work and research you did off camera because you made it look easy on camera 😊
I learned mechanics the same way by doing it yourself and using the internet it's a great resource to have. You can't beat manuals other than traffic lol everything I own is manual! Everything got torqued to spec that i saw on the forums🙌🏼 and thank youu!😇😇
That's good, thorough research before a build/swap is key IMO but I'm jealous of the 240 lol always wanted one growing up but I got my Camaro to keep me busy I like some imports but my heart lies with the American muscle 💪
Bro I respect you so much for this my gf would never lmao
Go you for doing this all by yourself!!!
Respect. Congrats. How rare you are. You don't have an ounce of boy in you, all woman but you attacked this job like a seasoned mechanic that spends all day wrenching.

Bad ass job! I’ve would of bin a little intimidated myself but that’s dope! Props!
You are so freaking dope! That was awesome just practice on your clutching skills and it should break in. Not loose but just broken in❤️💯
Great work 👍. 2 project cars🤷🏼♂️. I’ve been down that road and had to let one go 😂.
It was easier for me to focus on 1. “Hobby cars” are never truly complete. Learn and have fun!
Thank you for completing the swap in one video! Should've dropped a new clutch/pressure plate on there. Other than that, good job!
I 100% agree and i regretted it after, but definitely will upgrade down the line😆
Thank you!!
I just fell in love 🤩😍 awesome job! 👍🏼
props for you girl! I would not try to attempt manual swap my first car.
Its not as bad as it seems😭 just long process
You freaking rock, congrats
gj on the swap! sounds like its a little low on fuel pressure and/or an injector isn't firing.
Ig algorithm brought me here., Good video i always wondered this process since ive owned a s13 vert in the past. I was intimidated as well and eventually bought a manual hatch lol GG for actually swapping it
🙏🙏
Awesome Manuel swap you are a awesome mechanic.
Awesome stuff! That "moment of truth" is always a good feeling. Ha.
Hey! Alexandra you never disappoint me with your vlogs and I love your vlogs so so much you are my inspiration and I wish you reach 60K Subscribers very very soon!😭💫💕
🙏🙏thank you
So cool to see M\T 240 ✌️
Hey there nice job on your project. For your engine issues .... Here are some possible remedies. FIRING ORDER. POSSIBLE FOULED SPARK PLUGS. WIRES. COILS. COMPRESSION CHECK.
You’re already a G for attacking the swap by urself. But then u go ahead and do it with your pretty nails on too. That makes u a super human 👌👍
🔥 HARD WORK PAYS OFF! 🔥
nice work, hopefully when i get my e30 bmw project ill be doing this soon.
Try using the 2 wrench leverage trick instead of a hammer.I think you are a mechanic if u can swap a transmission by yourself!
Congrats and well done Alex... Could't wait to see ur next Vlog. BTW im ur newes Subscribers. Sending Greeting and Loves from Malaysia.

Thank you!! A lot gets cut off to just show the steps but got done eventually 😆
Most women ask men to do the work for em but I sure can respect doin if yourself. It's a man's job. Much respect to smart female mechanics
Ayyye she get down! Great job 👏🏼
BIG 👍🏽. Same here, I do my research before attacking it
One of the most impressive thing in the video that you didn't break a nail LOL
And you didn't break a nail....impressive....💅....👏👏 Great job....
Congrats on the swap, very impressive. Just curious how long does it normally take to edit a video like this?
I'm excited for you enjoy
Wow! Congrats! Neta que eres bien chingona, i would’ve been way too intimidated to try a manual swap. Mis respetos! 🎉
So ein Autoservice könnte ich auch noch brauchen ☝️😋 mit dem Rundum zufrieden Paket 🤩 Fahrzeuge gibt's genug ☝️ die warten ...☺️
Such a smart human 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Hello Alexandra Lopez..
Nice to you again...
About time! Lol… next is the frs manual swap. 💯⛩️
How do you do it with these big nails?
You could also stick a bigger or smaller wrench in a wrench to get more leverage. Still i thought you did well long nails thought you can rip them and they can split. all in all good job.
Huge Kudos to you...
You need to learn the double ring spanner trick instead of using a hammer on your spanners, put the ring end of another spanner over the open end of the spanner you have on the nut you are undoing and push/pull. Leverage is key to undoing nuts and bolts
While you're at it, you should fix that Exxon Valdez situation going on under there. Something is pissing out oil everywhere.
